This evening, whenever I click on the 'go to new post' chevron to the left of a thread title, I get this: [h=2]vBulletin Message[/h] No Thread specified. If you followed a valid link, please notify the administrator These are in fact new posts that have been posted since my last visit to that thread. The workaround: When I click on the thread title and then to 'view first unread', I arrive at the newest unread reply. I would like to save a few clicks, so please restore the 'go to new post' chevron functionality. Thanks.

This has somewhat adult content - Was on Yahoo News, but you may not want to explain each little item to your 13 year old - I warned you. Title was supposed to say views swapped, not vies swapped. http://screen.yahoo.com/flip-side-dating-000000612.html Gary

So today I went to title & register my motorcycle's trailer. Went to DMV where they charged me $10 for a title, $18/yr for registration, $8/yr CITY personal property tax and $35 for STATE sales & use tax. So I say: "But I already paid sales tax at the store" Her answer... "It DUDN'T matter, there's a state minimum of $35 that the state charges on all titles".... I GOTTA MOVE!

Since my beloved Motorvation Trailer got legs and walked off I've been dilegently shopping for a replacement. I ran across this one and am having a hard time figuring out just exactly what the make and model is. The seller says it's an Escapade Elite, but when I check the website I find nothing that matches it. The current models all have a rear end that looks the same but the front end with the extra hatch isn't there. So now I wondering if this is really an Escapade?? I like the looks, and the seller states it's never been used. He also added he was the second owner??? I might also add, the title on the thing looks a little iffy.... I've been down the title road before, and do know when to walk away. Any input would be appreciated...

There's been mention a few times on this forum of a video ALL motorcyclists should watch, but for the life of me I can't remember the name of it. Does anyone have any ideas. I'm sure I'd know it if I heard the title. Ideas please.

Trying to salvage an 83 that has been traded a couple of times and title lost. This is Tennessee and they want a title to register bike. Anybody got a clear title on a bike that is being parted out and would sell the frame and title, or at least the removable lower frame bar and a title? VIN number has been checked and it is clean, but the person that is on the title can not be found. It has probably been several years since this bike has been on the road. Already looked at the re-title companies and they want $300 to 400 bucks. RandyA

I have an 83 Venture with a second gear problem that I bought really cheap to fix and restore. The problem is I do not have a title for it. The VIN is clean but I don't know who the last legal owner was since the bike has changed hands a few times with no title. With today's privacy laws, I have no way to find out either and my state will not allow me to title it without the "owner" signing over the title. So I'm am considering is it worth buying a bare frame with good clean title and swapping EVERYTHING to a new frame? Since I'll have the bike torn down anyway to fix the trans. Obviously the 83-85 is essentially the same bike. How about the later 87 model 1300? Are the frames the same? All said and done, I think I can fix the trans and new frame and end up with about $1000 invested. Worth it?

Last September 6th I traded my 2009 Silverado Z71 in on a 2011 Silverado Z71 and financed a portion of the purchase price. I paid $17 doc fees and $25 Title fees. I never asked questions about it , didn't have cause to. In the middle of November I paid off the mortgage on the truck and waited for the title to arrive. The last week of November I got an 8 1/2" X 11" sheet of paper saying that I could take it to my local title department and get a title. I did and it cost $16 for what I thought I had already paid for. After a call to the dealership and talking to the business whatever she was called I found that when you finance a vehicle that there is never a title issued. Everything is "electronic" and I guess it save's the .32 cents to mail a title to you and evidently nobody ever has a clear title to their vehicle. I'm still trying to figure how I can make life miserable enough for the dealer so that they will refund my $16 that I thought I had already paid for a paper title. I'm relatively sure I won't win but it'll be fun jabbing them as often as I feel like it.

Can you say SCAM????? I had my hopes up that I might be able to pick up a Valk at a very favourable price but the return E-Mail seems to be screaming "SCAM". This is the return message: the bike is still for sale and is in excellent condition as you can see from the pictures. Some minor plastic scratches,no accidents or any kind of damage and it has a clear title. If you are interested in buying it, the price is $****.00 and this is with shipping costs to your location included. I'm selling the bike because I can't use it due to my new job (I work as a casino dealer on a cruise ship) and I don't have anyone in the US to whom I can give it. All documents, including owner's manual, clear title and a bill of sale on your name will be provided along with the bike. Also about payment and shipping I will use only eBay Vehicle Protection Program so we can both be protected. If you are interested in buying it please provide me your full name and address so I can initiate the deal through eBay. Man, I hate that!

