After reading the material on these units I am very interested in purchasing one. I would like to Hear from any of the members that have purchased these units. I also have a question which mic do you prefer either the solid mic MH10-10 or the MH10-11 the slimmer one which fits inside the helmet? I have a HJC modular SY MAX 2 flip type helmet. I look forward to hearing your opinions on this unit whether it be pro or con. Thanks Dana

OK so I have been searching around looking for info on LED bulbs for the turnsignals and also the brake. What I would like to know is if you use the replacement type looking LED bulbs do you still have to put the special flasher units, resistors, controller or whatever in the mix? And I thought I read somewhere that the auto cancel function dont work with the LED's either. Something like this. http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/NDIzWDQ0MA==/$(KGrHqN,!oME9c54uKu(BPr+S840(g~~60_1.JPG

Hi Folks, I just thought I would give you guys my opinion on these two Bluetooth sets since my wife and I have had the unique opportunity to experience them back to back within a two month span. Four years ago I purchased the Scala Rider Teamset units for my wife and I to use. This product performed fairly well over the last few years and finally became so worn out that I made the choice to upgrade. About 3 months ago I chose to purchase for us the Scala Rider Q2 Proset. The sound was certainly better than the Scala Teamset that we had been using. The voice activated intercom reacts a lot smoother, and using our iPhones with them has been pretty flawless. My wife does have the complaint that when she listens to music, the sound is less than inspiring. We have on a number of occasions had to wait and fiddle for an extended period of time for the units decide to sync with each other. But, once they do, they work fine. We both agree that the buttons on the units are quirky to deal with especially with gloves on. The volume range is very limited, but adequate. Overall, we had been decently happy with them, and certainly felt that they were better than the TeamSet units we had worn out. Well....that all changed one month ago when our oldest son, who didn't know we had purchased new microphone sets for ourselves, purchased us the Sena SMH10 Dual set for a gift for our anniversary. Instead of telling him we had already purchased ourselves a new Scala set, we kept our mouths shut and accepted the gift with big grins and big hugs. I then made the choice to install the Sena units on our helmets just see if there was any difference between the two products. To put it mildly, we were blown away by the difference! The Sena SMH10 is far and away a better sounding unit, as well as way easier to operate due to the jog dial that is more friendly to navigate with gloves. The unit produces a deeper and more rich sound than the Scala product does. Also, the volume levels are markedly better. Instead of pushing buttons to raise and lower the volume, you turn the jog dial and it acts like a radio dial. My wife loves the way here iTunes music sounds on these units, even while running 75 on the freeway. There is absolutely no waiting for them to sync, and turning the units on and off is a matter of quick taps on two buttons. We did a 400 mile ride last weekend and had the units on from 7:00AM until 7:00PM, and they never went dead. Well I'm not gonna blah blah blah anymore. I just wanted to inform anyone who may be thinking about buying new Bluetooth sets, that they cannot go wrong with the Sena SMH10. Now, I've gotta figure out what to do with a 2 month old Scala Q2 set.

Trying to find out if this is worth buying. I'm looking for some headsets for communication between the wife & me. The ability to answer the phone is nice. I know the Scala units are great but Spending over $300 for a pair of them is a difficult chew. I know you get what you pay for, but if these units do the job without a lot of noise it would be worth it for $50 a pop. Has anyone bought these? The are NoiseHush N800 Interphone Bluetooth Motorcycle Headset. http://images.nedsgadgets.com/original/91/OFU1675qdE.jpg http://mspecials.com/image/cache/data/N800-10688_p-500x500.jpg

I for one would really like to Thank Gary for all the work he has put into getting these Ingitech units for us. I know he has invested a LOT of time and work into this. I couldn't do it. Without him we would be stuck with those old crusty units that worked sometimes and sometimes didn't. Really a major embarassment if it happened about the time you started to put that Hardley in its place!! MUCH THANKS GARY!!! Err you are going to make mine run just a little better than.......you know:whistling:

AM/FM/Cassette parts??? I just went thru all my stuff and have several tuner/amp units, tuner controllers (minus push buttons) and volume control units all tested and in working order. I'm trying to get rid of all this crap!! This stuff is free for shipping costs! Also, I will have several reconditioned Cassette decks available for a small fee exchange. I found a source for belts ansd pinch rollers and I will be refurbishing these decks for those interested in having a cassetre deck like new!

