Going to Fort Wayne, Indiana for three weeks of job training. Staying at the Marriott Courtyard off exit 111b, Lima Road & I-69. Just wondering what the area is like and who is around there for a M & E? I was thinking of riding the RSV down and do some riding after class. Later-

OK folks...here is what I have at this time for the VR Guardian Bells. I spoke to the manufacturer yesterday and the model is done. He is emailing me a photo of the wax model tomorrow and then said that it should take more than 3 or 4 days to get them cast. So...I figure that by the time he gets them shipped to me and I get them shipped to you, it will probably be another couple of weeks before you actually receive them. Please check this list and verify that I have received your order. If you are not listed, it means I either missed your order when compiling the list or I have not yet received your order. Please let me know if you are not listed here and thought that you had ordered. As you can see, the orders have come in very nicely. I am very pleased with the response to this and thank ALL of you for not leaving me sitting on a bunch of these. If my calculations are correct, I still have about 70 remaining and it's nice to have some on hand for future orders. Also, I can order more at any time and will not have to order the 250 minimum next time. I can probably order them 100 at a time now if I need to. Gentlemen , I absolutely love this forum as a wonderful source of information! That being said , I was thinking of installing a CD player but after reading several posts, I believe an MP3 player may be a better choice? Is there a "clean looking way" other than using the aux plug on cassette deck, which I plan on converting to storage box as seen on other posts and since mine doesn't operate anyway, and is there a wiring harness or adapter to accomplish this? We ride in some remote areas that radio reception is poor at best. I may have placed this in the wrong forum as I have a '99 yamaha venture...don't know how to move to gen 2. Thanks for your help in advance! Last edited by Wayne McClain; Today at 09:23 PM. It's possible that I may need to look for a new career path. Ever since I was a kid I wanted to drive the big rigs. Do we have any truckers and can you spare some info and advice? Thanks in advance. Wayne

Once again this bbs has proven to be MORE than worth admission. I was in a quandry about how to set up routes on my Zumo 550 and wizard765 was kind enough to call me (4 times) til he caught me at home. He did point out that I misled him when I said I was retired and was always home Well, I am retired but somehow I keep busy doin' "stuff" As it turns out, I've had a zumo for over 2 years and didn't have a clue what it was capable of but thanks to Wayne, I got a great lesson today. Thanks Wayne :clap2: btw - Just call ahead for reservations at Malvern Hilton and a personalized tour of the area. Don't tell anybody that there is an amish community within an hour of the Hilton.

Went for a ride on the bikes to see the in laws. They live in hvelock so we figured we would get up with everyone on that side of the world we knew. Could only reach a few and a few of them were wanting to go for a ride. Laura and i met up with Wayne and brandy ( aka Salty Dawg and krome rose) for a nice ride from Havelock to Beaufort. Brandy and Laura went antiquing and Wayne and myself went down to the water front for a bit of eye candy. I swear all we were lookking at was the giant boats. Yeah thats my story. Then had a nice lunch /dinner at the dochose before the ride home. Wayne and Brandy we were really happy to see you guys again and had a ball . Thanks for escorting us around yoour area. http://s569.photobucket.com/albums/ss133/painterman6709/memorial%20day%202010%20in%20havelock%20nc/ David

on his knee playing baseball last night. Very swollen and he can't walk on it so it looks like the trip to the Hub is not gonna happen. Now we are asking for a miracle from the LORD and anyone inclined to help in that respect would be appreciated. If the LORD wills it then a miracle would put him back on his feet. Wayne

I am going to be pulling a trailer with cooler on the front. I was wondering if a coolatron would be OK. I don't know the power requirements for the coolatron and I don't know if the stator would be up to the task. So does anyone here know if this would work or should I just keep buying ice? Wayne

