To make a long story short... I noticed that a buddy of mine has a set of scalloped tires on his Wing. He thought the $40 gauge that he had bought (gas station style chuck/gauge combo) would be accurate. It showed that he had 40lbs in the front. I checked it with my new Accutire digital gauge and it showed 32lbs. I understand Accutire brand are supposed to be accurate but I'm going to verify mine at work tomorrow since we have a calibrated gauge that is only used to verify other gauges.

I have a set of fishtail pipes for the RSV that I'm trying to ID before I sell. No identifying marks on it that I have found. RSV mounting tab for under the bags. No seams, can't remove the baffles. I'm thinking Samson, but don't know how to verify. Any thoughts? I'll get some photos posted later this afternoon. Iz

Got 83VR non running, lot of work later runs great but tach reads low, and slow to respond to throttle changes. Dash was FULL of ants, disassembled, and flushed ants out with water, then dried with aircompressor. Any way to verify tach signal at rear of dash correct? Volts?, Ohms? Think this signal is pulsing ground/vs 12v behind coil#2 @2xRPM?, May put o-scope on just to see what it reads. Haven't used my scope in long time-hope it still works. Suspect tach gears/springs may have light corrosion needs lube (pull dash again:(), but would like to verify everything else first.

Over the winter I had reported that what I thought was a dealer installed I-basket (last July) actually was a G-basket. I complained to the dealer and eventually got an I-basket which eliminated almost all of the whine. A few of you commented that you were thinking about pulling your clutch basket to verify whether or not you do or don't have an I-basket (when you felt that you do). Just wondering if anyone has followed through and what was discovered?

Can one of you gurus here verify? I am almost certain the crash guards are the same on the tour deluxe as the venture. Can anyone verify that? -

I'm suspecting that the newer V-Maxes probably use a throttle position sensor on the carburetors, and I figure the older ones didn't. Can anyone verify whether the newer ones really do or not and what year they started being used?
