http://blog.motorcycle.com/2010/10/29/products/cardo-scala-goes-hollywood/ I've never heard of this movie...but apparently theres a guy on a bike in the movie. Which is usually a good thing. Except in the movie Hog Wild. What a piss-poor portrayal of bikers. But I digress. Anyway, check it out.

Total as of 23/Aug/2010 - 23:10 (Central) = $998.01 (including PayPal's cut). Thanks to all who have contributed thus far! If you would like to contribute to the Wild Hair/LAPryor assistance fund, please use the link below. It is setup through PayPal. I will forward ALL of the proceeds directly to Lowell. NOTE: I will maintain a total tally and update it daily at the top of this thread. I do NOT intend on publishing or sharing any type of list of specific member's names AND amounts donated with anyone. As far as I am concerned, when each and every donation gets turned over to Lowell it will be presented as a donation from 'the family'. As for specific accounting, I WILL keep very careful records on my own - just to make sure that every penny is accounted for and re-directed AS IT IS INTENDED TO BE. https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_donations&business=lilbeaver27%40hotmail%2ecom&lc=US&item_name=Wildhair39%2fLAPryor%20Assistance%20Fund¤cy_code=USD&bn=PP%2dDonationsBF%3abtn_donate_LG%2egif%3aNonHosted If you have any questions about this, please let me know. For those of you that have mentioned that you would like to help out Lowell. The following links give some more info, I will also briefly describe it here. The intro information on the fund effort: http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=52037 Motivation for the fund effort: http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?threadid=51974 I have had the privilege of meeting and riding with Lowell as well as chat with him on the phone. He is a great guy. Many others know him much better and have known him for much longer than I have, but regardless he has been having a hard time lately. One piece of all of the events going on as of recently included him moving. It is my understanding that in the loading process of his 'cow-a-saki' (as he puts it) the bike bottomed out on the trailer and damaged the oil pan. Eck and some of our other fantastic members [forgive me for leaving out your names - nothing personal] are in the process of arranging the repair of L A Pryor's bike. The current estimate of the repair seems to be a minimum of $200 in parts alone. Lowell had an estimate for a total of ~$300 for the repair, but that of course did not include getting his bike from Springfield, MO to western TN where the repair would be done. So, in addition to the cost of repairing the bike there is the travel expense of getting the bike to and from the shop (which is being handled by our members). The alternative is for a few of our members to meet up at Lowell's to do the repair there. Regardless, any donation made here will be passed on to Lowell. I will NOT leave this open indefinitely but will give a few days notice before I pull the link down. I will wait until 'we' have Lowell's situation resolved before pulling the link. THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR GENEROSITY AND CONSIDERATION!!!! Each and every penny counts! - Rick M.

I am about to start off on a new adventure. The story starts with a very close friend of mine from my pipeband being diagnosed with cancer. This happened as we lost another member to same type of cancer. Paul is his name and he has had his thyroid and other items removed. Now they cant find any remaining cancer but doctors as they are wanted to bombard him with chemo and radiation. The toll it was taking on him was astronomical so he said enough is enough. Mind you they cand find any remaining cancer and they are doing this to him. Paul sought alternative treatment in a place in Arizona and will be there for for 6 weeks. Just before he left we were at his house around the campfire. In the last year he lost his business, he is getting divorced, and got cancer but he knows he has the band, his bike and his friends, Us. Just in a passing thought we suggested that we should fly out so see him while he is away. They say everyone needs something to look forward to and this became his motivation!!! Wild Hogs!!! With this we will be flying out to see my buddy. Four of us middle aged guys on the adventure of our life. Taking the weekend and riding to the Canyon. Bagpipes and drums in the saddle bags to play at the canyon. Some stories we will be able to tell and others will be under the "Vegas" rule. Since we started planning this the life that has come back to Paul is incredible!!! Stories for a lifetime! "Piper Hogs go Wild"!!!!!

1) Do you see any way to enlarge the gas tank (or carry another one somewhere)? I would really like 6-7 gallon total capacity. 2) Front suspension seems real complicated with anti-dive, split brakes, small calipers, and I'm not too wild about the 18" skinny wheel. Can this be simplified allot (somehow)? I just bought a 1st gen and I'm looking to modernize & simplify it. Thanks, Mark Koontz (Wichita) PS- Also looking for driver floorboards.

Have you ever seen that You-tube video by an American biker in, I think, Japan about the various waves bikers have? He has a helmet mounted video and is a good rider, going through heavy traffic like a pro, while demonstrating various waves, ending with his wild mockery including turning around looking backwards and waving both hands like shooting guns (or something similar). well, yesterday, I came upon a biker (Harley of course) that seemed like he had seen that video and was making fun of those of us that do a brotherly wave at other bikes. He took both hands up in a "quotes" style series of moves. Made me laugh. Still, am sad for the mostly Harley riders that seem too stuck up to bother waving at a metric rider. Guess they are too busy dreaming of being in the next "Wild Hogs" movie! LOL

Well living out here in Colorado, I don,t seem to have the opportunity to meet very many members, but today was my lucky day! I saw a thread by Wild Hair 39 talking about visiting Denver, so I let him know if he needed anything while here I would be willing to help. He did'nt need anything, but we did meet for Coffee this morning, What a Blast. Not good enough. While we were at coffee DNBoll was looking at Ventureriders and saw Wild Hair's thread and gave him a call. We were at coffee, so we invited him over and sure enough he droped in, COOL. So I got to meet 2 members, what a great time we had. Gene-b

After a good night's rest and a few cups of coffee , Wild Hare is on the road again, heading west on I-20 towards Atlanta! Where he stops next, only Sleeperhawk and Mechanic know!!!!:cool10: P.S. I took over 650 pictures of this weekend, have edited them down to about 619 and Sleeperhawk will start the tedious task of uploading them to Photobucket later!:)
