A young kid working as a Jimmy John's driver was at the curb and really not moving as I traveled 3/4 block at 25mph. Just as I reached him he hit his left turn signal and then turned in front of me, headed to a driveway to turn around, as I was driving by. He started lying about things and if it goes to court he'll probably claim I was illegally passing him on a residential street by then. Little by little he's changed his story so far. My view, he negligently failed to check his side view to ascertain that it was safe to pull into lane much less to cross traffic to driveway on opposite side of street. I had the police come out but officer said he is supposed to write a ticket if he can but he didn't see it and didn't feel able to write a ticket. He didn't even record our respective views on the accident at the time. So much for professional witness. He might still be useful if there is a court appearance, but it would be nice if it didn't come to that I suppose. It seems that police here don't write tickets to protect motorcyclists from disregard of car drivers. The kid's dad says he wants to possibly try to save the kid's insurance by paying me on the side for damages. I may have bent forks, anti-dive busted off, bits of signal plastic and other stuff all about. I haven't had a good daylight look at it yet but it rolled all the way over onto the left side cowling so I expect bad things. I had removed side plastics but also engine guards while I'm working on some stuff. 1. Should I have this painful, firm, tuna can sized lump on my thigh checked out? 2. Should I try to deal with this guy or just go to my agent? Got Liability only. 3. Please give me a ballpark estimate of costs if you're able, sorry the description is so vague but I need orders of magnitude. 4. I have the blue color for 1993, what other years had this same color and what is it called? 5. What am I not even thinking of that I should be concerned over? The car insulated the young kid from the accident while I took it on physically with my motorcycle and myself.

On an 85 trunk there are two rubber feet that fit in two holes in the mounting rack. This is an 85 only item.. Does anyone have a wrecked trunk from and 85 that I could get these "feet" from?

Anyone have a MKII right handle bar grip end section just laying around. It can be in really bad condition. My wrecked 91 VR right handle bar got bent down vertically so bad that the bike is unmoveable. I just need one so I can move the wrecked VR in and out of the garage when needed. I'm not sure but maybe the end I need are interchangeable left or right. -
Yes I do know I left myself wide open with that statement I'm getting to the point where I want to start looking at putting some time in on the '99. What I need from you folks here is this, I want to locate a smashed 2nd Gen, I dont care about the plastic. It obviously cant look like a pretzel, but I need the hardware off the bike and perhaps some of the sub assembly framework. I will go crazy trying to nickle and dime find all this stuff so I'd like to purchase a complete wrecked bike. I will be watching Crashed Toys and other such sites, but if you could pass on info if you see a wrecked RSV in your local Craigslist or any other listings I would really appreciate it.

Ok guys this is like almost a dream come true. I am parting out a 84' wrecked Venture. It was wrecked at 1,032 miles and has never seen the sun since. I bought it at estate auction and the brother told me it has been in the garage ever since the wreck. Like I said "almost a dream come true" it has already partially been dismantled over time some pcs have been lost. I'm really wanting to add a 2nd Gen to the stable, but funds are a bit tight. I was looking at a couple bikes online that are wrecked, but appear to only have minor body damage. Mostly busted plastic. Has anyone here took on a project like rebuilding such a bike? I'm just wondering if taking on a project like that would be worth while. Most of the bikes I have seen are going for about half the normal price. What do you guys think?

Hi guys (and gals), Hope all are enjoying the early spring. The other night I took the Venture out (89 model) and did not get far. Headlight was pointing down towards the ground. Tried the adjusting nut, no change. Next day I went to investigate. Took the front headlight moulding off, and lo and behold, the freaking headlight unit is attached with 2 wire ties, were I am assuming there should be 2 bolts. I don't know what I have gotten into, bike came with a clear title but all kinds of alarms are going off. Did I get a wrecked bike that was rebuilt? Confidence is low right now. -

I have locks on the saddlebags and trunk for my 07 RSV but, I do not have the key. These bags were installed after the bike had been wrecked. Can these be rekeyed? Or, locks purchased that match the ignition?

My Step Son wrecked his 750 Suzuki this afternoon. He was getting on the parkway and an 18 wheeler had pulled into the other lane to let him in and then pulled back in on him. He said the last he remembered was hitting the brakes. It scattered parts for nearly 1/8 mile. Looked like the truck actually hit the bike. He had his leather on, but still has several scratches. This is his first day home on leave from the Army. Not a good way to start a vacation!!

My wife wrecked her 95 Yamaha Virago last Thursday and I need to find someplace where I can get some parts. It didn't hurt the bike too badly but it does need a few little parts. She was wearing all her gear so she's sore with no broken bones or road rash. TIA, Eddie

I need a radio control for my 1999 Venture. Does anyone know where a used one can be bought? Or someone with a wrecked Venture that is parting it out? Thanks