It is not the easiest thing I have ever done. Hopefully will be the first and last time. On Monday evening I responded to a very well known address, CPR in progress, possibly heart attack. With all the effort, all the meds, all we had in us we poured into this code patient. Now with a deeply hurting heart tomorrow I say goodbye for the last time to one of our own. Our emergency services director who has built our E911 system to what it is, helped neighboring communities do the same, and she lived for nothing more then to serve the community through our emergency communication facility. I was assigned to assembling the line up of emergency apparatus for the funeral procession. I have detailed our units until I cannot clean no more, have units coming from 6 neighboring communities consisting of fire, police, and ambluance, as well as NE Missouri emergency managment and Air Evac lifeflight lifeteam. No matter if its fire, police, emt, dispatcher, or director, to me we are one of the same. I think I did all I could to make this as fitting as possible to honor her career. I hope it all works out good. Their will be 2 TV stations there as well so I will post some footage of the procession when available. This is a tough assignment and I just hope I completed it to the families satisfaction.

For those that may be looking for a cheap GPS to play with. http://www.hidcountry.com has 4 choices of GPS on the clearance rack at $39 each. They are not the greatest out there but at least they are cheap. I have no clue as to the quality or performance of these units. Everywhere I found these same units online they were all over $100. I am considering getting one of them for the bike just because it is cheap and if it gets wrecked by rain or something, oh well, no big loss.

The installation of a set of Progressive Fork Springs in my 87'VR brought the "New Bike Feel" back to my 24 year old motorcycle. My bike corners and stops like it never did before! Needless to say, this was some of the best money I have spent on the "old girl" in quite some time. The other issue that I have been wondering about is the amount of electricity the front Anti- Dive Units were drawing off of the battery as they activated EVERY time I engaged the front brake. I did notice that my lights would dim somewhat when squeezing the right front brake lever. Well recently, I machined a set of 1/4 inch Stainless Steel block off plates to remove the electric Anti-Dive Units from the front of my MKII VR. I installed them and am glad to say that they worked flawlessly, the front end does not dive when coming to a stop, due to the addition of the Progressive Front Fork Springs. The big improvement was the savings in electrical power that I am saving by the Anti-Dive units being removed. Plus it cleaned up and streamlined the front forks in the process. If this is something that might interest you and you have an MKII VR (1986 to 1993) then try this link for some pics. http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds/showproduct.php?product=3332&title=first-genmkii-vr-s-santi-dive-block-off-plates-21&cat=22 If you have the MKI VR (1983 to 1985) and are interested, try this link for some pics. http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds/showproduct.php?product=3329&title=first-genmki-vr-anti-dive-s-sblock-off-plates-21&cat=22 With the removal of the Electric Anti-Dive Units from the front forks of my 87'VR I have increased battery power to the lighting system on my bike, Cleaned up the look of the front end, and noticed NO difference in the lack of front end dive when coming to a stop light or hard braking since I added the Progressive Fork Springs. Basically, I removed a set of valves that were no longer needed with the addition of the Progressives. If you have questions about the install, please feel free to PM me. Earl

I was thinking about getting a GPS unit for the bike with the ability to move it to the car as needed. The motorcycle specific ones are way out of my price range. I was looking at this one in the link and it looked pretty good at a decent price. Anyone have any pro or con info on this or similar units like the garmin 255? Is it worth the price? Will it hold up? I know nothing about GPS units so any info would be appreciated. http://www.thegpsstore.com/Garmin-Nuvi-265WT-Wide-Screen-GPS-System-P1924.aspx

G'day V Riders I rebuilt my front forks, now the antidive units both leak ! I replaced the "O" rings thinking that might be the problem, but no, it's the antidive units themselves. I read that they can't be repaired and Yamaha have discontinued the part so I've bought another pair on ebay hoping that they will be better than mine. If they leak too, I'm thinking of removing them completely and blocking off the holes with a plate. I have fitted progressive springs. How will this affect the ride ? Jim O'D.........

