My auto windshield wiper fluid squirter seems to be restricted some. Would poring some Sea Foam into the windshield wiper fluid reservoir be a good thing or is there a better solution?

Just about every one of us at one time or another has had the occasion to ride in the rain, sometimes on purpose, sometimes not, and one of the biggest problems of riding in the rain with a helmet (or glasses/goggles) is visibility. Rain/fog on a face shield or glasses lense can lower visibility to next to nothing. I've always contented myself with attempting to wipe the rain off with my gloves, but i think I've found the answer for everyone that's ever had this problem... WIPER GLOVES!!! The best part is you make it yourself! Check out the instructable http://www.instructables.com/id/wiper-glove/ to find out how! ***Disclaimer: I did not write this instructable, I just happened to find it and felt that others could benefit***

The '08 Venture just hit 800 miles so I decided to take her in for 1st maintenance today. It was very nasty out but I figured I could make it before the rain set it...NOT. I rode 45 miles in a wicked downpour and I have to say, I'm impressed. This may be old had to most here but having never owned a touring bike I was amazed at how well the bike handled in this weather and no less amazed at how dry I stayed with NO raingear on. My only complaint was the windshield visibility so I am going to challenge my buddy to manufacture a wiper and motor to put on it. If I had a wiper on there it would have been a perfect ride. Again, sorry for such a long rave but I was too impressed to keep my mouth shut.

Ran across a guy on a Goldwing with a windshield wiper. I asked him if it scratched his windshield and he said it had a little bit, but not much. He said it worked pretty good. RandyA

Sending Unit Repair Thanks to Brian H. (6m459) for this excellent article. I measured my sender unit resistance and found it to be open circuit as was suggested by another member. I removed it from the tank to find that the wiper would loose contact with the resistance wire at the mid point, of the float travel, as the resistance wire substrate is warped. It made good contact at top and bottom but not in the middle. I found that there is a handy adjustment available that lets you re-tension the wiper quite easily. Undo the screw and slide the bushing closer to the resistance wire, against a compression leaf spring, then re-tighten the screw. All seems to work well again now but I'll be keeping a close eye on it for the next little while. Shown with cover removed. Note bend in resistor wire substrate. http://www.venturerider.org/sendingunit/1%20(Small).jpg The wire loses contact with the resistor midway. http://www.venturerider.org/sendingunit/2%20(Small).jpg Solution: Loosen screw, slide wiper closer, retighten. http://www.venturerider.org/sendingunit/3%20(Small).jpg Close up view. http://www.venturerider.org/sendingunit/4%20(Small).jpg
