I love doing this - it's called Aussie 'oneupmanship'. We're doing the count down to 2013 and as I type we have eight minutes to go. So - Happy New Year to y'all whenever it gets to you (about 10 hours or so). I hope you didn't fall over that fiscal cliff!

Well I just got back from the Eye Doctor and it isn't healing as well from my accident. getting some blank spots and double vision at times. Figured I better sell whats left of the bike. Maybe in a year or so I will get another if my eyesight comes back better. Will still keep in touch with y'all and will post some pictures of it when I get back to the house. Squidley was going to sell me most of the parts needed to put her back together.

Now that I have most of the wrinkles ironed out.. the old blonde seems to running like a top. I have put a few hundred miles on her and the last fill up shows 38 miles per gallon. Guess it is time to let her run me somewhere... so its off to Charleston sc for the weekend to visit a friend. Hopefully the journey will be as silky smooth as this v4 lol If any of y'all are in chucktown this weekend hit me up... Always for meetin and greetin fellow enthusiast! While in town I should be getting her loaded up with an led glow kit ... You know... To accentuate the safety chrome

I don't post much but I have to share this. I went to my 4th PGR mission today at DFW National and while waiting for the briefing a medium sized HD (maybe a Dyna, I think bigger than a Sportster, not really sure, I was looking at the guy in amazement) came tooling by ridden by a guy with his right arm completely missing. Turns out he was part of the escort for the hero and part of the funeral party so I didn't get a chance to talk to him or look at his bike closer. Yall may have seen this before but it was a new one on me. I'm still slack jawed about it. He was a real slim dude, too. Couldn't have weighted over 150 lbs. Maybe less. I was impressed. Just Jim

And PUHLEEZE let's not have snide remarks from the 1st genners .... (as if that would ever happen) Just wondering about this ... as we all know, some vehicles come off the assembly line at the wrong time of day or week and turn out to be a lemon. Similarly, certain years of a given run of vehicles seem to be better than others so... What year of the 2nd gen seemed to stand out as a better production year than others? Had the least amount of issues, least number of clutch basket whiners, least number of assembly screw-ups, etc, least number of rear shock early failures and so on.... Do we have any stats on this? Any thoughts from ya'll on this? Something for ya'll to jaw about while I'm away to Kruisn Kootenays to keep ya'll out of trouble..

Some of you know that the reason I haven't been on the site is that we haven't had internet at the new house. I ended up getting an AT&T Hotspot wifi transmitter that uses cell towers and 4G to get hooked up. It works but I'm not crazy about having to spend $60+ a month for internet. I have this thing for 30 days to try it, and if I want I can return it and get out of the contract (which I wont go into that rant) I need other options from y'all, I wont waste my money on Huges Net and besides what we have right now, that is the only other option. I'm too far from a distribution center to be able to get DSL, and dialup will just irritate me and I have enough irritants in my life right now. I am open for any ideas or suggestions you have

So, with the Waller maintenence day behind us, I thought possibly y'all might like a couple pictures to caption and chuckle at

The Big Day has finally arrived. James (Highlander) Tut (a Harley Davidson owner friend) and I are leaving Wednesday morning from Fayetteville, Ga. at 6am on our trip. Now this may be a little long so bare with me as we are going to put about 11,500 miles on our Ventures (and HD) in about 28 days. (I sure hope the HD holds up:fingers-crossed-emo). I'm not going to mention the cities as it will take to long for my two little fingers to type. But the states are, GA, Tn, Ky, Il, Mo, Nb, Ia, SD, Wy, Mt, Wy, Id, Mt, Id, Wa, Or, Ca, Na, Az, Ut, Co, Ks, Mo, Il, Ky, Tn and finally back in Ga. My hurts just thinking about it. Now is the part where you come in. I would like all of you to keep us in your thoughts and prayers that everything goes alright and we all arrive at our homes safe and sound. Oh and a little prayer wouldn't hurt to keep us on our time table. See ya'll in about a month, Yamaduck
