When I was riding my Suzuki Boulevard, I found a really great forum to be a part of. When we switched to the RSDT I was hoping for another great forum. It looks like I found it. I can read and read for hours and still not see all the great stuff here. Even though the Suzuki site was free I will have no problem paying a little bit for the great info here. Great job guys.

suzuki gsx 600 ???, on gas tank shutoff there are off, pri, on, res, what does pri stand for. someone told kid next door it was for city use, on is for the highway, doesn't sound right to me.

I have been riding a Suzuki Intruder vs1400 for years but thinking about the Venture because it has 4 cylinders and 1300cc in a cruiser format (seems about ideal to me) Can anybody compare the two bikes please ?? I have read the tech specs of Venture about weight, seat height, etc But advertisements don't mention other things like long distance comfort acceleration and top end handling in twisties gas mileage in various conditions etc I have found my vs1400 to be pretty much bullet proof so parts failure and maintenance are important to me thanks, Bob

Today the throttle cable on my 88 VR broke while on a ride. Fortunately, I was close to home. The throttle cable broke 26 months and 22,000 miles ago. Is this a problem with 1st-gen Ventures? If so, is there anything I can do to prevent this seemingly premature wear? I had a GS1100GK Suzuki before the Venture. In 9 years and 100,000 miles of use on that Suzuki, I didn't replace the throttle cable once. Nick Diaz Middletown, MD -

Don't know if anyone on here has ever read the stuff at the following link: http://www.pashnit.com/gs850-wht.htm but I found it interesting. This guy starts with his Suzuki GS850 story, then continues on about Ventures, then on to a story about $1000 motorcycles on a 1000 mile ride. For what it's worth, I liked the stories.

We own a RSV and it's now time to start doing my own maintenance (no more local dealer). So I'm buying the tools to do a carb sync and I start thinking about my Suzuki M95/ MS. Do we need to sync the carbs on our V twin's? I've never seen a post about that.

MK1's. '84 Venture Std. Has anyone removed the brake lines to the anti-dive units? I did this on a '82 Suzuki GS1100 and the braking improved drastically. Right now braking is really vague until much pressure is applied.

My Sister-in-Law got me hooked up with a guy that quit riding a few years ago and had a motorcycle sitting around that he wanted to get rid of. Was amazed at how great of shape it was in (especially for what I paid for it). Woohoo!! New toy. 1982 Suzuki GS750. About 8000 miles. I suspect it will take 2 days to get it running unless I run into major surprises. RR

Listing a bike for my Nephew who is a college student in Southern Maryland he is between jobs and the college loan repayment has started. Asking $2800 or OBO 02 suzuki gsxr 600, 13k miles, upgraded to gsxr 750 inverted front end and swing arm. steel braided brake lines, k and n air filter, second look custom seats, ivans style timing retard eliminator, fender eliminator kit with flush mount turn signals, titanium yoshimura tri oval exhaust-race baffle, new battery, fresh oil change, new front and rear continental tires with less than 50 miles, laid it down 3 years ago and didn't want to put the money into it to put it back to stock, frame is straight and drives true and sounds great. no dents or scratches on the tank. $400 on carbon fiber look light setup on the front. Yesterday I joined a 3000 bike spring ride and spotted what I thought was a 1st gen venture. as I got closer riding down the line I saw the Suzuki nameplate on it and that it was what looked like 20% larger in scale in all directions as well as having not only a nice back seat and backrest, but a backrest that went up and then had a headrest! The wife tapped me on the shoulder and said, That looks really comfortable! What Suzuki is that? No I did not snag a photo. We went to the ride without a camera:smilies6:

Last time out I had to quickly brake. As usual the first 50' there was almost no braking. So I.... Eliminated the anti-dives on my 84 Venture Std. "I've got twice the stopping power." It used to bottom out anyways with the anti-dives. Both levers are not spongy anymore. Brakes almost lock up now. Looking for braided brake lines. I did this before on a 82 Suzuki 1100, same result. Cost=0, Improvement=100% (well much better) Use the single banjo bolt from the anti-dive units to get rid of the brake line to them. Then rebleed. -
Question: 2003 and back to about 1998 I believe, VL 1500 Intruder, Suzuki V-Twins. ?? I been researching them as a possible bike for my son. As in, looking for a good deal on a used bike. Anyway, does anybody have any information as to any types of known problems with these bikes. I guess the 2004 and up, are known as the C90 -- From what I can find the 03 and older ones, at least on E-Bay, have been selling for around $4500.00 I found 5 that have sold on E-Bay, this month for that Average Price. So, any comments , good or bad would be apprciated, just looking for information on them at this point. Thanks-

Ok all you wiz's out there. What is the factory torque for the rear axle castle nut on a 1986 Suzuki 1400? The only tech info I can find tells me it is 40-63 fp. That sure seems low to me.

Our local Yamaha dealer finally got a new venture on the showroom floor. We stopped yesterday and looked it over. It's gray ( not exactly my color ) but a very nice looking scoot. Normally he only stocked the goldwings as he is also a Honda and Suzuki dealer. Nice looking Hyabusa Suzuki setting beside it to. I'm still waiting on the 1800 V4 with FI.No plans for a new scoot until after I pay off some debt.

hi guys i am currentley working on my sons 1991 suzuki gsxr 750 i need some help if anyone can help it.. It has a factory suzuki cdi box and stock electronic ignition the bikes firing order is 1,4 & 2,3 the 2,3 fires when i crank the engine but 1,4 never fires. ive tested both coils and they fire and work. there is only one pickup for the electronic igniton Is it possible that the cdi box is no good? If so how would i test that? thanks, Denny

Hello everyone. Just purchased a 99 Venture on Sat Oct. 20th with only 2,500 miles from the original owner. Yes that is the correct mileage. It is Bordeaux Red / Silver. It is replacing my first motorcycle, a 1993 Suzuki Intruder 1400 (I refer to as the poor man's Harley). I have been looking for a Venture for a while and the price and condition was right on this one. The ride is unbelievable and I look forward to clocking many of miles. Hope to see some of you guys around. P.S. If anyone is interested in a Suzuki Intruder 1400, I have one for sale.

yesterday afternoon, i was heading into town,about 5 miles, and saw 5 brand new bikes! all were from the same dealership.all had paper tags. ONE was a yamaha(blue/black 07). all the rest were all black ,and were BIG, suzuki boulevards. what i figured from that, is "you can't sell something you don't have to show!" i think it is ridiculous, that a dealer,can only order/take delivery on a predetermined # of a certain model, based on the population of the area,which he serves!!!!!!!!! yamaha, is committing suicide, while suzuki is PROSPERING!!! just jt
