I've decided to fix the Broom, so I'm looking for stock parts for a 99 RSV that you may have in your garage. I need handlebars, windshield right front fork, .........and other assorted goodies. Last Sunday, for some unknown reason, I grabbed the front brake going into a left turn. Locked it up, skidded accross the road and landed upside down. Go figure, the weekend before I drove 500 miles to Gettysburg and back without incident, this happened 25 miles from home. Just had routine maintenance done by Earl, aka SkyDoc, and he did a great job! There wasn't one leak or drip when it was upside down or even after being righted! Hope it will be on the road in time for Oberlin, so I can get those pretty pinstripes back. http://s1133.photobucket.com/albums/m583/MaryJo44/Broom%20crash/?albumview=slideshow&track=share_email_album_view_click

Well, I lowered the front end of the bike and everything went exceptionally smooth... Today I went to pull out to do a carb tune on it and "no clutch", clunked into first gear. Hummmmmmmmm. Those resivours must not like being hung upside down...LOL:bang head: Oh well something else to do to her... Shouldn't take that long...

Just received this disturbing e-mail!! Remember this before you think Arizona is wrong to pass the new law........... Montebello High School in California You will not see this heart-stopping photo on the front page of the NY Times, nor on the lead story of the major news networks. The protestors at Montebello High School took the American flag off the school's flag pole and hung it upside down while putting up the Mexican flag over it. (*See pictures below*) http://i49.tinypic.com/35k028h.jpg http://i48.tinypic.com/1amth.jpg http://i50.tinypic.com/2dui0bb.jpg http://i50.tinypic.com/34ewchw.jpg I predict this stunt will be the nail in the coffin ofany guest-worker/ amnesty plan on the table in Washington ... The image ofthe American flag subsumed to another and turned upside down on Americansoil is already spreading on Internet forums and via e-mail. Pass this along to every American citizen in youraddress books and to every representative in the state and federalgovernment.. If you choose to remain uninvolved, do not be amazed whenyou no longer have a nation to call your own nor anything you haveworked for left since it will be 'redistributed' to the activists whileyou are so peacefully staying out of the 'fray'. Check history, it is full of nations/empires that disappeared when its citizens no longerheld their core beliefs and values One person CAN make a difference.... One plus one plus one plus one plus one plus one........ .. The battle for our secure borders and immigration lawsthat actually mean something, however, hasn't even begun. If this ticks YOU off....PASS IT ON! IF IT DOESN'T IT SHOULD!

Hi all. I read the threads about bottoming forks. My question is, this did not happen until I had the shop put new seals in. A local person tells me there is a part inside the fork, that if it is upside down, it will limit the shock travel. Anyone know if there is any truth to this. Thanks. Another question? Do the forks need to be bled? I put the oil in after the forks were on the bike.

As some of you already know, and if you don't, you will now know, I did second gear on my 85. Well, in order to do that job I found out that you need to pull the whole motor out of the bike and then turn it upside down. I figured that it would be a smart thing to first drain out the oil, so out comes the drain plug and off comes the filter. Now the drain plug is an easy one to loose so I was really smart and put it back ASAP. The filter housing on the other hand is a messy business so after taking it off, I neatly put it upside down in the garbage can to drain out, to be retrieved and cleaned at a later date. Well that date was today, and nowhere can I find that housing or the filter itself. I have a new filter but it's somewhat useless without the cover, so now where did the old one end up??????? The best guess I've got at this point, is that seeing as I like things to be as clean as possible and that the garbage was gettiing full, I neatly put a garbage bag over the can, turned it upside down, tied it up and sent it off to never never land where they are building a big heap of other leftovers. Yep my filter cover is gone, gone, gone. Now I need another, but where to find such a thing, I thinking maybe there be someone around who would quietly send me one so that the whole world won't find out how smart I can sometimes be.
