bought an 86 back before thanksgiving as a project/parts bike. paid $400 for it. had been sitting in a carport for 10+ years. after stripping it down pretty well and lubing everything i could find, replacing all fluids and checking out as much as i could on the way, she's finally back together (mostly). maiden voyage was yesterday, a short spin down the highway, and its runnin GREAT! I replaced a few parts but for the most part every thing was in good shape so ive got less than $600 bucks into it...YEEHAW!!! even better is that i now have something to compare my 87 to. its been having problems that i cant track down, but now i know that it definately isnt right. I will be trading parts back and forth till it runs like this new 86. what a pleasure to ride a good working machine! thanks for listening to me brag

Rode to work this morning for the first time since my accident on fathers day. The shoulder and ribs havn't felt too good until the last few days. Since I had to put the 4Runner in the shop I figured this was as good a day as any. It felt great. Still need to do a few cosmetic repairs and the bike is back to almost like new. Yeehaw!
