  1. made it one hour. New owner lost control and parked in some trees. RandyA UPDATED ? Highway to Hell(cat): Owner wrecks 707-hp Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat one hour after buying it | MotorSportsTalk
  2. How many trees do you REALLY need. I just got home from a week on the road and there are two dump trucks and a CAT with a tree spade running all over my yard. I didn't even know it but apparently we needed more trees. So....they are putting in 15 new 12-14 ft. Norway Spruces and Canadian Hemlocks and moving 7 other trees that Eileen decided were in the wrong place. Lucky me....new stuff to mow around.
  3. are the triple trees the same on a royal star and a royal star venture. i found a set of barron raked trees but it says for a royal star/roadstar 96-12 need to know will they fit my 1999 venture and any mods if any needed
  4. As another year winds down, I just want to wish all my VentureRider friends and your families a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS. At my house, we could find some things to complain about I guess but I would rather focus on the many things that we have to be thankful for. We don't do the exterior decorating thing but I did get the tree up last weekend. Let's see some pictures of all your trees.
  5. hello everyone since im on social security now and broke most of the time i thought i would invest in a business so i am now selling solar powerd dryers they are cheap and let me tell you work great. so if your interested just let me know i will need a little info from you the info i need is the distance between the trees you have to install this great item allso i sell it by the foot only you can get theses at any local place like wal-mart ..kmart. home depo but im takeing out the middle man as i can get this rope much cheaper:rotf:
  6. Just came across another craigs list scam.A nice 2001 cadillac seville sts for $3600.00.listed in Ithaca NY...just one problem, the pictures of the car were not taken in NY. Ithaca does not have palm trees! how stupid can they get? you would think they would have notice this little blunder.
  7. Well I'm sitting in a library waiting while my triple tree's are installed. They said about 4-5 hrs. Hopefully the wait will be worth it. Everyone says that my bike and side car will be a lot easier to handle once they are installed. 4 plus hours with nothing to do is pretty boring but its no worth have the wife pick me up and return me later, its a 1 1/2 hr ride and the shop is in a small town
  8. has any one ever used one of these to do the brakes on a first generation? im working on flushing the whole brake system to stop this overheating locking up problem. it looks like a good one man operation tool. and for 40 bucks a good investment i think? it wont over fill the master i hope? its hot out there today not even high noon and 80 whew and no shade trees where i live i just got a small off street lot to work on. i swear you can see heat deamons comming off that lot. so im thinking late evening or early morning monday. and i will pick up this tool if it meets the ventures aproval here
  9. Installing a side car and will probably have triple trees modified to assist with steering effort. What alls involved with removing the triple tree's? Is this a job to tackle myself? I obviously have no idea whats involved as suggested from my first question:doh: Thanks
  10. What is it about going South and catching colds?? Seems like every time I go south for a few days I catch a cold. This time is worse. Thing has been hanging on for a week and not getting any better. More like flu. I'm sorry Georgia for the remarks about Sand, Pine Trees and Swamps!! Maybe she is just getting even. Thought I was coming home to warmer weather and a chance to ride. If I crawl out there!! OK I'll quit whining and go back to bed...
  11. I'm sittin here about 100 miles south of you enjoying another %$#@* blizzard, wondering how I'm going to get back up my long driveway when I get home from work tonight, cuz the hubby's been plowing the county roads since 3 a.m. this morning. At least in Minnesota, you've got trees....down here in North Iowa it's just frozen fields, with no protection from this miserable stuff. Thought we both might enjoy dreamin' of being here....http://t3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:FCOvDWJCi29TAM:http://ic2.pbase.com/u43/renobguy/large/40617479.IMG_1876.jpgNow where's my Pina Colada?