On the "Farewell / good by" thread, I read your post and looked up and noticed the title has got to be all wrong. Insteaad of this> It should read > VentureRider.org Dedicated to Yamaha's GREAT Royal Star Venture, The Antique Venture Royal and all Royal Star Motorcycles. Bryan

How much does a salvage title hurt a vehicle?? I've been looking for a older truck for a 2nd vehicle. Friend offered 08 Ranger w/44k for $6500. Didn't really want one that new but... This thing was rolled and rebuilt. It looks like a new truck. Super sharp!! Awlsome job on it. About what would it be worth and what does the salvage title hurt later?

Two friends were always trying to out-do the other in every thing they did. The first said, "I'll bet I can post on the forum and get more replies than you." The second accepted the challenge. 30 minutes later the first said, "Ha, 25 replies already, how are you doing?" The second answered, "128 and climbing fast." "How can that be? My post commented on the economy, the government, religion and all my pets. How could you possibly get more replies?" "I put a misspelled word in the title!"

Title pretty much says it all. I've sent a few private messages, but have been unable to tell if they were sent since they don't show up in my SENT messages folder. Am I missing something? (Other than the messages that is )

Boss, Maybe you could once again urge the members to utilize the "Custom User Title" to show what the are riding. We all know how much easier it is to respond to problems/questions if it is known up front for what specific motorcycle they are seeking help/answers.

Hey Boss, Is there a way I can change the title to thread that is visible other that in the first post? I see where you can get to change the title of a thread but it is only viewable in the first post. I would like to see the change in the list of thread titles like when you select New Posts or go tone of the other forums. Why Is ask is that one of my recent threads has been solved and I had made a mistake in the title. My intentions were to fix the error and let everyone know the issue had been solved. I can live with it either way, just hoping it were possible. Thanks, Rick

In Oct 2008my wife and I bought a 86' Venture and a small, color matched trailer to tow behind the bike. It was a package deal. We bought it from a guy in Long Island and at the time we lived in SC. The trailer has no title. This wasn't an issue in SC because there's no registering/titling trailers there. However, we've since moved to NV and here it needs to be registered. I've looked all over the thing and the only thing I could find is a Coleman stamp on the bottom of the fiberglass shell. I took it to the NV inspection and they looked and looked for a vin to no avail. They basically said there was nothing I could do without a vin or title. I've tried to contact the guy I bought it from but he is long gone and I'm certain that even if I could get a hold of him he wouldn't have anything. I got a form from the DMV about applying for a title if it's homemade but this thing totally does not look homemade. I've thought about dismantling it and building a wood frame to make it look homemade and then put it back together later but that seems ridiculous. I don't know what to do? Please help!

hello . i have a friend who owns a motorcycle shop. he has a 84 venture sitting there just like mine. well he worked on it durring the winter. i didnt know he did this or i would have had mine in there. but anyways back to the question on hand. after working on it . he has had it for over 5 months and so far the owner has not called or made any contact with him when he called the phone number its no longer in service? we rode over to the address where the man was suppose to live. and he has been taken to prison. for over 15 years? my friend said he would like to get this out of his shop. i offerd him the cost of the work and parts he done on the bike. plus what it might take to get a title.? i offten heard about something called a mechanics lean/ but cant that get you a title? this bike runs well. looks crappy. but for around $360.00 for the work he done. and what a title might cost it could be well worth it?.

I noticed several people are selling bikes as parts bikes because they dont have titles.I had a 1981 sr250 that had no title. The last it was titled was in Ohio in 1987. I live in Indiana. Being the privacy act I was not allowed the names on the last owner that had a title. So I tried to go through the Indiana BMV. that was like talking to a wall. The next step was to go to court to get a judge to sign so i could get a title. The cost was $130 just to go in the court room. With the chance the judge says no i did not go that route. Found a place on the internet called International title.. Called the number sent the paper work they requested. Three weeks later I had a registration and plate. This was from Maine. (legal)Transferd plates to Indiana and it was done. Some states dont need a title for motorcycles after 15 years. Just thought this might help someone out...By the way the plates and registration cost me $140 through International title.

There seem to be quite a few posts on this site where the title really gives one no clue as to what the poster is going to say or wants. If I'm in a hurry, and skimming for posts that are most relevant to me, I may miss something. Likewise, after a period of time, if I'm looking for a thread that contained something I needed, it may be hard to locate based on a generically worded title. M&E's even in the planning stages should contain the location and dates. Requests for mechanical help should contain the model of MC in question. And so on. Thank you. End of sermon.
