Hey Folks, Yesterday I was in a local Yamaha dealership and the manager told me that today, June 6th, Yamaha will be revealing to their dealers what the new bike lineup will be for 2013. Since I won't be back to that dealer for a week or so, I thought i would jump on here and ask if anyone has heard any news as to whether Yamaha is going to be doing any upgrades on the 2013 Venture? Anybody have a scoop on this?

As I am in Australia, product information is sometimes difficult if not impossible to get. I find that I can not rely on the glossy brocures and the dealers that I have contacted generally do not have the user information that I require. IT seems that their main interest is only to sell you something, and subsequently let you find out for yourself. So here is the guts of this post I am thinking about an upgrade from my old faithfull 1996 Royal Star, and have wondered if anyone has had the opportunity to test ride the latest, or any other version, of the FJR 1300. I would be most interested to hear their impressions about:322: this machine. And Also possibly what changes and or upgrades has Yamaha done over the last few models. In other words would any one recommend any particular model or year. Do you know of any glaring, obvious or not, faults or things to watch out for with this run of motorcycle. Any comment or feedback will be very appreciated. Thanks in anticapation of your comments. Winston66

Not sure if this is the place to post this but what the hell! My brothers friend is ready to put his wing on the market and has said he will sell it to me for $8000 It is a GL1500 1998 with 10,000 miles. It has been garage kept and is immaculate. Not a lot of upgrades but it has a backrest and chrome brake covers etc. Is this a decent price in anyones opinion. I have been looking for a while, just not real hard. It is fuel injected and has new tires. I can try and post some pictures.

The Browner keeps on going and going and going...and now it's FOR SALE... NO reasonable offer will be refused. I'm giving someone else the chance to get the Venture smile with a minimal investment. You will ride a rattle free bike thanks to "living room" maintenance done by a perfectionist who took 100s of pictures to prove every job. Seriously interested parties can PM me for a long list of upgrades and OEM new parts installed in the last 4 years, including in the last 6 months: new clutch plates on a PCW racing kit a complete carb rebuild including gaskets and diaphrams. and a new throttle cable

Finally got out on the scoot after several upgrades. the Carb mod with the needle spacer adjustment netted me 12mpg more, averaged 42mpg at regular cruising speed. I also installed the 420 Progressive shock in the back end...wow what a difference on the ride, still waiting for the front spring set to come in, can't wait till I put those in.....A huge thank you to all of you that have posted tips etc on mods and upgrades.. Greetings all, Thanks to the information I have found here on the greatest web sit in the world, I was able to gather the courage to do some upgrades to my '84. 1. I have installed new horns, with a seperate circuit 2. Rear LED running/brake lights 3. Exhaust turn down tips located on eBay 4. NOS Venture Luggage Rack Thanks to Interlakes Sports Center, Madison, SD great guys to work with. I think the main reason that Doug Koch, co-owner, really likes to help me out with the Venture is that he had one as a Demo in 1983-85. He told me that it was one of the best bikes he had ever ridden. Again, thanks to all you that have shared your know-how with these great bikes. Dave

I am thinking of replacing the clutch, from all the documentation with the bike It has the clutch that came from the factory in it. If I change the clutch out, is there a better brand that will last longer? is there any upgrades that I should look at that will make it so I never have to replace the clutch again?

As we discuss the issues on our beloved scoots, I often find myself wondering how many miles were on the affected bike at the time something happened to it. So, I thought a thread to tell us roughly how many miles were on our bikes might be in order. I'll start: 06 Black Cherry Venture 12,000 miles No issues to this point, just upgrades.

FInally got the big bumblebee running today which means I finally got to get out and test out the new progressive front fork springs I put in last month. All I can say is WOW. The difference is like night and day. The bike handles better than ever. This was the best $50 I've spent on upgrades. Only downside is I now see I need to get a new set of tires soon and it looks like I should just order a case of footpegs and save the hassle.

My '86" sound system was slowly going down hill. I know they're a lot of tech fixes and upgrades out there. but I'm sound system impaired, so here is a great cheap upgrade. Pull the fairing signal covers off and remove the stock speakers, replace with Wal-Mart replacement upgrades, about $30 bucks, buy a cassette tape adapter $6 bucks(Wal-Mart with the cord adapter.) borrow your kids IPOD(after they put your music on a playlist), plug it in ,stick it in the leather side pocket and WOW what a great sound, works even in a high wind..