  12. My trip to Indiana June and July, '09. Took my bike up to Dan's Cycle in Seymoure, IN and had it FIXED. It now runs like new. Gary at Dan's said that one cylender in front and one in back were not timed right. Also that two valves were not seating right and that they could have been damage. All that was taken care of. And he got Yamaha to take care of those problems even though it was out of warrenty. He blamed it on the work done under warrenty. Thanks Yamaha. While there I went on several rides with the owner of Dan's Yamaha, and his son Gary. I have tried to down load a picture of what the tirke looks like now. who know how it will turn out. I rode over a thousand miles in 4 Sundays while up there. They sure know how to treat a misplaced Yankie! Being down here in Florida I forgot how nice it was to have hills to ride up and down. And they have trees too with real leaves. Not all these so called trees with needles on them. Hope to see you all at the "Tail" Ken
  13. My new favorite ride... This is my new favorite ride. I've rode to Mount Diablo and to Yosemite but Big Trees is now my favorite. Diablo has a lot of bicyclists which makes me nervous. Yosemite has a lot of traffic and pedestrians on the road. Even on a holiday traffic is light up on the way to Big Trees. http://helmetspeakers.741.com/images/forumAds/Clipboard02.jpg Below are the pictures Steve took and he wrote the comments: July 4th 2009 Calaveras Big Trees... This July 4th 2009 we rode to Calaveras Big Trees in CA. We meet in Stockton CA, and ride east on HWY 4. The riders where Mike (HD), Lucy (HD) , Rachel (HD), Debra (HD), Kyle and Brooke(Gold Wing), Kenny (Valkyrie), Jerry (V-star 1300), Myself and Heather (Gold Wing) and a friend of Rachel’s (HD) my bad I did not get his name. From Stockton to the Big Trees Park it is about a 1 hour and half ride, once in the park we headed to the lookout over view to check things out and stretch out a little before heading to the visitor center and a short hike. http://helmetspeakers.741.com/images/forumAds/101_1129.jpg http://helmetspeakers.741.com/images/forumAds/101_1130.jpg http://helmetspeakers.741.com/images/forumAds/101_1126.jpg http://helmetspeakers.741.com/images/forumAds/101_1128.jpg After a little break we headed down the hill, the trail we did was the 1.5 mile North Grove, the trail is flat and an easy walk for people not in great shape (myself). At the beginning of the trail there is a very large tree stump. http://helmetspeakers.741.com/images/forumAds/101_1137.jpg Kyle is acting like he is the tree. http://helmetspeakers.741.com/images/forumAds/101_1134.jpg Kenny is pointing at the age ring on the tree for the year he was born, can you say old! http://helmetspeakers.741.com/images/forumAds/101_1135.jpg Jerry is taking a break in the shade of the large tree. http://helmetspeakers.741.com/images/forumAds/101_1138.jpg I see Heather looking at me, I think she is telling me to jump! http://helmetspeakers.741.com/images/forumAds/101_1136.jpg The paths in the park are great, makes for easy walking. http://helmetspeakers.741.com/images/forumAds/101_1144.jpg Kinda look like a lava flow. http://helmetspeakers.741.com/images/forumAds/101_1149.jpg http://helmetspeakers.741.com/images/forumAds/101_1148.jpg http://helmetspeakers.741.com/images/forumAds/101_1163.jpg After the hike and a short rest we headed home.
  14. The park is in the sierra Nevada's in central california. The park is very densely forested so most of what you see from the roads are two lines of trees. There are some areas with views and they are some great views. the roads are some great riding. The reason I went to this park was to see the sequoia trees. That wood pecker tried to peck his way into the motor home for 3 days.
  15. I have a 06 RSTD. Im getting alternator whine from somewhere on my frontend when i get to around 60mph and up. Varying intensity I dont know if theres a weak ground or something. Does anyone else hear a whine around the speedo when they get up that fast. The other part of this is I tried checking my grounds. SOMEONE PLEASE check With a VOM mV from the neg lead to the battery and the pos lead to the bars. Then turn to ignition. Everywhere on my bike shows gounded 2.5mV but the bars and tank show 200-300 mV. Dont know if this means anything. Dont know why the bars arent grounding as they're attached to the triple trees and those show good. I know 300 mV isnt crap but it may point an issue. Please any ideas im going on a long trip in a few weeks and, this sound is driving me insane. Thanks Jeremy
  16. I bought the entire front end off of an 86 this past winter to install on my 83 so as to get the better brakes and damping system. Here is my problem. This set up came without the top triple tree. I was trying to decide what would be the easiest way to install these, just the tubes and use my present trees or use the lower tree that is now on the forks and use my top tree. I checked part numbers and the lower tree numbers are the same but the top is different. The tubes are also of different numbers. Would those of you who have switched these front ends like to share your experience in this modification. Did you use your old trees or the later or just how did you come up with a solution? Thanks mucho in advance. Dick
  17. Anybody else got fruit trees? No exactly an Orchard but I planted six semi dwarf fruit trees this weekend. Three variety of apples, one each plum, peach, and cherry. We may plant more but a start for now at the camp. MamaMo planted more Roses and a Blueberry bush.Taking vacation time over Easter break to do more work at the camp. Now if those pesky deer leave the trees alone.
  18. Guess we were lucky with Fay.....lost some trees and some of my fence. others around here had large trees going through their house. Now we have Gustav looming out there.......grrrrr
  19. Have you ever been out riding and rode through one of those cool moist shady spots. You can instantly feel the temp drop 15 - 20 degrees and it feels so refreshing on a hot day. Thats the way it is at our camp. I sat in the front yard beside the porch and watched the Sun rise at 4:00 pm. The trees across the road cause an early sunset at around 7:30. I'm re thinking my plan to cut some of those shade trees before replacing the old house. I worked outside on the scoot all day in the shade very nice.We have moss growing all around the house instead of grass. I can't take the heat so this is a needed change. The evening sun turns our house into a bake oven in the afternoons. I guess you will find me at the camp.:cool10: MamaMo says she gets cold easy. Funny thing she came in Sunday evening laid down and sleep for 12 hours.:rotf:
  20. Flowers are bloomin, trees buddin out. Just a great overall day for a ride. http://s7.photobucket.com/albums/y262/venturerider/Sleeperhawks%20Mechanic%20SC%20Muskgrove%2020080217/
  21. I just heard all the lizards fell out of the trees and froze last night. :rotf:
