I have in perfect condition the Jack Daniels Old No 7 headlight visor and passing lamp visors off my 2nd gen. I'm looking to swap them out for a plain set. To my knowledge, Ronnie, the previous owner had used Harley spot lights as his driving lights. They appear to be the same size as the Yamaha ones but I can't verifiy that the passing visors will fit. Well there I was... Sitting in the pizza joint, sitting across the table from my lovely wife, GAWildKat, waiting on pizza to hit the table so we could start scarfing and some subject came up regarding the bike that Kat recommended that I put it up here. Rather than jotting the thing down as a note in my Smartphone for later, I figured on my infallible memory to carry me through yet again. Well, now I'm here, 2 and a half hours later...and my mind decides to fart on me. For the life of me, I can't remember what in the world it was...oh wait. I KNEW Stream of consciousness would save me. I'm wanting to talk about Visors. Specifically, do they make any aftermarket assembly to install a secondary Visor inside the helmet for providing sun protection? Sunglasses only work when I'm wearing contacts. The Clip-on type for my regular prescription glasses don't provide ample coverage inside the helmet (perfectly fine while driving in a cage, go figure). Lastly, I'm a bit worried by swapping visors on a daily basis to go from sun-shield to clear would cause the visors or the mounts on the helmet to wear out. What brought up this issue: I was coming home from work today traveling westbound at 6:00 pm, the sun was still rather high in the sky, but the angle was giving a lot of glare that the edge of my clip-ons were not cutting out, still making my eyes about near force shut. Not good to ride about blind. So...as far as the visors go, any recommendations?

Anyone ever order from Accessories4bikes.com They seem to have pretty good prices for visors for headlights, passing lights and turn signals. That's about the only dress-up items left for my '05.

My 2008 came with visors on the headlight and the turnsignals/driving lights. I never have liked the look. Was the first thing I changed. Anyone want a set to put to use? I don't want to sell, just a thanks for the answers received already. Frank

I have visors on my running lights, and am planning on doing my turn signal also. but in order to do the headlight on my 99RSV do I have to remove my fairing or is there a way to get it on without doing that.

Well almost go all the shine on the New 08 RSTD today side-rails for the bags, running lights with visors . turn signals visors, chrome license plate cover and the ultimate studded seats are do in tomorrow. It is almost done for now.

We purchased a visor for the front headlamp on our 2005 Midnight Venture but I don't quite see how the assembly comes out of the fairing. I don't have a service manual yet and don't want to break anything. The passing lamp visors installed without problems but I can't get the headlamp to release and there must be a retaining fastener on the backside. I did remove the allen head bolt under the lamp and nothing is loose. Thanks, Rob

I recently bought an '05 RSTD and had the dealer install OEM passing lamps. I'd like to add visors to them and have read here that some have opted for HD visors over OEM. From what I've seen, the HD's look like the visor is just part of the front ring, which I like better than the "add-on" look. My questions is what HD part number fits our OEM housing? Thanks.

I bought visors for each of the lights on my '03 RSMV then put the visors on the front passing lamps and turn signals. I postponed the Headlight visor until today since I would need to split the fairing, but decided to put the rear turn signal and HD license plate light visors on last night. Someone had been there before me on the turn signals added LED light rings inside, but they do not work. Anyway, as part of their operation they had stripped the heads on the screws so I had purchased replacements. I drilled out the heads and the lens came off, no sweat on the left side. The housing was filled with water and the lower screw was rusty. When I put the vice grips on the screws to back them out the top removed easily, but the lower snapped right off! Has anyone experienced this or do you have any suggestions how to get this fairly tiny screw out now? :confused24:I hate to have to replace the entire assembly... Now after days and days of rain, the sun is shining and I am sitting here looking at that stinking broken off screw. Crap!

I finally got around to washing the bike after dropping it on the way home from Don's. I found that hidden under the squashed bugs, I damaged the chrome trim piece around the headlight. Not really bad but I need to replace it. Anyone have one? I'll be checking ebay as well as my thief ..I mean dealer, since I have to replace the visors and get a few extras for the rear directionals and tail light. Not sure what the dealers charge, but I hate dealing with him so I'll be looking for other places.

I just installed the Harley lights on the back of my RSV. What a difference in the quality of lighting now in the back. My question is, I would like to add chrome visors on the new HD tail lights to match the stock tail lights visors I have now. Does anyone know where I could get visors for the HD lights? Or there HD part numbers? Thanks Guys.

from Santa and it appears that the headlight visor (which is listed as a RSTD part in the Yamaha catalog ) doesn't fit with the stock headlight cowl. Anyone have any experience with a replacement flat cowl w/ the visor or should I just put the driving light/signal visors on with the stock slanted cowl and send the headlight visor back?
