Just wanted to share.. As some of you know I like to go through radiators for some reson... any ways. I just installed a new radiator and one of Stave Wagner's Grills. (in hopes of more protection) Steve does awesome work!, I even had it match my Millennium Color! I ordered the paint from Color Rite.. Millennium Color (hard to match), I have been really impressed on how they can match our bike colors.. I myself really like how it takes that black Void out of a light color bike...take a looksy! (before/after) (one happy camper) :thumbsup2:thanks Steve.. Jeff

Any member here who uses a computer to read this site ( and that would be all of us) is using technology that Steve Jobs brought to the world. The loss of one of technology's greatest minds will surely affect us all in ways that we will never know. If you use a computer screen, a keyboard, a mouse, surf the internet, read email, listen to an iPod, have ever seen a Pixar movie (such as Toy Story, Finding Nemo, or Cars) or use a touchscreen smartphone, you can thank Steve. If you have not seen Steve Jobs famous commencement speech at Stanford University in 2005, here it is. It is very much worth watching. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UF8uR6Z6KLc]Steve Jobs' 2005 Stanford Commencement Address - YouTube[/ame] And this article in the LA times is just one of thousands of items written about Steve in the last couple of weeks. http://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-steve-jobs-obit-20111006,0,7210103.story Even Bill Gates and President Obama paid tribute to this man. I was surprised that there seemed to be no threads on this forum mentioning his death. Thanks for reading this, and, Thank you, Steve.

Steve Neal's wife Ann called me today to advise that Steve is in the hospital in ICU with a heart attack. Evidently, he had four stints put in and is doing well. I hope to get by to see him tomorrow and will be able to give a better update. RandyA

So my brother, Steve, and I were driving around in the country and we came upon one of those hills that at the right speed make your tummy feel funny as you go over the crest and Steve smiles... so we turn around , go back to try it again and all of a sudden he giggles... now if you know Steve... well, anyway he turns it loose and we are really getting up a head of steam and I'm thinkin' of asking him about the turn right after the peak when he starts giggling again... I knew to cinch up my seat belt. As we reached the crest we went up... and up... with the road turning off to the right, we both rather knew that this was different. The hood was pointing to a big green thing that finally registered and my right foot tromped onto the imaginary passenger brake pedal. Steve, still staring ahead calmly said, "This will probably really mess up the paint job.", and giggled. http://www.bergall.org/temp/venture/upatree.jpg

This morning my friend Steve and his wife Becky were leaving SoCal on a trip to Texas. There was a light misty drizzle and doing 35 on a long sweeper right hand turn their front tire hit an oily spot and they crashed severely injuring both of them. Steve has 4 broken ribs and Becky is in ICU on life support with numerous broken bones and trauma. Please say a prayer for these two and help them make it back to health again! Prayer is a powerful tool! Thank you! Brian BigDawg

Made it home from Steve Wagner's M/D. Steve is a very gracious host and I thank him for hosting this event, looking forward to going back again. But, dont take a 1st Gen that needs a little work, poor Venture N Dixie was made to feel like the red headed stepchild the whole time he was there, Steve gave him the VentureRider warm welcome, told him if the dumpster was still there he wouldnt have to trailer his bike back home, he could just toss it in the dumpster........poor guy, at least it wasnt me being picked on, thanks Venture N Dixie for being such a great sport in taking all the flak you took from each and every one of us, you have to know that's what it takes to make newbies feel loved here at VR. On the other hand met some new faces and some old faces too. Again we only had that one 1st Gen and we showed it plenty of love by stripping it partway down and fixing, or at least trying to fix a leaky carb, and did get it carb tuned thanks to RandyR. Randy thanks for all the cold beverages. Here are a few pics of all the fun we had with the 1st Genner!

well as some know on here i go up and do some work at the homeless shelter. i handed out hats and gloves today with the other staff members there. i did not stay for dinner. but here is how my day ended i met a nice gentleman by the name of steve olson. he is veteran from the vietnam war. he is homeless. well i been talking to steve for a long time. and got to know him as much as he was willing to share with me. he tould me how he got divorced and hard times fell on him. he left his only child behind when she was 17. he never made any type of contact with her since then. he said he,s to ashamed. so i asked him what her name was? i was surprised he told me. well last night i took a chance and looked on face book for a karen olson from dayton Ohio area i found 3 and then i sent out a message to the 3 of them asking if i may ask if they have a dad named steve? well i got an answer from a nice woman in her mid 30,s that said yes she did have a father by that name. but thinks he passed away? as she has not seen or heard from him in years. i said this might shock you but i think i know where your father is? and i went on to describe him. she was all excited and asked if he was ok? i said yes as much as i can tell hes ok. he stops in at the homeless shelter every night here. she said she realy would like to see him. so she is headed up here friday. and asked if we can make sure he does not know. and that he stays in the area. i think steve is finaly going to go home.

It's an 88 Venture. Owner is Trader. Bought it from somebody in Chicago this year. Ran like crap when he bought it. Smelled rich, but plugs don't show it. Wouldn't idle without the choke on. Thought to do a carb tune on it yesterday. Found #2 cylinder wasn't firing. Cleaned the carbs with spray cleaner and a bit of air. Eventually got # 2 to fire. Still ran like crap. Tried to do a carb tune. ( I have a homemade one that has 1 vacuum gauge with 4 shut-offs that works just fine when ever I used it before and tests out just fine right now). Got no vacuum on # 2 or # 1 cylinders. Could get vacuum to show on 3 and 4 but the screws had to be turned to their max. Tried adjusting the throttle cables, worked better but didn't do anything for vacuum. Checked for leaks in the manifold boots, around the intake, around the airbox, and anywhere else that might be of interest. Called Squidley out of bed and found out what Lonna was up to,,, and it wasn't making cheesecake, so we talked instead,,,, thanks Lonna. Went out and convinced Steve (Trader) that it was time to get a compression tester. I bought it, he paid for it and then left it here???????? Compression tested to 180 on all four cylinders. engine was warm, not hot. Switched the vacuum lines form side to side to make sure things worked right. Expected to see #3 and #4 drop in vacuum, but 1 and 2 still didn't have any vacuum. Far as that goes, they seemed to maybe even have pressure because the needle seemed to keep wanting to go past the stop post. Set the screws to where I thought they would be most beneficial, (no vacuum showing anywhere) put it all back together, fixed the battery lead and put the tools away. End result: garage is cleaned up, bike runs without choke but still smells rich and idle screw is turned into the limit, Steve is on his way home and hasn't come back yet. I am now the proud owner of a brand new compression tester. AND WE NOW KNOW THAT 1ST GENS DON'T REALLY NEED VACUUM TO RUN! Now the big question,,,,,,,,,,,WHY???????
