Don't know if any of you are familiar with a British car show called Top Gear. It is a great show and I watch it on the computer. Just watched season 17 episode 6. Talk about hero's! A group of amputees wounded in Afghanistan are going to go into the Dakar rally, only the toughest race in the world.

WOW!!! This last 48 hours has been quite something, what a time to be Scott & White Security, Our Officers did an excellent job. I am so proud of each and every one of them. I was able to visit and talk to some of the wounded brought in, just kids really, very heroic. The shooter was taken to BAMC in San Antonio yesterday afternoon, now to care for and help assist the families of the wounded. The turn out for blood donations was incredable and the support by the community was heart warming. People were just wanting to help any way they could. Local resturants were delivering food and drinks throughout the night at no charge. We knew we had the shooter early on but could not tell anyone for obvious reasons. It was strange to see him in ICU and then walk down the very same hallway and see many of his victims within just a few feet. The Doctors seem confident that the soldiers we have at S&W will live but some will have a difficult time of recovery. Thanks to all the brave men and women who serve and have served in our armed forces, the dangers they face everyday can come from anywhere at any time both foriegn and domestic. I wish these cowards would have the guts to face any one of these brave men and women in a "fair" fight but I guess that would not please Mohamad.

The Patriot Guard escorted some 30 wounded Marines from the Greenville/Pickens Speedway through Easley and Clemson (SC) to Keowee Key for a week long "rehabilitation vacation". Thanks to some fancy dilly-dallying around I managed to 'spend' some extra time on one of my properties to allow me an opportunity to have a front row seat at the beginning of the run. My guess is that there were probably some 100 bikes escorting these guys. I'm sorry to say that the coach they were in had dark tinted windows and you couldn't see them!!! And due to the miracle of technology I can't seem to attach pictures:soapbox:

i don't really know where to start this, so i'll just post the particulars, and field questions as they arise. on MAY 3, 2008, a group of local sponsors, are going to be bringing about 200, "wounded warriors", down from "BROOKS ARMY MEDICAL CENTER, in san antonio. these guys are all wounded COMBAT veterans, who are in the processes of healing. they will be treated to a day of fishing and visiting at PORT O'CONNOR, TEXAS. they will be coming down by bus, and escorted EVERY inch of the way, by local leo's and pgr riders. EVERYONE is invited to come down and show their support. just pick out one of these "broken warriors",and spend the day "just being there for him/her". or visit with ALL of them. their immediate families, are often hundreds of miles away, and they have nothing to do but sit around BAMC, and recover. our south texas P.G.R , guys will be there to do what ever we can to make this happen , and be a success. . disclaimer: if i have offended anyone , with this post, let me apologize now, and be done with it. just jt.