Ok a couple of weeks to when we leave for the ralley. On the way to church this morning I lost 1st gear. 84 VR. Starts in neutral and goes up to 2nd and 3rd no problem. Most of the time goes to 4th ok as well and 5th is Ok. Once in awhile 4th is missing too. I shift back down and up again to get it. Was working fine and this happened all of a sudden. I replaced the stator in the spring and had the shifter off to do that but it's worked fine for 6,000 Kms since then so I don't believe that is the problem. So question is what could be causing this and what is the solution? Do I have to remove the engine and split the case? HELP!!!! Wayne

There is a civil war re-enactment at fort wayne in detroit ( yes, i mean it, there is a fort there! ) july 11th and 12th. i dunno if any of you might be history buffs, but it's an interesting place that has been abandoned by the US goverment and we are part of a historical coalition to try and raise funds to preserve it. if you mustered out of the great lakes area to vietnam, there is a good chance you passed through ft wayne. It has been that way since the american civil war. untold millions of young men passed through those gates on the way to serve our country. the italian pilots captured during ww2 were housed there, and it played an important roll in cracking the enigma code during ww2 as well. there are soldier's initials from the civil war carved into the doors and bunks still in the bunkhouse there. it's a pretty neat place. i'm not sure what admission costs, but it is secure parking, and if you got some free time, why not swing by? much of the proceeds go the coliation for preservation of the fort. thanks for your time in reading this guys. - Jared

Dave and I started our grand adventure of zig zagging across this great country of ours last Thursday. Today after a beautiful riding day we found ourselves in Kentucky and we had the pleasure of meeting Joy and Wayne (Joysboy). Joysboy pulled up beside up after following us on route 92. He asked where we were heading and how much pressure we had in our back shocks. Now my butt knew the the pressure was low, but I hadn't convinced Dave of that. Dear Wayne offered to meet us ( he actually came to our hotel) with a handy gadget that checked and added air pressure to the shocks. The shocks are so much better now. Imagine going over bumps and having them not HURT. Thank you ever so much, Wayne, for all your help. Everytime we hit a bump in the road I am going to think of you. And you were right about the cafe. The catfish was wonderful. Have fun riding the Parkway, it is a beautiful ride. Sue T

Hi Folks: I have a friend that dosen't have a computer. He's 78 and loves the 1st gen venture. We found him an 85 in very good condition but he needs all three rotors. Does anyone have any to sell or someplace reasonable to get some that are in good shape? Wayne

Hi Folks: Does anyone know if the antenna mount from an 86 or newer will fit or bolt up to an 84 trunk bracket? The 86 has an S bend in it that lends nicely to having a right angle adapter in place while the 84 is just a straight pipe. Wayne

I know this topic has be hashed over a few times but I was wondering if anyone had tried the helmetless headsets from Sierra http://www.sierra-mc.com/proddetail.asp?prod=IMC%2DHS%2DG45U It appears that they would also work with a half helmet. If they are any good I would be able to keep my half helmet and not have to purchase a 3/4 helmet. But I was thinking they might be noisy. Wayne

Carl and I thought it would be nice to be trapped in a cage for a few hours yesterday so off we went and awhile later we were on the 401 passing London. THEN low and behold not too much later we found ourselves in Windsor. Hmmm .. Somebody we know in Windsor would be in for sure so we headed for the hospital and spent some time with GaryN. Unfortuneatly we ungraciously had to wake him (it was almost noon by then). Once he shook out the cobwebs he was happy to see us and we had a few chuckles talking about bikes and camping and motorhomes etc.. while munching on alcholic chocolate. Good Times!! He is feeling much better and is in Rehab to get his strength built up. Walking is still a little wobbly but getting better all the time. Spirits are improving and he is even considering getting another bike. Maybe not this year depending on his recovery. He loves having visitors and is very happy with the VR family that is showing so much support. GOOD ON YA!! Wayne Oh yeah .. we didn't forget the rule about pictures...

I know some of you guys have done this already so I'm hoping you can give me some help here. I am going to break down and get head sets for the scoot. 84 blonde royale. So it has the intercom built in but I have nothing to plug into. I'm also looking to get a CB as soon as I can find a good one. The J & M headsets look good. Question is what do I need to get besides the headsets. I know I need some more cords and where to they plug in? Wayne
