Deb and I are going for a weekend ride next week. Where you ask? Where ever the front wheel takes us. Looking for anyone that would like to join us. We live near Joliet, Ill. As of now, we have no plans other than to leave about 9 or 10 am on Sat and be back home sometime Sunday afternoon/evening. Basically, we will ride till we are tired and then try to find a room, then get up and do it again till we get home. Looking for something scenic and slow. No bar hopping or spending hours in a parking lot shooting the breeze. Don't get me wrong, we enjoy jaw jacking from time to time but this ride will be about the ride.

Yesterday I fired the VR to go to my DOT physical. She settled into an idle at about 1200 rpm when the norm has been more like 800 or 900. Later that day, after say 100 miles of running errands (I may have taken the long way, all day) it now seems to smell very rich, real gassy. As in gasoline, not gassy like me after Mexican food. And it may have a slight stumble on one cylinder. It ran fine when I shut it off the previous time it ran. I ran it Sunday, went to work Monday till Wednesday night and got on her Thursday morning. It just sat in the shed from the time it ran fine till it now runs differently. And not in a good way. I had the carbs cleaned and tuned after I bought it. I run ethanol treatment religiously and have sea foamed it regularly. Any suggestions? Maybe the diaphragms or one of them, went bad? -

My lawyer and Barrister worked really hard today for four hours, negotiating my claim. It was diminished a fair bit, but the best outcome they could achieve under the circumstances. It will be about three months till any funds are in our bank.... but big decisions to be made now!!!!! Only one I'm sure of is: "See you in 2013" Plans to follow

I got the valentines day gift out of the way early.Dinner and a Blake Shelton Concert Friday night in Charleston. Now I think I'm covered till Easter.

I was loading my 86VR on the motorcycle trailer and did not notice the front of it was to low to the ground which made a hump where the ramp meets the trailer and when I was riding the bike up the bottom of the oil filter housing on the engine caught it and took a chunk out of it. I will have to wait till I have a day off to drain the oil again and see how bad it is. I hope I did not ruin the block. Tom

When should a carb tune be done? (after how many miles) or do you wait till something doesn't seem right? Is there a set schedule to do this?

just got an email to say that the trike didn't leave Portland till the 1st October!!!!! So probably won't have it here at home till near the end of November now :crying::bang head: Once the container of bikes is handed over to the shipping line, it's up to them when it sails apparently

The new BMW K1600 GTL looks like my Gen 1 replacement when they start coming on the used market a couple of years from now. (I assume Yamaha will still have done nothing by then). Anyone else started looking at them? At least on paper as there are none at the dealers till spring.

The ex has managed to lose another great paying job again and her boyfriend had to take her to court to get her out! So she told me and the kids she was renting a house just down from their school. I meet to get my daughter and my son stays with her for his football practice. The next day she loads up and moves to TN and I don't know till last Sunday! She told me I can't do a thing about it she's the mom and the court told her she can do what ever she want and I have to deal with it! Wrong! My lawyer got me full custody till Oct, now I just have to get her to bring my son up by Friday if not then the courts and police will take care of it. She has to be the most educated person with no common sence out there!

It is amazing how you can leave home anticipating a great reunion with friends made, and the prospect of making new friends, have a fantastic time, ride till your seat is worn out, imbibe till the inhibitions drop away ( and then some), eat till your pant size needs to increase, win stuff to the point of embarrassment, appreciate the true quality of people we met and come home to find the world has not crashed, the garden grown, turkeys, goats and pets missed us. Thank you Venture riders for the fellowship and memories we have brought home with us and we certainly look forward to more opportunities. Teri n Erv

Many new friends have been made in this time, and lots of the country seen including both oceans and the majority of the mountain ranges on this continent. I realise how lucky I have been to be able to be the man who has taken you to these places. They are memories that I will always cherish and remember till we are no more. I like to see the US maps people have on their posts to show where they have been. I would like to do that also but, haven't figured it out yet. Can someone please explain how I can do this. I have plenty of time now cause I had rotator cuff surgery and I'm not supposed to ride till the end. Of July. Thanks Reno.

Just today I have activated my 9Th. yes thats right #9 as of today; I had the first droid when they came out. had problems till they replaced it 4 times. they then upgraded me to the droid 2 for free. nice of them I know. and today they just gave me my 5 th. Droid 2 had everything from dropped calls, screen with white band wouldn't go away, cant answer till calling party hangs up then you have to look and see who called then call them back, speakers quit working, screen goes black and locks up, phone gets quieter as you talk till you cant hear your party talk, weekly calls to phone co. to try to fix problems. most having a temp fix of pull the battery and then put it back and restart. several fixes of wipe it out and reboot to factory settings. in most cases this was another temp fix if at all; but one they seem to like doing in store today at the store there were three other people there with droids all with similar complaints anyways was wondering if anyone else has had this much trouble with there phones ..... OK I feel better now.

I have an 89 Venture. I replaced the battery about 1 1/2 years ago. I have a Decka. Bike has been sitting in storage for about 1 1/2 months. Went to start it today battery was dead. Jumped it with car and it would run but when I took off the cables it died. restarted and let it run till it warmed up. removed cables and it would idle. When try to get the rpms up it started to sputter and tack would go all over the place and gauge would go towars the bottom. When let it idle every thing was fine. Is it because the battery is drained so much or is there other problems. This has never happened before. Bike has 100,000 miles on it. I plan on putting battery on charger in the morning and leaving it there till the afternoon. Thanks in advance
