I was oringinally scheduled to leave today for the Oregon-N. California coast but one of my riding companions had a death in the family so we had to postpone our start until Thursday morning. We'll be taking a northerly route from Central Ky through IN, IL, IA, MN, SD, MT and WA (I-90) on our way to Portland where we will pick up our wives on Monday. From there we'll head on to the coast and follow it down to San Fransisco and on to Big Sur. From there we'll head east through Yosemite and then south to Las Vegas where we'll drop the wives at the airport before we head back across I-40 toward home. So if you see 2 Goldwings and a Tour Deluxe along that route give us a wave or stop us for a chat, I'm sure we'll need a break. After Thursday morning you can follow our SPOT track by going to http://spotwalla.com/tripViewer.php?id=2fd74df6c9a6b12d4 Dennis

Jamie and I arrived back in Newnan about 10:30 pm Sunday nite. I have to give a big thanks to Brad & Lonna for their great hospitality, and especially for Lonna's outstanding cheesecake....I never ate cheese cake I like, but I am hooked on Lonna's............they are outstanding. Only bad thing is we forgot the leftover's in the fridge......:crying:........ Meet some great guys and their wives, 3 Dons, still dont have them straight, Rock Hound from Amarillo, he bought Jamie's trailer, Gunboat, Ponch and his lovely petite wife Kathy, Kreggerdoodle, and I just dont plain remember them all because by the time we got to Brads I had been up since 4:30am Friday morning, and didnt get any sleep till about 10:30 Sat. nite...........I was toast. But we had a great time, and thanks to MasterGuns I got me a 1986 1300 engine and frame which Squidley picked up for me and stored in is just a little bit crowded garage. Thanks again Brad. Wish we could have stayed longer but we had to get back and help the wives at the big moving sale Jamie and Paula were having. I would post pics but I cant figure out how to download them from my phone.............:bang head: If you havent met the Houston gang you are missing out of some really fun people. If I was closer I would be there all the time..............

Who Is That Person Behind The Wheel? Truckers are found on highways, in truckstops, in service bays, on loading docks, on back roads and at fuel stops, and often they are the first at the scene of an accident. Their wives help them. Little boys follow them. Relatives don't understand them. Meals must wait for them. Weather can delay them. But nothing can stop them. A trucker is a paradox. He is a blue-jeaned executive with his office in the cab. He is a scientist who hauls dangerous chemicals and explosives, a purchasing agent in a baseball cap, a personnel director with grease under his fingernails, a poor eater with a fondness for burgers and fries, a student of geography and a weather watcher. He likes sunshine, children, smooth pavement, good traction, clean loads, dinner at home, weekends with his family, an unbuttoned shirt collar and country music. And there is a special place in his heart for his rig. He's not fond of city traffic, tourists who are rotten drivers, fuel prices, dispatchers, snarly recievers, kids in high-powered cars and least of all, drunk drivers. Nobody else can get as much satisfaction out of talking about trucks, truckers, good weather, homemade pie, strong hot coffee, kids, wives, sweethearts and the price of fuel. He is your friend and customer. He is your source of food, clothing, petroleum and natural resources. In fact, nearly everything in your life arrived in his truck. And when he comes home late at night after a long and tiring trip, the energy sapped from his hopes and dreams, he can be lifted up once more by those magic words, "DADDY'S HOME!" If you got it, a trucker brought it!
