So what is a good small, good sleeping bag to pack on a bike. I've been packing the same one for years, and is big and bulky. I'd like one that is much smaller, but doesn't cost a ton. Not a winter bag, spring thru fall. Price does matter! Suggestions?

Just tossing around an idea of upgrading to a 3/4 ton truck. I'm going to need one next spring for sure. I stopped at a Ford dealer and drove a F-250 with the 6.2 v8 gasser in it. Seemed like a good package for what little I drove it. I need the suspension etc. but I dont want a diesel. Wont use it enough as a workhorse to want to go full time diesel. I thought about the mileage issues etc. with gas vs. diesel. But adding a reliable 2nd pickup is another expense of licensing and insurance. Not to mention the cost of buying a good used 3/4 ton, would probly make it worth just buying a new 3/4 ton and having one good truck. So I guess I'm asking if anybody has any experience with the 6.2. My other option is going with a Dodge, havent ruled that out either.

Still naked as a jay bird but got it running tonight. Started, ran & idled fairly good for what its been through. Stripped to frame, new engine, heads and a ton of other stuff. I so happy I could just poop. i have nerve damage to left hand and significant strength loss as well. i would like the collective experience of you all help me decide the best course of action. let me preface by saying i really don't want an automatic clutch setup (at least not now). i can probably adjust the lever to where it actuates much closer to the grip, thereby reducing the length of stroke required to engage/disengage the clutch - does anyone see a drawback or potential long term problem with that? i know there is a ton of knowledge & experience in this group and i am counting on you guys & gals to get me back on my bike ......and thanks a ton in advance. buz

I picked up this old custom built truck to haul firewood for the camp, haul weed eaters, chainsaws, and make diesel fuel runs for the tractor. Actually I drive it most of the time making the 1 mile trip down to the camp for the weekend. It has a 3/4 ton frame with an added dually kit. A steel flat bed with an 87 1/2 ton cab. 350 V8 with a 4 speed manual transmission and I love that granny gear for working. My question is on the 87 cab what is the color code on the temp gage wire coming through the firewall harness. I need to hook it up to the block sending unit.

Not m/c related, but do any of you have a recommendation for a hand held camcoder? The wife wants to get one (to put onto a tripod) to tape her dance class, and I am thinking that getting one that would also then work on the bike - maybe even mounting the thing - might "kill two birds with one stone" - heehee. Don't want to spend a ton of money - went onto Amazon - and looks like they have a bunch under $350.00/$400.00 - but if I could even get on for slightly less than that - that would be cool as well. Thanks in advance for any feedback - input.

Cleaned up scrape steel at in-laws and throw more on I had myself to fill up dump truck. Called three local scrap yards about price of scrap today. Received three different prices. No brainer. Go to highest payer. BUUUUUT! Highest payer quotes $75.00 a ton. I haul in 4,080 lbs. Receive check for $136.61. I drive home before looking at check. I've been boned! Call scrape yard and ask "What gives you quote $75.00 a ton". He tells me he pays $75.00 for a "LONG TON". I ask what the --- is a "LONG TON"? He says "a LONG TON is 2,280 lbs". WHAT? Has anyone ever heard of this LONG TON term? It's the principle of the thing that gets my goat. I am doing this to help out my in-laws who could use every penny they can get. Only to be boned in the end. If there is such a thing as a LONG TON I won't feel quite so bad. Still though I feel he misrepresented his price by not explaining that there are {maybe} two meanings for the word TON. But if no one has ever heard of this term I'm ------ and it isn't over!

Well as many of you know my wife aka MOM had total hip replacement about 2 months ago. She is up and around and thinking she is indestructable LMAO. Shes back to work and riding her little scooter all over town. Shes doing pretty good. AND she quit smoking! Even better! I have made up another site with trip pics, trip stories, mom's random photography, rants, biker products ( I have gotten a ton of stuff from businesses wanting me to write reviews for the Magazine) etc...Its a work in progress. BE WARNED: IF YOU ARE THE OVERLY SENSITVE TYPE YOU SHOULD AVOID THE SITE! http://vikingwarhorse.webs.com/ Its just me being me.

"Whatever you give a woman, she's going to multiply. If you give her sperm, she'll give you a baby. If you give her a house, she'll give you a home. If you give her groceries, she'll give you a meal. If you give her a smile, she'll give you her heart. She multiplies and enlarges what is given to her. So - if you give her any crap, you will receive a ton of sh**." (Just ask Sleeperhawk!!!)

If anyone might be interested in owning a custom built bike/car hauler I've listed my '46 Chevrolet truck for sale in the classified section. I also have a 1937 Chevrolet 1 1/2 ton (stock) short wheel base with a 10 ton hoist available if anyone knows of someone who may be interested.
