My daughter will be spending the night with her against Taters wishes....She is as stubborn as her mother and will remain with her...Will keep you all posted on her conditition...

Been flying RC Planes for sometime now, Had a break in it for the last 3 years. But as Winter is coming on I am back into it as so I do not go CRAZY for the next 4 or 5 months being stuck inside here in Iowa during the winter. bike is all put away and the modeling begins. My Question is ALL this talk about Sea Foam and I use it faithfully and it's wonderful stuff, why would it not work in my older nitro fuel that has been sitting for a couple years? maybe put an once or so in the gal jug? The older fuel has been indoors all this time. for that do not know our airplane fuel has nitro/methane and a percentage of oil in it. and are used in 2 stroke and Four Stroke model engines. Thanks for your in-put Jeff

On May the 2nd I woke up not feeling too well. My left hand was swollen and my arm was tingly numb from fingertips to shoulder. The area around my mouth was tingling. Checked my blood pressure several times and it was continually going up. So off to the Dr. Office I go. He loads me into a meat wagon and sends me to UT hospital where the tests begin. the result was that I had a TIA or mini- stroke. When I was able to go tell the Boss at work they told me I would have to be off until the Dr. Said it would be safe for me to go back to work. BUT, the Medical Dept. Of Norfolk Southern said that I would have to be off for a minimum of 6 months and not have any more TIA's to be able to go back to work. My question is....What do I do with all this time on my hands? Should I still try to make MD?

Well, I went and picked her up yesterday. 1989 Venture Royale. I should have known better though, I went out with a partially dying battery (would not hold a good charge) and somewhat paid the price. I had the radio on (stupid move) and didn't realize it had stalled, while sitting at a long traffic light. Went to go and whoops, nothing. Had to push it through the intersection and a few hundred feet lol. Had people honking at me to tell me their displeasure, even though there was another lane for them to occupy. This was after a few hour trip so no complaints, got it started again and took it straight home. Flushed all of the brake systems today, now nice clean fluid and firm levers. The dealership I got it from must not have realized it was a linked rear master cylinder because the front line and proportioning line were not bled at all but the rear brake line was. They had adjusted the master cylinder stroke so the brakes would constantly drag so I had to lengthen the stroke of the master cylinder. So no parts required, and no more dragging rear brakes. Did a slow panic stop only using the rear master and it works as intended. I have a really choppy idle, above 2000 rpm's she takes off like a rocket and is very fast, under that she's really lopey. I have a set of 4 carburetor diaphragms coming in tomorrow and plan to replace the plugs so hopefully that will help some. I know I am going to have to sync. the carbs. but I need to get some gauges first. Oh and the steering bearings need to be tightened some or replaced, but works fine for the moment. Overall even not running 100% I am happy that I got her, and was able to ride comfortably longer than I ever have before. I am going to upload a video shortly as well.

Hello everyone My wife found this sight and told me to let y'all know where I've been. For those who know me and the ones that don't. I'm doing as well as I can be. On 2-21-2010 I had a stroke. The side effects from this is that I have no life history memory from berth tell 2-23-2010 and now I am also having seizures. The worst thing about this is I have Six children and Ten grand-kids that I don't remember. This is very hard on me not remembering people and things and the Doctor won't let me drive either. I'm working on getting the seizures under control. Maybe then the doc will let me ride. Well all this typing in kind of hard for me to do right now with having to learn where all the keys are . So I'll stop for now. Thanks George C.

Just thought I'd pass this on! Important Information on Blood Clots and Stroke Blood Clots/Stroke - They Now Have a Fourth Indicator, the Tongue STROKE: Remember the 1st Three Letters... . S. T.. R. STROKE IDENTIFICATION: During a BBQ, a woman stumbled and took a little fall - she assured everyone that she was fine (they offered to call paramedics) .she said she had just tripped over a brick because of her new shoes. They got her cleaned up and got her a new plate of food. While she appeared a bit shaken up, Jane went about enjoying herself the rest of the evening Jane's husband called later telling everyone that his wife had been taken to the hospital - (at 6:00 pm Jane passed away.) She had suffered a stroke at the BBQ. Had they known how to identify the signs of a stroke, perhaps Jane would be with us today. Some don't die. They end up in a helpless, hopeless condition instead. It only takes a minute to read this... A neurologist says that if he can get to a stroke victim within 3 hours he can totally reverse the effects of a stroke...totally. He said the trick was getting a stroke recognized, diagnosed, and then getting the patient medically cared for within 3 hours, which is tough. RECOGNIZING A STROKE Thank God for the sense to remember the '3' steps, STR . Read and Learn! Sometimes symptoms of a stroke are difficult to identify. Unfortunately, the lack of awareness spells disaster. The stroke victim may suffer severe brain damage when people nearby fail to recognize the symptoms of a stroke. Now doctors say a bystander can recognize a stroke by asking three simple questions: S *Ask the individual to SMILE. T *Ask the person to TALK and SPEAK A SIMPLE SENTENCE (Coherently) (i.e. It is sunny out today.) R *Ask him or her to RAISE BOTH ARMS. If he or she has trouble with ANY ONE of these tasks, call emergency number immediately and describe the symptoms to the dispatcher. New Sign of a Stroke -------- Stick out Your Tongue NOTE: Another 'sign' of a stroke is this: Ask the person to 'stick' out his tongue.. If the tongue is 'crooked', if it goes to one side or the other, that is also an indication of a stroke. A cardiologist says if everyone who gets this e-mail sends it to 10 people; you can bet that at least one life will be saved.

