Looks like an additional 23,000 Illinois employees are under the gun this time. Cannot blame Caterpillar but it would definetly hurt this towns economy. Hope they get something worked out. http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20110328/bs_nm/us_caterpillar

After a record setting spring for cool weather and rainfall we had a heavy rainfall last night and the rain has nowhere to go because we live on such a wide flat plain. The TransCanada hiway has been closed, forcing people to take a 200 km detour. They are actually evacuating a couple of smaller towns and their hospitals. I would recommend you avoid Southestern Alberta and SouthWestern Saskatchewan for the next couple of days. I will keep you posted when traffic will start flowing normally again. http://www.leaderpost.com/State+emergency+declared+Maple+Creek+after+reports+flood+waters+heading+towards+town/3171973/story.html http://www.cbc.ca/canada/saskatchewan/story/2010/06/18/sk-flooding-1006.html Brian

Ok all you far riders and local yocals to the great state of Arizona.. Reading the recent post about the Canyon area brought up a question for you guys.. A few years ago I was exploring the Black Hills of SD and stopped for lunch in a small town.. There were a couple hitch hiker backpacking hobos there who I got yappin with.. We got talking about how much fun exploring Ghost Towns is and they asked me if I had ever been tothe one just off 40 - I think they said west of Flagstaff - that no one has been able to figure out exactly where it came from.. Anyone know what, where, how to find it and the like on this?? Any other really cool out of the way Ghost Towns and the like you would be willing to share??? Planning another bike trip!!! Thanks for the help!! 'Puc

the new wing is finally fully decked out. put the eutopia back rest on this morning and my edsets. going to test everything in the morning. had to stop on the chrome because it was getting close to the point of being gaudy. just a couple of small touches left. there is just to much available for wings. getting to be like harleys, and the stuff is cheap. i love it. cheapest i ever got off on decking out a bike. i'm going on a flood check ride in the morning. if anyone wants to go along your welcome. the bus leaves at 5:30 am. will probably head up the west side of the mississippi to check on the small towns where the levy broke. wish i was younger so i could help sand bag , but would get in their way now. maybe there is something i could do to help. just have to see whats going on. just can't imagine what it feels like to lose everything you have. bill

I'm glad I have a strong second gear. Thats about all I get to use down here.Hwy 12 is the only hwy on Hatteras Island and one of the most heavly patroled roads I've been on.No such thing as a little test run here. The speed limit is 35 mph through most towns with some 25 mph limits. A few stretches between towns are 45-55mph and not 56mph. It was fun ridng after dark last night. Some body got pulled over right beside of me. The instrument lights have a bad connection in the dash and my speedometer light kept going off so hard to see the guages. This is the only place I have ever got 44 mpg on the Red Baron. It would be nice to out run the mosquitoes. For now it's practice chuging through town like the harleys do.Not cool getting passed by a moped.
