thats right! Pelican cases on my 1st gen. my old yammy cases were leaking, and the right case had melted. probably from a rear caliper locking up in the past. so...i went pelican! pelican cases are virtually indestructible. water and air tight and lightweight! the cases i got were the hardigg i2400 storm. 26 liters. i bought them on ebay, used, from a supplier for 117.00 delivered. they weigh 6.5lbs, my yammy case weighs 9lbs. saved 5 lbs already! i took off backrest, helmet locks, crash bar, and grab handles. that stuff weighed 23lbs!! my tired rear shock is probably lovin me right now....anyhow...i used the mounts for the top right off the old cases. i wanted to be able to take them off, like regular luggage. i also used the lower guide/mount , but, had to make a new bracket. i used some samson construction brackets. lots off measuring, re-measuring, and drilled holes. mounted upper and lower brackets and checked fit. I LOVE THEM!!!! sweet case, custom look, and WATERTIGHT!.now some final finish work, locktite, silicone, and then the other side tomorrow. whew! im tired...all that thinkin wore me out! oh, i have to make a locking point for them too, so the dont fall off, and no one can steal them....enjoy. told ya i was up to somethin... Back during the 80's when I had an '83 Royale, I visited this dealer (Bob's Cycle) in Cleveland, TN quite often on my way to the Smokies. It was a family owned dealership and seemed to cater to the touring rider (as in large bike) back then. They kept a good inventory of accessories and clothing, as well as a good inventory of bikes and had a good service department. I see they are still in business and wonder if anyone is familiar with their offerings now-a-days, as I am riding a 2nd generation RSV now. Most of the Yammy dealers around my area, don't carry much for the Venture Rider. It is all order based...and they cater mostly to the cruisers, dirt riders, water craft and 4 wheelers. Thanks in advance for your views.... Andy....

Hello everyone Has anyone ridden or bought this beastie? My main question is - does it have the same "chirp/whine/noise" as the Venture? I'm thinking of this as a second bike but I really don't want any more Yammy noises!!! ps - somewhat difficult around here to get a test ride.

SO one of the spacers is missing (the bolt kindly stayed in the trunk) that stands the saddlebag off the frame... Anyone have a good replacement suggestion other than ordering one from the (notoriously slow and expensive) Yammy Parts Shop?? Can I get something similar at a local hardware store?

...Phillips head screws? I know Honda did in the early 70's. The screws were getting rounded because many people did not use the JIS standard drivers on them. So, me was wondering about Yammy. Decent page on JIS - http://www.instructables.com/id/When_a_Phillips_is_not_a_Phillips/step10/JIS-Japanese-Industrial-Standard/

Getting ready to tear into my 88Vr to do carbs, valve adjust etc. OringsUSA.com sells most any type/size of O-ring cheap $0.50 for quality viton vs $6 each from dealer. Based on Yammy part number the Manifold to head O-rings are 45mm, not sure of thickness. Anybody ever gotten these from other sources than Yammy. What do you guys use to set float levels. I'm thinking you need to have a replacement bowl plug with a nipple threaded in to accept some clear tubing. This is the best forum ever to answer these cheap bastard (which I am) questions.

Hello all, I am in need a of some parts for my 87 VR. I need the left fairing top. I don't need the inner part just the frame, with the speaker hole and such, also the louvered vent for same. I also need one louvered vent for a lower fairing. While I am at it here, can I still get front turn sygnals at the Yammy dealer or am I better off asking here? If anyone can help me out on this I would appreciate it. Thanks http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z80/dkaiser1963/DSCF2576.jpg D
