Spotted a Mk II going south on Hwy 27 just as I was turning north on 27 going into Newnan, was going to give chase but by the time I turned around he was gone and could have gone in any of 3 different directions. It was a two tone brown, didnt recognize the rider, I was on my V Star, he looked my way but did not wave. Was it anyone from here?? OH and it is only 2 weeks till VOGEL:dancefool::dancefool:

If you look inside of mine there are like little triangles facing forward and a bunch of them. Not sure of the purpose but I am wondering if I remove them somehow will I get a better tone. They really do not sound much different them the OEM's.....

Sat about noon I saw a 2007 balck/blue RSV heading south on A1A along with another bike. Bike looked loaded down so im guessing he was on a trip. This was in the Mayport area of Jacksonville and the rider had on a two tone ballistic jacket with florescent green panels. No, I didnt see what undies he had on.....anyone we know?

Saw 4 1st gen ventures total other than mine. A awesome Mk II two tone gold Royale, a Burgundy Mk1 that was in great shape that I parked next to for a few hours. A black two tone Mk II royale that looked brand new! Wow that was a sweet looking bike. and a Burgundy Mk1 that.... well.... I've seen parts bikes that looked in better shape. but it ran! I see 2nd gens all over the place, but they disappear into the harleys so you have to look close, some very nice custom ones. and NO fjr1300's. I wanted to show my wife one and there is none to be seen. I'll post some photos later, Having too much fun.

My 07 is just over 3000 miles and it seem over the last two weeks the bike is getting louder.. I have had to turn up the volumn on the stereo up two numbers.. It sounds mostly like exhaust tone,, I haven't put a wrench on the exhaust collars but they seem tight. Is this normal?

I bought an 89 Royale and the radio has a couple of problems. First off, the volume control is extremely sensitive. One click from all the way down and the radio is at medium volume. At 2 clicks, it's loud, and at 3 its as loud as it gets. Also, the tone control seems to have very little effect from one extreme to the other. I took the control unit apart and checked the volume and tone potentiometers, and they are good. Does anybody have a more complete schematic than the one line page that's in the manual?? Frank D.

If anyone is looking for 1989 venture royal. I have a buddy that just bought a harly, so he's going to sell his venture. It's a nice bike and is two tone maroon. We are going to put it on craig's list and maybe ebay shortly. Send me a message if anyone is interrested. Jerry

Been a few postings latley concerning Stebel Horns, and horns in general. Last few days I've been researching " Horns " as to the loudest avialable. I drove around the other day, looking for " Stebel " Horns, couple of auto parts, and 2 motorcycle dealers. The answer was " we don't carry them " . Hmmm ?? Ok, yesterday I was at local auto parts, to get something else, I noticed Horns on the shelf, labled, " CARRAND HORNS " They were shaped, about the same as the " Volvo Horns " or " Fiamm " car horns that we are all familiar with. These were Labled, " Magnum Blaster, Horn, 138 Decibels " So on close examination, I see they are actually made by " STEBEL " !!! --Apparently, Stebel Horns, are being sold in the U.S. Under other brand Names -- So I bought one, the " High Tone " took it home, and Tried it on The bench with spare Battery, WOW!!! IT WAS LOUD. !!!! I compared to my bike which has 2 of the WOLO, ( same as Volvo, and Fiamm style ) ( 119 DB ) And the original BEEP Beep OEM Yamaha installed. ( total of 4 units installed ) ----- THE ONE, HIGH TONE, STEBEL 138DB WAS LOUDER, THEN THE 4 HORNS INSTALLED ON THE BIKE !!!! ---It actually hurt my ears, the bike installation, did not. ( Test, done , INSIDE the garage, with doors closed ) So I ran down and bought the Low tone, I installed the Two STEBEL's in place of the 2 WOLO's, and My - &*$%^ are they loud. No Air pump to mess with. I have them mounted Inside the Air Intaks on each fairing. Just remove the Plastic Grill, an Stuff them into the Air Intakes. Its a tight fit, but they do go in. The " Carrand Horns " P/n is 3-0115 and 3-0114--- The instructions, claim they should be fused at 10 Amps-- Each---- I am useing a Bosh Relay, and #16 Wires, and have a 15 AMP ATM type, fuse, feeding power to the Bosh Relay. Useing #16 stranded wire, to carry Power. Stock Horn Switch supplies a Ground to the Relay Solinoid. I'm not saying this is the best set-up, but, ---- I'm Happy with it !!!! Beep Beep Beep, ( no more of that nonsence !! ) Bye the way, Its still Raining in Seattle !!!!

I had a chance to ride with another Venture today that was identical to mine but with MANY more toys on it. So, I got to see what mine would look like with lots of toys. He had aftermarket pipes on it that sounded pretty good. He said they are Sampson slipons but didn't remember the model of the pipes. He said he bought them because he wanted Fishtails. I really liked them because they weren't overly loud, but had a nice tone to them. I thought I would ask opinions on a couple of forums about Sampson. Do any of you have experience with them - good or bad? How is their quality? craigr

Just installed khrom werks slipons on 2007 venture. Very good sound but just a little loud for better half. Does anyone know if you can remove baffles and add packing to tone down slightly. If so how is it supposed to be done and with what kind of packing.

Ordered khrome werks slip on but have not heard in person. Heard a set of bub sleepers that had nice deep tone. The only sound clip of khrome werks that i could find did not sound as deep but i realize that i am hearing on internet. Could someone that owns khrome werks let me know is tone is close to bubs before i call and change my order.

Can the baffles in the stock pipes (83)be drilled? I would like a better tone, but do not want to buy pipes at this time. If they can, has anyone done it and do you like the tone? I dont want an obnoxious tone, just some more "bark" Thanks