I usually buy Valvoline 20/50 4 stroke mc oil @ my local oil and lube place. He was out of 20/50. He said that the Valvoline oil reps told him that there was no difference between 20/50 conventional and mc 20/50 and that valvoline was discontinuing mc oil. That the only difference was the label. He said that the synthetics were going to follow suit because there is no difference other than the label. I find all of this hard to believe. I tried to go onto the valvoline websight, but it is temporarily down for maintenance. They probably put conventional computer oil into there 4 cycle system lol! If anyone can shed some light on this dilemma please feel free. This world is becoming twilight Zoney! do do do do do do do do.

Hi Folks. I just got off the phone after talking with Pete (tessac2). He seems to being doing well considering. He has questions from stroke survivors. He was wondering if folks could put their experiances here and in particular interest to him is the bikers who are riding after having a stroke. His left hand is quit weak and at this time he says he could not close the clutch if his life depended on it. His left leg is weak and his foot wont listen too well yet. Not good enough to shift gears he figures. And lastly...balance...the folks in rehab are worried about balance for riding. He tries to peek in here every now and then...but I will print up everything just before we head out to see him next Saturday. Thanks

On Feb 18th my wife suffered a massive stroke to the right side of her brain. Getting her to the Hospital and having her treated with TPA SAVED HER LIFE. Check with your local Hospital concerning their use and the time restriction for the use of this drug. Our Hospital has a 3 HOUR window only for this drug use....In other words if the stroke victim is NOT in the Hospital within 3 hours of the the stroke striking the drug will not be used. My wife spent 4 days in Intensive Care.....she is now in a Rehab Unit and is scheduled to come home on the 4th of March!!! The recovery process that this drug has provided for my wife is nothing short of amazing and fantastic........ ***Tissue Plasminogen Activator (tPA) AHA/ASA Recommendation We strongly urge people to seek medical attention as soon as possible if they believe they're having a stroke or heart attack. The sooner tPA or other appropriate treatment is begun, the better the chances for recovery. Boomer........Grateful for modern medicine in the USA.

Not a position I want to be in for sure! Pete Klassen (TessaC2) is a friend of several of us from this site. You will remember him from PIP twice. On sunday he had a stroke and is now in Saskatoon University Hospital. I have spoken to his wife Hazel and she wanted me to let his buds know about this on the site. The news is not all bad. He is alert and talking just fine. He forgets sometimes where he is. His left side is somewhat paralized but as it stands right now the docs predict a good recovery. Hazel suggested that he will work extra hard to get better as he does not want have to give up biking. Our prayers have already been sent to him and his family personally. I would go up to see him this week but our weather is making such a trip impossible. There is talk that if he is required for a long rehab then Hazel will fight to move him to Calgary where there is the best heart and stroke facility around. I will update if you folks wish. Many thanks to his friend Dale who joined the site just to track me and BigBob down to give us the news.

I'm not real familiar with 2 stroke engines. I'm better with 4 strokers. I have a 1980 Yamaha snowmobile that won't start. It literally ran fine one day, and wouldn't start the next. It almost acts like it's flooding itself. It will start and sputter for a few seconds and then die. Then I have to blow out the cylinders and spark plugs to get it to sputter like that again. I've been into the carb a couple times and can't find anything wrong. This model has an oil injector, meaning I don't have to mix gas for it. It mixes oil and gas itself. How might I check to see if the oil injector is working? Will a two stroke motor run without oil in the gas? Or course I wouldn't want to do that for very long, but the question is, would that be giving me the symptoms I have? Where, oh where has manic mechanic gone so fast? I'm sure he could tell me what's wrong with it.
