I am currently working on the itinerary, motel and dinner prices for this rally... Some time today I will post dates, times and pertinent information in the rally section of this forum... IF you plan on booking a room for the rally do it early as many of the motels and hotels book out with seasonal workers for the well industry....We have a fun time in the works as usual... check us out and join us for this fun filled event. Give me a few hours to get this thread started....and again camping is free at the rally site...See you there

Buddy and I did Lake Michigan a few years back, now moving on to the next lake. Looking to do Lake Erie in late June and looking for tips & advice. Leaving from Chicago and fly the toll way to Toledo then work our way around, not sure which direction yet but probably doing 200-250 miles per day staying off the highway and following the lakefront as much as possible. 1. Already have a passport and know the usual traveling outside the country stuff, but have never driven outside the states. What do I need to know about riding in Canada? 2. Sights to see, roads to hit? 3. Anyone along the way free the weekend of June 26th?

I saw this RSTD for sale on craigslist. Looks to be a fair price. What I'm curious about is if you click on the link to see all the pictures, does anyone recognize the brand of fairing he added? It's different than the usual ones I've seen. Haven't quite decided if I like it or not. Glenn http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/ank/mcy/3334460778.html

Another great Memorial weekend in the books. I trust everyone is having a safe ride home today. It was great to see old friends and meet the new ones this year. We had a nice rides on both Saturday and Sunday even if it was a bit warm. And as usual, we managed to eat well. I didn't take a lot of photos myself but others did so please post a few here. Below are a few that I shot. Thanks to all who came and we hope to do it again next year. Dennis

Just felt an earthquake. Felt like someone came up and was pushing on my chair. Computer monitors were moving. Not usual in northern Ohio. Was centered in Virgina, about a 5.8 Gary

Is there any left in the US??? Nothing here in Canada...it sells right out of the shipping crate it seems! If I could get my hands on one for a Christmas gift for the kids it would be great. The ebay ones are way way out of what the stores are selling them. 149 is the usual cost at best buy etc. We are currently stalking EB games here in town but they never seem to get that shipment in when they say they will get it!

I asked my local Stealer to check on the Dunlop Elite 3' for my 09' venture, they said that Elite 3's didn't have size for the Venture. So is there a different size listed for that tire, for the Venture?? What am I missing ? besides the usual IQ stuff. My Factory Rear tire is done at 6200 miles,, I keep it at correct press, etc... no burnouts Thanks Vern

1999 RSV, 65K miles. Oil is leaking from the left side of the motors, appears to possibly be in from of the peg. Honestly I cannot see where it is coming from. leak is bad enough that you can see it streak down the exhaust pipe on the left side. Is there any "usual" failing gasket up there that this most likely is? Left side, bad; http://www.webtrendsguy.com/images/rsv/oilbad.jpg Right side is clear. http://www.webtrendsguy.com/images/rsv/oilgood.jpg

Hi, Has anyone used one of these vacuum storage bags (or similar) for wintering a Venture? I have lost access to my usual winter storage, so am having to get creative. Thanks, Brian H.

Wife backed into my bike the other day and now I'm looking for a new front fender for my '09 RSTD. Local body shop wants $1100 to fix so thinking I can surely find a used one in good shape. Checked the usual suspects (Pinwall, ebay) and gonna start calling junkyards next. Any other places I should be looking?

Maintenance day is so busy that I often don't know who is doing what. I want to thank some folks but am afraid that I'll miss somebody, in fact, I know that I'll miss somebody so if any of you other can help me single out the folks who worked so hard to help others, it will be appreciated. As usual, V7Goose worked his butt off helping as many people has he possibly could. That guy is like the energizer bunny, I don't know how he does it but thanks MUCH Kent. Monty was hard at work helping people with gauge installs. I hardly saw him throughout the gauge. I know that the folks appreciated it and he did a great job. Ponch showed up a little later but I understand also got busy with the gauge installs. You have developed a great product for us Ponch. Thanks much for all that you do. Dingy not only arranged for us to do the Quaker Steak and Lube dinner on Friday night but was also there all day Saturday offering his assistance to anybody who needed it. Muffinman came all the way across the big pond just to work his butt off as usual. Thanks my friend for all your help and for just being the great person that you are. Squidley was running from bike to bike as usual. Syncing carbs and doing whatever else had to be done. I was unsure if he was going to make it this year but there he was. Thank you my friend. A lot of you ladies helped out with getting the food ready to be served. I know that I saw Mini in the kitchen as well as Becky and Lonna. There were others too but I just can't remember who all was lending a hand. So thanks to all and to the many others that joined in to help your fellow riders. I KNOW that I'm missing many. Please jump in here and offer a word of thanks to all who lent you a hand.

Today I celebrate 15 years of marriage to my lovely wife Eileen. It seems like just yesterday that I discovered her standing in that pumpkin patch, barefoot, hair all tangled and wearing that home made feed sack dress. I remember how sorry I felt for her and though I knew that it would be a challenge, I just couldn't leave her in that predicament. So, like a knight in shining armor, I decided that I would make her my wife and just do the best I could with her. I'll admit that it wasn't an easy decision and that I didn't accept her proposal the first time she asked. But WOW...look at the fine lady that she has become because of my willingness to take such a chance. It has actually worked out quite well and she really cleaned up nicely. So....though "celebrate" is a stretch since I am, as usual, out of town...I just want to say that it has been a wonderful 15 years and I hope just the start of many more great years together. In all honesty, without her, I would be nothing. PS: If she were to just HAPPEN to read this....I just want her to know that I WILL find out who hacked into my account and wrote that first paragraph and they WILL be punished severely.

I am looking at meeting Laura Sat evening over in Cleveland, Tn on her way back from Gulf Shores/Birmingham, AL. I am thinking about leaving early in the morning(before 5am) and swinging thru Vogal for a visit. As part of this, I am wondering if there will be the usual get together in Blairsville for breakfast. If so, I might try to time it to meet up there first. I would appreciate any feedback. RandyA

Where did the VR Classifieds go ? Am I going blind ? The link doesn't appear on the left side as usual - it also looks like a few other things are not there. Please tell me I'm not having a SENIOR moment !!

Just got back in logged about 380 miles round trip for this ride, we had between 18 & 19 bikes, just depends on when and who counted them...........Met some new folks, lots of old friends, food was good as usual, we had a little rain and had to break out the rain gear about 15 miles out from our lunch stop, but after that no rain rest of the day. Looking forward to seeing the pics by Bobbie and the others that took them. Hats off to 86er and Blackjack, they did their usual awesome job putting this thing together.

6:00 am , Monday , it's official that we just evicted Squidley ! So he , Lona and the Kids are heading back to Fayetteville . It's not that we didn't enjoy the company , but that "Grocery Getter / Road Sled" of Squid's had to leave . I was just about ready to call the wrecker to haul it off . So now that 4 wheeled contraction is off my property , my home value just went back up . Also to say , I notice a bunch of 1st Gen parts of the Muffin's were kinda......lets say missing ? All kidding aside , it was a pleasure to have Lona , Jen , Sal , and Brad here at our home . As well as all the members whom came over to have our usual fun . Tim , Riderduke........you two lost your deposit on the recliners and your rate will double on the next get together . Hope your stay with the druggies and hookers were more pleaseant than your usual spot here at the Beer Joint . Just thought I would let everyone know , Squid is homeward bound . BEER30
