Some of y'all knew that Mike, aka StormRaven was given the opportunity to become a candidate for a paid programming internship through his college. The internship will be with the Georgia Farm Bureau in Macon GA for spring semester. He finally got called today to set the date for his interview. It's thurs morning @ 9:30am. Please give up some prayers, good vibes, etc that he gets the position. I will also mention as of this semester he's officially double majoring in Computer Programming and Computer Networking and should walk with both degrees next spring. I'll also be throwing the man a graduation ride (yes I said ride) as a reward for all the hard work he's done the past 2 yrs with one more to go. Despite all the obstacles he's faced since his wreck and head injury in Sept 09 he's bounced back in a major way. Carrying a 4.0 GPA every semester, president's list, National Honor society member, works at Radioshack on those crazy hrs and about to add an internship to the mix (we hope!)

Are you happy with only five gears? How bad are the vibes?

I have a Vulcan 1600 Classic, which has a five speed, counter-balanced V-twin engine. At highway speeds, I find that there's a fair amount of high-frequency vibes that come through the floorboards and to a lesser extent, through the hand grips too. Is this also apparent on the Venture? And do you feel that the lack of a sixth gear is a big deal? Is the engine maybe a bit busy when up to highway speeds since it only has a five speed transmission, causing any kind of noticeable buzzing/vibrating? -
Hi guys, silly question for you knowledgeable types out there.. Is the FireStick II CB antenna compatible with the mod on the bike? I can't find the reference but it's the one where you remove the OEM antennas and replace them with Firesticks.. On our recent road trip, I had been experiencing weird vibes on the bike, in the grips, floorboards etc... and poof, the vibes went away.. so did my CB antenna.. croid, the vibes were from the antenna coming loose in it's mount.. groan. While in the US, I picked up an inexpensive FireStick II CB antenna to plug the hole with.. This antenna is thicker and less flexible than the other ones and has a red cap vice a black one. Is this OK to use, or will it cause any probs? I don't use comms often on the bike, but would sometimes listen in on CB for reports and such.. I didn't get a chance to try out the new antenna yet.. Any ideas?
