I have a 2007 RSTD and would like to put a fairing on it. I prefer a batwing or Stratoliner type. Memphis Shades seems to be the most reasonably priced aftermarket one but, with no Royal Star application. Will any other fit ? Has anyone used a Memphis one their bike? Is there away to modify a Stratoliner one? If anyone has put any one one their bike would you please tell what kind and how to do it. I know there are other threads on this but not with all the info. Thanks Reno

I know, I know. Aren't we all. BaggerShield recently released a new design to fit the Stratoliner Deluxe and we have a 2nd design coming out for the RSV in a few weeks. I'm looking for one of each bike in the Minneapolis, MN area to use as models for product pictures and initial fit up for these new BaggerShield designs. There is something in it for you. First volunteer to send me a PM gets to keep the BaggerShield they will be modeling. The year doesn't matter on the Stratoliner Deluxe but the Venture needs to be a 99 or newer. I'll be offering the same deal to the first gen guys as soon as that design is ready. Should be this fall sometime. Thanks in advance

So for the last 3 years I have been wanting a 2nd bike. I LUV my RSV - I have been waiting and waiting for Yamaha to rev the damn thing and they haven't - BUT that is ok. I got mine pretty much the way I like it - she runs good, she gets double-takes, all the comforts of home. But I wanted something to have "fun" with. Something to make loud and tool-around on. So I have been looking at RSTD's, the Roadliners, and in my wild dreams - maybe someday a Stratoliner. Well after I looked over that 2006 RSTD that had 300 miles on it - was completely disappointed. In this thread I got some good advice from RSTDog, and he was right on the , the gas tank was all rusty, the chrome was pitted and rusty, and it did not run. Damn shame, that bike was practically new - it needed some TLC, but that is NOT what I was looking for. I know some of you guys are good with the grease and a wrench - my life deals with people and 1's & 0's, so tinkering was not part of my game plan for a second bike. So I got a call from a guy who has a bike listed on this forum - he said that if I did not like the RSTD I was going to look at today that he had a 2006 Stratoliner that he would make me a good deal on. So this got me thunkin and thinkin. I spent the entire day yesterday from about 2PM until 2AM, looking and researching the Strato's. I decided that his bike was nice, but I want to keep silver in the family - my fav color, and I wanted an "S" model. So I found 3 of them through various places like ebay, CycleTrader, Craig's List, and private sellers. Right color, decent prices, etc, etc. Spoke with the people selling them and got a feel for who they were and are and what they REALLY wanted. After all the research, I pulled the trigger and made an offer on one of them this morning. It's all good, should be here in about 2 weeks I am guessing. http://i24.ebayimg.com/03/i/001/3a/d5/aa82_3.JPG 2006 Stratoliner S, 1,600 miles, excellent condition, one-owner. I am excited like a little kid on X-Mas!

Well, here it is: 2010 Star line: http://tinyurl.com/2010-Star For the sake of comparison, here's the 2009 offering: http://tinyurl.com/2009-Star No RSTD New Stratoliner Deluxe, no "plain" Stratoliner no Roadliner Midnight no "plain" Roadstar upgraded 1300 Tourer no "plain" 1300 no 1100s, at all no Warriors There are some pricing changes on all models, some more modest than others. I just got an e-mail from Motorcycle.com with this report... No mention of the Venture or RS line at all but the new Stratoliner Deluxe looks pretty cool... Looks like they ripped off the Corbin fairing but the bags don't look as good as Corbin's...

Snarley Bill and I have been "discussing" which direction Yamaha will go with their future touring bike....he says it will be an updated Venture with the new Vmax 1800 engine. I've been saying that I believe it will be based on the Stratoliner. Take a look at the 2010 Stratoliner Deluxe. They are halfway there....fairing, sound system, hard bags, etc. All it lacks for me is 1.) Cruise Control and 2.) the Trunk. Hey Bill.....I can almost taste that Culpepper's Fish!!! Joe

2 weeks ago I was ranting and cussing the Yamaha dealer here in Charleston. Today I took my RSTD to the dealer in Sumter,SC (Xtreme Sports) to see what they could tell me about my crappy running bike (which the Chas'n dealer said was running just fine.) They got the bike in the shop within 15 minutes of my arrival and 3 hours later I rode off with a great running motorcycle. I honestly was ready to trade this bike off for something ....almost anything....except a Stratoliner. It was so nice to find a service manager who cared and a mechanic who knows his trade and does it well. I will not hesitate to ride 100 miles to this dealer again if I need to....I am happy and satisfied!! Art

Need some feedback: I am thinking of trading my 07RSV for an 08 Stratoliner S. Anybody have any feedback on the Stratoliner S? The reason for trading is the RSV is a little heavy for the riding we do. We do some cruising and some trips.

New to the forum so I'd like to say hello to everyone. I bought a brand new Stratoliner S in July of this year and have enjoyed it very much, they are a great bike. After going on vacation last week it kind of dawned on me that it would be kind of nice to have a fully outfitted touring bike. I went to the dealer and checked out the bikes they had and settled on the Yamaha Venture as the bike that I would like to have. I thought I would check here first and see if there was anyone who might want to go the other way and go the cruiser route. As far as cruisers go, there's no beating the Yamaha Stratoliner S as being the best on the market...they are beautiful and handle as good as they look. My bike is spotless with a few accessories, luggage rack, engine guards and Bucks lowers. The bike at this moment has 4500 miles on it but plan on riding it more this weekend. The bikes color is black cherry and again it's absolutely spotless. If this is something you might want to trade for with a late model Venture, or buy you can contact me at mikexup@yahoo.com.

Has anybody put the Yamaha Stratoliner Passing Lamps on their RSV? I used the search function but could not find any information. I would really like to see a photo of them installed. Also how is the beam pattern between the two bubls? I am hopeing to find a dual bulb lamp to fit my RSV, with a driving light pattern and a fog light pattern lamp in one housing. The Stratoliner Passing Lamps look like they might work.

Does anyone here have the stratoliner or roadliner? Would like to pick your brain.

Howdy. I'm ready to spend the cabbage and make my roadliner more tour-worthy. Having second thoughts, as there are great deals on the venture and rstd around... Has anyone switched over, or own both. You're feedback would be appreciated. Thanks Mike

I was out looking for a scooter for my wife (I know, sounds like a fair exchange!) at the weekend when a dealer tempted me to ride an '07 Roadliner. I fell in love with it! Not sure if it was the great sound from the Cobra pipes that were on it or the fact that it's nowhere near as heavy to maneuver as my '03 Midnight Venture, but it got me the bug! Now I know what I'd be giving up, but for pure riding pleasure, I'm tempted to sell or trade the RSMV for either a Roadline, Stratoliner or even a VTX1800T. My scoot has been very much admired for the custom paint, but I have no idea what it's worth on the open market. Anyone have any thoughts? Or better still, anyone wanna buy it???? BTW, it has 26k miles on it and is in very good condition. It's in the gallery here... http://www.venturerider.org/forum/vbpicgallery.php?do=view&g=414 I've added a driver's back rest since the pics were taken.
