A Haltom City woman is charged with murder for her involvement in a deadly crash.
The incident happened on Tuesday in the 5800 block of E. Belknap.
According to police, Tammy Sue Stegall's sedan struck a motorcycle being driven by 56-year-old Billy Ray Stroud of Bedford.
Stroud later died at John Peter Smith Hospital as a result of the injuries, police said.
Family friends said Stroud had recently buried his son, who was killed July 30 in Afghanistan. He bought his motorcycle about a week ago after seeing the Patriot Guard motorcycles at his son's funderal.
Stegall, 50, was arrested on suspicion of intoxication manslaughter. The charge was upgraded to murder because she had two previous DUI convictions, police said.
She was in jail on Wednesday on a $500,000 bond.
