Wrecked my 06 RSV and looking at a 03 GL1800 to replace it. I'll miss the RSV but like the lower CG on the Goldwing. Any words of wisdom or recommendations concerning Goldwings in general or a particular model year?

If I do have to get my wisdom teeth out, I will take a taxi home! This clip is of a brother and sister who both had their wisdom teeth taken out and are headed home! :rotf::rotf: Warning! It is a little lengthy and you might have a chuckle or two! [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ig-pZ4OyidY]YouTube - Brother and Sister Dental Odyssey[/ame]

I'm getting ready to drive 3+ hours to go look at a 1989 that has 20K miles on it. Never owned one of these bikes before so any input is much appreciated. The bike looks really clean and in great shape. But other than that who knows. He's asking $3500 and sounds like he's willing to move just a tad but not much. I'd really appreciate any wisdom from those who have been there before me. I probably have to ride it home so I am a bit wary since it has not been riden much in the last couple years. Thanks to all. Chris

I have had him for guessing around 30+ yrs. Sometimes lately he has been a real pain, but I lost a dear friend today. Now I just feel like I have a big hole inside me. RIP lower left wisdom tooth.

I recently bought a 1987 XVZ13DT and started to clean it up. The boost sensor wasn't working so replaced it with a newer used one, it did help with the backfire problem to some degree but the bike still backfires . The symptoms are that if you slowly come onto the throttle it will reach 4000 rpm then crap out badly. If you crank the throttle on it backfires really badly and will not pickup RPM. Backfires through number 2 carb and the exhaust. The slides do not move much and just dance about at a partial opening when the backfiring starts. Timing is okay, carbs are synched (checked them). Ignition coils and wires are good according to the manual, pickup coils are are okay (a least all the resistances match my other Venture which runs great). TheTDI is a newer one. Battery is new and fully charged. I checked the fuel pump pressure which is good. Grounds are cleaned up good. It starts up and idles but has a slght miss on idle. Comperssion is 170 accross all four cylinders. The carb slide diaphrams are visually good on all 4 as are the slides. Plugs are new but black an sooty as are the exh pipes. So my thoughts are dirty carbs and a lean out a higher RPM as I have done all I can to the igintion system in terms of newer parts. Seems it will not transition to the high speed loop of the carbs. Hoping for some wisdom in how to fix the problem. The bike was an ebay buy and is a real looker chrome wise but chrome don't get you home. I have redone the fork seals and bushings, new steering head bearings and progressive springs with superbrace. Newer rotors and brake pads. Have an 83 XVZ12TDK as well which has been a great ride I would take anywhere and have. Any wisdom to confirm my thoughts or any ideas are surely welcome. This is a great site and have noticed some really great people willing to help keep these classic bikes on the road. Sincere best wishes to you all.

In the last couple of days Ive noticed that my headlight warning light, highbeam indicator light plus my engine temp indicator have all quit on my 85 1st gen. I havnt had a chance to look at the ride yet to try to diagnose, but are these all on the same fuse? Or is it a sign my instrument cluster is headed south on me? I would like to get a few ideas so when I get time I can try them out and see what works. Thanks for all your input, I really appreciate the shared wisdom. Brian

I just purchased (stole!) a 2001 Kendon dual trailer to haul my 2000 MM RSV on. Haven't loaded the RSV on it yet and thought I should ask everyone who trailers their RSV what I should look to do when tying it down? Any words of wisdom on Kendon trailers? Thanks,

Hi all. Here's an interesting thread started by Moose on the Venture UK forums, I've copied and pasted it here to see what our friends over the pond think? Unfortunately no one's answered his query on the UK forums, could be because the 1st gen is quite rare here. So as Moose finishes off, I'll leave it to the masters wisdom, you've all been riding these bike since day 1 so who better to ask. Thanks all, Woz. Hi everyone, I'm sorry to ask this, but as you may have read I am new to the Venture and I need to know what you mean when you say 1st & 2nd generation Ventures. Sorry for being DIM http://www.yamahaventureclub.co.uk/forum//smileys/smiley2.gif I have read that the brakes on the Venture are left lacking at times. Do you agree, if so is there a fix to improve them? your wisdom is sought O masters.......... Thanks, Moose.
