I wanted to add a couple of new switches, but I wanted the switches to be accessible by my thumb without moving my hand. Two push button switches. 1) for my Walmart special 55 watt really small lights that I hooked to the mirror brackets. This to get the attention of whom ever I feel the need to see me. Its a push switch. Push it, it is on. Let it go, it is off. 2) I plan on adding on a couple of rear white LEDS, with same kind of switch.

In my thread "My New Thumb Switch Mount" Bongobobny said the my new thumb switch might look like it could fit a 2nd Gen. I know a couple neighbors with a 2nd Gen so for all you 2nd Gen owners if you are interested in a modified version of the thumb switch please indicate so on this thread. It is important that if you are interested that you post so I can get a rough count. If the numbers are good enough my machiniest friend and I will look into it when I return from vacation. Attached are some pictures of the switch on my 1st Gen. I've hooked SW#1 to a set of 1 inch by 2 inch 55 watt Plattium Burners from Walmart. I call them "Can You See Me Now" Lights. My 2nd switch is being reserved for KIC's instructions to activate your garage opener from a 2nd switch.

Hey does anyone know if Rick quit making and selling his Butler Thumb Nuts? I noticed his classified ad is gone for the 2nd Gens. Thanks, Wally

My neighbors husband past away recently and she asked me if I would help her price and sell her husbands tools. I have found new prices for most of the items but I do not really know how much to mark them down. Can anyone give me a general rule of thumb to use. All of he stuff is in great condition and 3 years old and up.

Long time friends have a daughter with terminal cancer and today they had a poker run to help defray some medical expenses. I didn't know about the run until this AM but decided I could at least make the starting point and help with a donation. It was a 120 mile run with the 5th stop being an afternoon cook out. Hot dogs, hamburgers, ham, slaw, potatoes, baked beans, soda and iced tea. There was some other stuff to eat but I'm on a diet so I didn't pay too much attention. I didn't get an official count but another friend was manning the last station and he had, when I left, 87 cards turned in. What a GREAT day !! oh yeah, my thumb went numb a couple times but it was well worth it. btw - I reaffirmed today that I shouldn't bother playing poker

My visit yesterday was a positive one, I think He said everything was looking good and that the big black puffy bump on the tip of my thumb would eventually go away. The tendon is 'evidently' OK because I can move my upper joint He said that the nerve ending, the one that feels like a lingering 120 volts ac every time I accidently make contact, will (hopefully) go away. If not, he can surgically re-locate it. not a big deal, an out patient thing. The bad news to me was that he said I'm looking at in excess of 3 months before anything resembling normal is returned. Unfortunately, the nerve ending that has become troublesome is EXACTLY where my thumb hits the throttle. I could probably ride but when I hit that 'sweet' spot just eating or lounging, I jump till hell won't have it. Can't imagine what would happen on a bike ! The REAL good news is that I still have all my pieces/parts albeit not all that good but they're still mine.

Okay here's the story: Most of you know that AL installed a Spiegler thumb brake on the Quike for me [moved back brake] He recently removed back wheel, replaced tire with car tire, greased all the splines etc. and replaced the rear brake pads.................now we don't have the thumb brake working again! He can get all the air out of the SS braided line, but still not enough resistance on thumb brake. It will bleed properly with original bike master cylinder, but not with thumb brake M/C. I have emailed Squeeze to see if he can ask Spiegler how to do their master cylinder, and for now Quickstep has linked the brakes.....so my question  What is your opinion on dual linked brakes on the Gen 2:confused24:

As I now have a thumb brake on the bike I am finding that it's a bit of a stretch when holding the clutch in and "thumbing" the brake. I have always had problems with the clutch lever on any bike as the thumb has been broken and doesn't have as much flexability. Question: is there an after-market clutch lever that will come in closer to the handlebars??? Or, one that can be adjusted (like the FJR one)??

Just an up-date on the thumb brake installed on the quike. Quickstep had a devil of a time getting it to bleed and get the pressure up, but finally worked. It worked really well on the ride yesterday (Sunday) and isn't taking me that long to get used to. Sure is crowded on the left handlebar though To Qickstep: thanks Possum

I lost my camera because the thumb screw came loose so I emailed the company and explained what happened and tried to get them to warranty it but they wouldn't because they said it was because the thumb screw came loose and that is not covered under the warranty. I kind of figured that but said hey it wouldn't hurt to try. They offered me a new camera for $84 and my pick of any accessory.

Okay, here are pics of the Spiegler thumb brake that Squeeze kindly helped me purchase. Quickstep is putting it on today Gonna have a lot of stuff on the left handlebar! Will post more pics when installed

The cruise control on my bike works fine, but my daily commute has many curves, hills, and places that i prefer to handle the engine power myself. As such I still would like to lock the throttle occaisionally while I relax my hand. Anyone have a plastic thumb locker on their 2nd gen? I don't even know if it will fit.

Just got my "Handy Throttle" in from Cabela's today for my 4 wheeler. Put this on and you twist like a motorcycle instead of pushing with the thumb. I have small hands so I have to stretch with my thumb to even reach the throttle. My hand would ache and my thumb would hurt. Tried an extension, seemed to put it even further back. Found this at Cabela's and hope it will work. file:///C:/DOCUME%7E1/Owner/LOCALS%7E1/Temp/moz-screenshot.jpg Excited to try it out. Let me know if ya have tried it.
