Today was a beautifull day in the Cascade mountains of WA state, and my sweetie and I rode our '88VR from home here in the Tacoma WA area, over Chinook Pass (Hwy 410) and down the eastern slopes stopping at Whistlin Jacks Lodge for a huge fish and chips lunch, then on a little farther on to see the newly realigned highway replacing the one that was buried in Americas biggest landslide on record, then turning around and came back home the same route. 264 miles round trip and achieved 49.63 mpg by keeping to the posted speed limits, and running mostly on cruise control. Amazing..... for me that is. I think my bike is running well........ and I just might squeeze a 245 mile range out of a tankfull of 89 grade fuel. Just sayin...... -Pete, in Tacoma WA USA '83,88 Venture

I am looking for recommendations for two top RSV dealers in Western Washington. Or to put it another way; Who have you been most satisfied with, both from a service and sales standpoint? I am familiar with Tacoma Motorsports, Eastside Motosport in Bellvue, and I-90 Motorsports in Issaquah. None of these seem to be interested in RSVs and one place I couldn't even get someone to get off the A$$ to find out what I wanted (hello Tacoma). I have been happy with service at I-90 Moto in Issaquah (for my VStar) but their sales group do not seem interested in RSVs. I am willing to spend the bucks at any place between the Oregon border to the Canadian one if I can be satisfied with BOTH the initial experience and (more imortantly) the follow-up service (as they will be my wrench turners). Here is the opportunity to recognize the truely deserving guys (and if you want to warn of the dark side that is OK too). John

This was an email from the Washington State PGR. Just incase someone here in Washington didn't get the info: Ladies and Gentlemen of the Patriot Guard We have been invited to ride with the Brothers-in-arms and our own Former State Captain, Cowboy, to the Wall escort. The date will be July 8th 2009 Staging Area McDonald's @ the end of the 512 in Tacoma (near Eagle Leather) 10417 S Tacoma Way Tacoma, WA 98499-4648 9:30am Staging 10:00am KSU to head north The Brothers-in-Arms will be stopping @ Exit 202 for re-fueling and then proceeding to Smokey Point Rest Area (northbound I-5) to group up for the Escort. (Estimated KSU 1pm) A few things I want to go over since Neither Cullen nor I can attend. 1)While this is not a PGR mission we hope everyone will act in the high standards the PGR represents. 2)The PGR is not a MC (Motorcycle Club) but several other riders will be. Usually, MC’s ride tandem (side-by-side) because the ride next to the same guy over and over. 3)We don’t ride tandem, the PGR rides staggered. It is safer for a group of people who do not ride next to the same guy every time 4)Have fun. Respectfully, Conan PS: while this is not a PGR mission, we are finalizing an official PGR mission for a Flag Line at the opening ceremonies on Friday 7/10/09
