On my way back from the west coast, just like last year, I stopped at the salt flats again, just to play. I found the track to be in much better condition this year, hard and smooth. I really enjoyed my day here...doing fun stuff in the HHR...you know, like seeing if an iPad, standing upright on the salt, supported between a pair of shoes will stay upright when I pass by it at 100mph.... Im sitting at a light today, a guy pulls next to me on a GW. Goes to put his feet down and all that touches is his toes. He then tries to lean the bike to one side to hold it up and oops . I get out and help get it to the upright position, and he says it happens on uneven pavement. I see guys all the time that don't fit there bikes so my question is why if you are height challenged do you feel you need a touring bike that is to big ?

I found a major source of frame and bar buzz on my bike which turned out to be the passenger floorboards. When the boards are in the upright stowed position, you can move them side to side freely before hitting the spring stops.. "loose" is quite accurate. I jammed some soft wood between the mounts and the pivot end of the floorboards to seize them up while in the upright position and yep.. what a huge difference. I took one apart to confirm that yes, the ball and spring were present and reassembled it but its very loose.. Is there a more permanent / proper way to tighten these up other than jamming a stick of wood like i have? You can't see the wood, I seldom ride with passengers.. but would like to sort this out somehow.. Anyone else experience something similar?

Had to leave out last night to visit a customer of mine about 3 hours from home so thought I'd take the scoot and make a ride out of it. About 45 min. down the road (it's dark out) and I begin to hear the truckers talking about a "big ol gator" at mile marker 71.4 I look up to see where I am and BAM. At that point I didn't have to wonder where it was anymore. The bad part is that it was laying upright and curled instead of flat. I rode it out, but it shattered one & maybe both of my lower cowlings. Guess I'll be looking for those soon. I'm just glad I'm here to tell about it.

I was sitting on the bike for a minute after getting to work this morning when I discovered that you can use the ignition lock to lock the forks when turned to the right. Why? They sit at such an upright angle when locked to the left that I couldn't imagine locking to the right and walking away from it. I just can't reason why Yammi would go to the effort of drilling an extra hole.

Ok, So I have a venture that I bought sans trunk. My wife reslly needs som kind of back support so I bought an upright from a royal star and mounted it up. It fits like a champ of course, but now I need to know it the mounting pattern of the upright pad from a roadstar will fit the upright of a royal star. I am trying to find a deal on a pad now. I have seen a lot of roadstar upright pads and can get a good deal on those, so I want to use one of them for my upright. Anyone know if the bolt pattern on the back of the pad will allow to be mounted to my upright?
