Just bought a 2005 Tour Deluxe. Notice the distinct whine/whistle at lower speeds and during acceleration. Seems to go away if I pull in the clutch or let off the throttle, not so noticable on the freeway. This appears to be a common phenomenon and I have seen it attributed to Clutch, transmission, and/or shaft. Looking for help here as to what exactly this is and what I need to do to have this fixed or reduced (if possible) and if I cant do it myself, how much it should cost and who can fix it. Thanks for ANY help. Paul

Fall is upon us, and with it getting darker earlier and with our white tail friends getting ready to run amok, I added a few very inexpensive safety items that I picked up at Wally World today. The LED lights are mounted on both right and left side saddle bag rails and can be solid or blinking for additional visibility from the sides at night. They take 2 AAA batteries each and will run for 400- 500 hours continuous before needing new batts. They cost $8.95 each. I took the bike out for a quick ride tonight, and man can you be seen! The chrome deer whistle is mounted under the right side bag to catch the max amount of wind, and is barely visible, and is also removable by sliding it off the stick-on holder. They came 2 to a package for $7.95, so I mounted the other one under the right side foot pad on the wife's Harley. For that price, I'll probably get two more for the left side of each bike. Can't be too careful this time of year.

Does anyone use the electronic deer whistles on their bike? If so any recommendations? Thanks

Well, there is.....one "deer whistle"...which always works.... to the detriment of the user. Just let your "dear" catch you whistling to another "dear" and see how fast you attract her attention!

Just installed a set of passing lights on the 08 Venture but now I have a slight whistle I didn't have before. Did this happen to anyone else? I'm sure it's the lights cause I didn't add anything else. Could it be possible the fairing is the culpret? Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

Where the heck are the vacuum pump, actuator, and the solenoid valve for the cruise control located?? My cruise doesn't work, and I've got a whistle somewhere under the fairing! Aside from driving me crazy, I really would like the cruise to work!! I'm guessing the whistle is coming from one of the vacuum lines because my engine runs great, pulls hard, and doesn't miss or sputter. I'm getting 40mpg, and I ride kinda fast to and from work (70 - 80mph), 40 miles round trip everyday. The cruise has worked on and off since I bought the bike three years ago. One of the problems was a worn out clutch lever, then a bad switch on the clutch side. When I do the ops check that the service manual offers, everything checks out good. I just need to check the vacuum lines, but I have to find them first!!!
