2005 Escape I folded down the back seat on the escape to load something up...then when I went to lift the seat, the middle seatbelt won't "un ratchet" to allow the seat to lift up! I can get it ( the seat) to move about 6" and that's about it. (I had to be very careful how I worded this post to avoid Viagara ads!) I've tried feeding the belt back into the slot..but it won't release tension. I can't pull it out at all. Any suggestions on how to release the tension on a seat belt? The retractor is near the top of the backrest in the middle back seat and is not very accessable when the seat is folded down.

Is there any way to adjust the throttle tension? I don't know if it's gotten dirt in the cable or if something else is happening but it is getting worse. I've got a throttle rocker on it, but its getting so hard to turn it's not much help. Thanks.

Does anyone know if the torsion spring for the cruise control in the throttle cable box has any preload on it? {I.E. 1 or 2 wraps} Or does it just hook up easy? Took it apart and can see how it works but not sure of spring tension for assembly.

My question for the know it all'rs, is why do our scoots use copper core high tension wires instead of carbon core. I have a lot of static in my radio coming from the ignition, it's still there when I unplug the stator. I put in new wires last year and new plugs. It's new plugs every spring for me. This year I tried non resistor type plugs but that was not a direction to go, runs great but the noise is deafening. So back to resistor plugs, but how about carbon core wires. Went through all the grounding issues, shielded cables etc.etc. can't seem to solve this problem.

Hi, My '84's RHS mirror is rock solid and stays where I put it through all kinds of miles. My LHS mirror on the other hand won't stay put and I have to keep repositioning it. It gets pushed towards me at the top presumeably due to the wind buffeting it. Is there a cheap way to re tension the pivots on these mirrors to add more 'stiction'? I keep intending to buy a better one on ebay but never get around to it. Thanks, Brian H.
