Heavy frost and 28 degrees yesterday morning. Greeted this morning by a thin layer of snow/sleet. Mid 30's rain and snow for this weekend here in Western Nebraska. Several motorcycle related events cancelled or post poned.

If any of the riders in Western Washington have the Valve Shim Kit, and Tool for the Second Generation bikes, and are willing to allow me to borrow it for a couple days, please let me know. If no one does have the Valve Shim Kit and Tool in our area, then let's make certain of that, and I will go ahead and buy a new Kit and Tool, and have it available for use of all forum members in Western Washington. We might even let those rainy day people down in Oregon use our stuff . So, if you have the shim kit and tool, please contact me. Thanks,

Hello Everyone: Thought I might ask. Are their any members that need a job or are retiring and might consider relocating to Western Nebraska? I feel we could help in the search for a job. Some jobs start at $14/hr. My parents property is for sale or rent? (3) homes on 8 acres. Main home is 3 bedroom, 2 bath with central air. 22X60 block garage. Two mobile home rentals. Live in one rent the others to make the payment. 3 hours away from the Black Hills or Colorado mountains. Small town, 2500 population, Good schools, friendly people, clean air and no traffic. Arid climate, temps cool off at night.

I have just spoken with George the Gen. Mgr at the Best Western in Blairsville, and as of now I have a rate of $62.99 and the rate is good Wed. thru Sat. That is the best he would do. I tried to get him to come down to the rate at the Seasons Inn, but he wouldnt budge, but it is still a pretty good rate. Well, the good news is that Eileen, Dylan and I are on our way to Texas. We had planned to leave tomorrow but got away late today. Only drove about 5 1/2 hours or so but made it just south of Louisville, KY today and stopped early. The bad news is that I got an email from my company today. I need to enjoy this vacation because they just told me that they are increasing my territory. I used to have Ohio, Western PA and Western NY. They then replaced Western PA and Western NY and gave me Indiana and Michigan. Now they are telling me that I am keeping Ohio, Indiana and Michigan but they are adding back Western PA and Western NY and also giving me all of Kentucky and all of West Virginia. So there are some busy times when I get back from vacation. Oh well...I DO still have a job.

If you ever find your way passing through Western Nebraska perhaps on the way to other destinations such as Colorado mountains, Yellowstone in Wyoming or the Black Hills of SD. Besure to let us know you are coming. I would love to meet some of my fellow owners and riders. We are planning our annual trip to the Black Hills of SD the week before Sturgis. long story boring ,the wife and i have rented a GW GL1500 Aspencade for 10 days, for our trip back to Scotland . so i'd like to know from some of you Wingers, about the range of these bikes, on a full tank of gas (petrol). the owner says its a small tank but it gets around 250 miles . now im thinking thats pretty good but i'd like to know if thats about right .we're gonna be traveling in mostly rural areas(single track roads mainly) ,down to Yorkshire then back up to the Western Isles ,Skye and Lewis . so in the grand scheme of things that aint that many miles, but if youve ever seen some of these areas ,theres a lot of scenery(and rain) but not much else.not good places to run out of gas(petrol) .so any and all info etc would be appreciated.

OK here's the agenda so far. We are leaving on the 27th around noon give or take. We are meeting up with Dingy in Madison Ohio sometime late afternon to exchange a couple of parts and some convewrsation/refreshments at exit 169 (or was it 167?) I think. We want to make it to at least Cincinatti that day. ATTN: Yama Mama, maybe meet up with you and Ron for a bit?? Sunday we plan on getting to Murray Ky. by early evening at the Best Western Hotel near the airport. Drop off Sexi Monday morning and are available for free time with any members in the area. This includes Monty, B2Dad and Mom plus a few other members close by I think. Want to see Monte's new scoot!! I'm leaving it up to Monte to work out the details, late dinner on Sunday is also an option. We check out of the Best Western Tuesday morning and are on our way to Nashville for 2 days. Staying at a Hampton for two nites, can't remember which one but will supply the info later. Anybody in the area there?? Lets meet up!! Thursday night back to the same Best Western, and pick up Sexi Friday after the surgery. Can't wait!!! Head back Friday evening, destination??? Travel the rest of the way home Saturday just in time for Easter Sunday and family over for dinner. Want to see the Corvette Museum and assembly plant in Bowling Green some time during the week as well if possible, but not a "have to do" event. We can always do it some other time in a couple of years. Input??

Just got back from the bike show at the Tradex in Abbotsford. Got a hand out from Best Western which promises special rates and points rewards, room upgrades etc, but only for Harley riders. It states that it is exclusively for Harley riders and is covered with Harley logos. I think I will contact them and express my displeasure at being excluded from this because I ride a Venture. bestwestern.com/h-devents. Other than that the show was good. Sat on the new/old Venture and Bilco came over. We talked about Neslon for a bit. I sat on the new V-MAX and it reminded me of my old Madura. Some very interesting custom bikes there.

My new RSV has been sitting in the garage for 3 weeks since I bought it waiting for me to finish a huge work project and today is the day!!! It is going to be an awesome day here in Western NY and she is idling in the driveway right now. Its 44 degrees currently and it will only get warmer. WAHOO!!!! See ya on the flip side!

Any place recommended for a nice dinner in Allentown. I'm thinking $15.00 a plate or less. Co says not to splurge whatever that means.I'm not staying two nights in Secacaus NJ so I booked a room at the Best Western in Allentown for Thursday night. I got MamaMo along for the ride Co paid her way to keep me out of trouble!:whistling: So HOOTERS IS OUT.

We're leaving in the morning for our Eastern TN, Western VA loop. See http://rideplanner.harley-davidson.c...r/share/236707 We plan to overnight in Abingdon, VA Friday night and Kingsport TN Saturday night. Does anyone have recommendation for a good (non-chain) restaurant in those areas? Or anywhere else along the way? Any sites that we need to make sure we see? If you see a blue RSV, a Goldwing, a black HD Ultra, a black Vulcan, and a black V45 Magna driving by wave us down. Thanks, Dennis

I was just thinking that we havnt had anything much in western Canada for rallies or meetand eats. I would like to see a show of hands of anyone that might be interested in a rally or a meetand eat in Alberta or southeastern BC next summer.( I was thinking maybe Fernie, Camrose or whereever you guys think is a good spot that we could get some people out to.) Well, I know I haven't posted much lately and I apologize for that. Most of you know that there has been a lot going on in our lives lately. After the passing of our grandson and upon Eileen's return home, we just needed some time to sit back and relax, reflect on things. The time has been good for us and things are getting back to normal now. Yesterday I got a call from my company to let me know that they are changing up our sales territories a bit. I previously covered OH, Western NY, Western PA, WV and Eastern KY. I am told that I will no longer be covering any of NY but have been given the entire state of Indiana. The net result is that I now have more customers and also a bit more distance to cover. I have mixed feelings about it. I do like Indiana and it will be a nice change to travel some less familiar roads but the increased distance is sort of a bummer. Not too bad though. There are parts of NY that I really liked and will miss. I always enjoyed the Finger Lakes area.
