I went for a ride today and all of a sudden when I put the left turn signal on it was very dim so I thought I had a bulb out but it would work normal sometimes so when I got home I turned it on the the bulbs would not flash but the taillight would flash. I suppose there is some control box that works it all and this is leaning me more to the Kawi and selling the VR.

I have looked at the threads about wiring in spot lights / running lights. I will be using a relay, mounting it under the seat, fused, etc. I am thinking that the blue wire for the taillight should be in a harnass running under the seat. Would it be sufficient to power my relay from wire running to the taillight so the spot lights are only on when the key is turned on? I am also going to wire in a manual switch up front. Will this wire / circuit handle the load of the relay? Thanks. R.

Does anyone have a clear taillight lens they would be willing to sell? I can't find just a clear lens. I am planning on purchasing an led taillight from radiantz or custom dynamics, and would like to get a clear lens to go with them. I realize clear alternatives makes an led kit that comes with a clear lens, but it has no license plate lights like the others, so I don't want that one. 05 RSTD

I thought I saw it on this site some where, but cannot find it. I am trying to find an LED light to replace the 6" x 1" red reflector located above the factory taillight. I have seen a few at JP and Kuryk. but can't seem to find the one I ran across the other day. Anyone? Thanks

Need some electrical help here. I just replaced the 14 - 5 watt wedge bulbs in my lower light bar. So my questions are and am I correct in the following: 1) Amp draw for the 14 X 5 watt incandescent bulbs I removed was: 14 X 5 wts ea = 70 wts divided by 12 volts = 5.83 amps and 2) Amp draw for the 14 LED wedge bulbs I just installed is: 14 X .026 amps at 12 volts = .364 amps Therefore; reducing the load by some 5.46 amps. I also replaced both the stock 1157s in the taillight with LEDs purchased from "superbrightleds.com" and believe me, they ARE brighter. I then tied in the light bars into the taillight wiring in order to increase the load on that circuit. This seems to have eliminated the "warning" light on the dash from thinking a taillight bulb was blown. So what they come on together. Now whenever the brake light circuit is activated, the amp gauge doesn't drop at all and I have more even more visibility at all times. I used to be concerned watching the amp gauge drop significantly while sitting at a light for extended periods of time holding the brakes on. Are my above calculations correct or am I way out there in left field? Perhaps somebody more inclined than I can advise. Thank y'all

Do any members own a crewcab extra shortbed truck (5' 9" bed), and hauled a cruiser type bike in it? Not a Venture but something like V-star 1100, 650lbs, 8 ft. overall lenght. With my tailgate down I got 91.5", the rear tire would set right on the tailgate, fender and taillight would be out past it. Tailgate is supported by 2 cables, that scares me! I own a 1/2 T Chevy and a 5 X 8 trailer but would rather not drag it, gas mileage is bad enough.

Has anyone installed LEDs in the 1st gen in place of the 1157 bulbs and if so, what did you use and how do you like it. I found that I have a burnt out running light in my taillight and was thinking about using an LED bulb for them. Thanks, Rick F.