Does anyone have a dead TCI that they would donate to me. I will gladly pay shipping. I tried the diode repair to my TCI and I am uncertain of the results. I used too high a wattage solder iron to remove diodes and damaged the circuit board traces somewhat. I obtained a second one that was very corroded and tried the replacement of diodes again and they looked much better, but due to corrosion of unit I believe it is unserviceable. Any 83 to 89 units that are laying around would be appreciated. I will open any donated one up and see if the diode degradation was possibly the reason for the unit failure. I can get the replacement diodes for about $5.00 to try and repair. This is a somewhat difficult procedure to replace these diodes, but after 2 practice tries, I am getting better at it. I believe I can use a post 84 on my present 1200 engine. I have the correct vacuum line to use on the post 84 units. Also I am anticipating getting a 1300 engine in the next week or so. PM me if you can help !! Gary

I have just started looking at GPS units and need some basic info. I know that they are tied into satellites and they have different maps that they use. The info I need is how are you satisfied with what you have and what kind it is. Also the best price that you have seen for the unit that you have. As I see it there is basiclly only 2 kinds, the Tom Tom and the Zumo. Are there different brands that are out there that I just haven't been able to find or is that it? Does everything that is needed to hook the unit up and be useable come with it, or is there more that is needed? Any info will be appreciated. Don H.

Today installed on my 89, a new set of Driveing lights. Hella, Optilux 1500, units. Just got back in the house, from test drive after dark, and getting them adjusted. Boy, what a difference, from the single stock low beam. They are 55W, H3 Bulb units. I just removed the " El Chepo " units I had installed and replaced with the new ones. Couple of photo's here. ( as required )

Just saw an ad for the handlebar mounted unit. The SO rides a wee strom and would occasionally like to tell me when I missed a turn. Has anyone got any experience with these units. Are they any good? I know they're pricey, but if it's any good, it looks like it would fit the bill. (Able to tell me what to do and listen to her tunes)

I'll start by saying that I know nothing about GPS other than what I read on this site. So, here goes. I noticed that several stores in my area have GPS units on sale for $99 to $199. everyone is going on about what a bargin some of these units are. Now I never knew that I wanted GPS until the word bargin came into the picture. Question is does the unit have to be specific for motorcycle application? Can I buy one of the $99 units, buy some type of mount, plug it in (Venture plug) and go or is there more to it. Seems a bit to easy...... Thanks, Kenny:fingers-crossed-emo

Geez, I tried every trick in the book to get this unit to boot up but it's dead. Check out how many folks have had the same trouble as me! 44 pages of the same thing! http://www.zumoforums.com/index.php?topic=339.0 There is a definite problem with these units. Good news is that Garmin support has been very good with me and it looks like they will make it right. Hopefully, I will be able to find danob11 and Bummer tomorrow since I'm "blind"!

After much to-do, I finally settled on a Garmin C580. Got a good deal ( I think) at ~$183 new in the box..not refurbed. I just couldn't bring myself to pay 2-3 times that for a Zumo. (or any of the other m/c specific units) Bought the appropriate RAM mount components to swap the unit back & forth between bikes and over to the truck on occasion. I still have to add aux power outlets to both bikes for the pwr plug (It's got some integral gizmo for MSNdirect). OK....yada, yada, yada....bluetooth...blah, blah, blah and so on! Now, to the point! The C580 (not being a motorcycle friendly unit) has a pop-on, pop-off ball-socket on the back, that I wouldn't want to trust to resist a sharp bump in the road and not be rolling down the road after me at 60mph or so. I recall seeing some GPS post recommending tethering GPS units to avoid such an incident as I described above. The question is ....HOW? So, here I am.....asking for opinions or recommendations/ideas as to tethering solutions. I have a couple of ideas, but I'd like you folks input before I decide what I'm going to do. How'd you do yours (if you did), or maybe one you saw that was neat or whatever!!! Thanks for any input!!!!

I was glad to find a website dedicated to Venture riders. I have owned a 750 Special and a Seca 750, and just bought a 1983 Venture Royale. The bike is in great shape and bone stock except for the forks and shocks which have been replaced with conventional units. I have only had the bike a couple of months but it seems to ride and run well. If there is anything I need to be made aware of please feel free to sound off.
