With the world coming to an end today I just wanted everyone to know what a pleasure it has been. I have thoroughly enjoyed being a member on these forums. It is one of the things I think I will miss most in the next life. I can't help but wonder if there will be motorcycles to ride or if walking will be the norm. Any how, I hope to meet up with all of you on the other side. Mike

I'm standing outside my building where I work, having a smoke and people watching. This is a highrise office tower, downtown Vancouver. It has this decorative "moat" of water that wraps around the front of the building, bordered by a small flower bed and concrete "bridges" to access the building. A courier guy comes out of the side door where I'm standing (no moat there) and walks towards the front of the building.... as he's walking, he's texting and obviously not paying attention .... misses the bridge and walks right into the moat! Gets out of the water, soaking wet ... and continues walking and texting!

The National Weather Service seems to think it will only hit 111 degrees in OKC today. Local stations are predicting breaking the 113 degree record. I only know that I will not be walking on my wood deck in bare feet . . . 169 degrees!

A woman was leaving a convenience store with her morning coffee when she noticed a most unusual funeral procession approaching the nearby cemetery. A black hearse was followed by a second black hearse about 50 feet behind the first one. Behind the second hearse was a solitary woman walking a dog on a leash. Behind her, a short distance back, were about 200 women walking single file. The woman couldn't stand the curiosity. She respectfully approached the woman walking the dog and said, "I am so sorry for your loss, and this may be a bad time to disturb you, but I've never seen a funeral like this. "Whose funeral is it?" "My husband's." ''What happened to him?" The woman replied, "He yelled at me and my dog attacked and killed him." She inquired further, "But who is in the second hearse?" The woman answered, "My mother-in-law. She was trying to help my husband when the dog turned on her." A very poignant and touching moment of sisterhood and silence passed between the two women. "Can I borrow the dog?" The woman replied, "Get in line." :rotfl:

The Importance of Walking Walking can add minutes to your life. This enables you at 85 years old to spend an additional 5 months in a nursing home at $7000 per month. ___________________________________ My grandpa started walking five miles a day when he was 60. Now he's 97 years old and we don't know where he is. __________________________________ I like long walks, especially when they are taken by people who annoy me. ______________________________ The only reason I would take up walking is so that I could hear heavy breathing again. ____________________________________ I have to walk early in the morning, before my brain figures out what I'm doing.. ________________________________________ I joined a health club last year, spent about 400 bucks. Haven't lost a pound. Apparently you have to actually go there. ______________________________________ Every time I hear the dirty word 'exercise', I wash my mouth out with chocolate. ____________________________________ The advantage of exercising every day is so when you die, they'll say, 'Well, he looks good doesn't he.' ____________________________________ If you are going to try cross-country skiing, start with a small country. __________________________________ I know I got a lot of exercise the last few years,...... just getting over the hill. __________________________________ We all get heavier as we get older, because there's a lot more information in our heads. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. ___________________________________ AND Every time I start thinking too much about how I look, I just find a Happy Hour and by the time I leave, I look just fine. You could run this over to your friends But just e-mail it to them.

Looks like my two wheeled riding days may be over. I have had bad knees for a long time. It kept me out of the Military and Police Academy (thank the stars). Well, yesterday, while working for some extra scratch, I jumped out of the back of a Kawasaki Mule.... And I blew my right knee out. This is the worst I have had to deal with. I can't straighten out my leg, it locks up and is very very painful. I can't bare any weight on it, at all. If I do put weight on it, it bends sideways and well... I seem to find the ground pretty fast and stings of foul words boil out. I'm really freakin out. I won't be able to do all the things I love doing. Fishing, Hunting and most of all riding the scooter. Not sure what I am going to do for work... Everything I do involves walking I'm in the middle of getting my Bail Bonds License and even that requires walking... I'm going to hold onto the scooter till after the surgery to see if I can ride... Should be close to winter by then... Dammit. But, if I can't hold it up, I can't ride it. I better start reading about Trikes.

my RSV was scratched after a slide on a 20% slope previous season. So the idea was to get it repainted during the winter. Not! Was it lazyness, the cold, other things to do? Whatever I started the job only a week ago. Choosed not to ride that much this year, and seek my fun on repainting, polishing, add accessoires, checkups, etc. Nice and easy, on a warm day with a beer from time to time, walking the dog, doing a bit of gardening. Looks like I'm getting old you think? I don't think so, just a matter of prioritizing and enjoying whatever I do. here you can find some pics. I will add new ones every now and then. Enjoy.

I was sitting on the bike for a minute after getting to work this morning when I discovered that you can use the ignition lock to lock the forks when turned to the right. Why? They sit at such an upright angle when locked to the left that I couldn't imagine locking to the right and walking away from it. I just can't reason why Yammi would go to the effort of drilling an extra hole.

wow, there were quite a few brave souls who rode their bikes, even though it was below zero. lots of people walking and checking out the vendors. we had a great meal, did some walking and checking out the customs, only seen one 84 or 85 goldie. the outdoor beer garden had cold beer. we did not find any live bands this time. cheers, Scott

Don't know how many of our members have or are serving in our armed forces....but Gary and I just want to say a big thank you for making it possible to enjoy the 4th of July tomorrow. Can't help being a sorry sap who gets a tear or two when I see our local VFW walking past us with the flag flying. However you feel about the war right now, we all wish our troops home safe and soon, so thank you again for serving our country! HAPPY 4TH OF JULY TO ALL OF YOU!http://us.st12.yimg.com/us.st.yimg.com/I/mcmahanphoto_2009_122119125

Finally home from the hospital and doing fine! Sure missed my own bed and my wife beside me! Also, my kitty missed me too. He is meowing and cuddling next to me. Many many thanks for all the cards and calls, especially you out of state people! Sure made me feel great and realise what a great family we have here! Here's a shocker, I even got a card from the Chaplain from the Venturers!! How in the world the other site found about my hospitilization is beyond me! So, I hopefully will be walking around in a couple of weeks. I can do limited walking on my heal now, but I'm talking about regular walking. I should be off work for a couple of months, so everyone is welcome to stop by and set a spell anytime!
