As you know' I'm not much of a writer; but I sure do read alot on the site. Any way I wanted to get the new stebel horn, as there as so many people who decide that they want to share the same blacktop as me so often. Well I did not want to wait to order one, so I went to the local harbor freight and bought a "BAD BOY" horn. HOLY s@#%, that sucker is loud! It was a simple add on and it looks exactly like the stebel horn. I'm not sure if the stebel is louder but I really don't think that I need it. Btw I used the little bracket off the original horn to install the new one. I simply enlarge the lower hole and mounted the horn sideways and used the upper hole to mount the relay. I also was able to get the horn at the on line add price of $34.99.

I was tooling down the road the other day and the vulchures were having lunch in the middle of the road. I though I would give a toot so they might dispirse BEFORE I got there. My stebel sort of made this squeaky sound and after maybe 3-5 seconds it finnaly started to sound like it use to. I tried it again a couple times today and same sort of deal. Any ideas? Do I maybe need a small shot of WD 40 in the intake of the horn so the compressor picks it up? I hate to think I'm gonna have to replace it.

http://venturerider.org/forum/picture.php?albumid=1039&pictureid=6985I mounted my Stebel in front, I made a bracket from scrap that mounts above ( I slid it behind) my driving light bracket. I did run a clear hose on it and will in the future find some chrome plumbing and bend it up and run it into the fairing to keep dirt and moisture out of the horn. http://venturerider.org/forum/picture.php?albumid=1039&pictureid=6986 http://venturerider.org/forum/picture.php?albumid=1039&pictureid=6984

Looking to see if Stebel has a distributor in Canada. A location I had purchased mine from before no longer lists it on their product page. Went to Stebel's home page and the banner says "we are now back in business". http://www.stebel.it/stebel2012/default.asp Considering replacing the stock horn in the left lower fairing. One question ... is there room for a Stebel Nautilus (or Wolo Bad Boy) ? Second question... how loud will it be considering it is inside the lower? Better place to mount it? (off engine guard above and to the right of the toe shifter was a consideration)

I had my Stebel horn mounted on the right side in the stock location for over a year. Now that I have a sidecar, I would like my sons hearing to stay better than mine, so I removed the horn. Has anyone found a good mounting location on the left side of the motorcycle?

Hello Everyone: Forecast in Western Nebraska today is calling for 40 degrees and some light snow possible. Now that the Holidays are over, I have the urge to work on my bike some. I have a Carbon One horn bracket/harness and Stebel horn to install as well as a set of Bub pipes. Hoping to get to them this weekend!!!

Has anyone tried mounting a Stebel on the front forks just under the tree to get it facing forward for maximum impact on Cagers

I have put dual Sebel Air hons on my 89 Venture and love them. They really get the attention when you need it. Afew years ago my wife was stopped behind a dump truck when it began backing up. She honked her puny ineffective compact car horn and the truck just kept on coming on up over the hood. There was no one hurt but it sure scared her and our son. I put a Stebel on that car and it solved that problem. Since then I have been replacing the wimpy horns in cars that I buy. I recently bought a 97 Toyota Rav IV and tried to do the same but I can't find the horn. I have looked everywhere that I could think of, put my head under the hood while someone inside honks away til i am near deaf. (the factory horns are useless in traffic but darn loud up close) DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE THE FACTORY HORN IS IN A 97 TOYOTA RAV IV PLEASE? I have bought the Stebel and it looks great in the box. This one surprised me a bit. The Hella disk type horns were actually louder than the Stebel Magnums. http://www.webbikeworld.com/motorcycle-horns/horn-comparison-part-2/

My buddy brought his bike over to me to complete some work. bleed and replace and upgrade clutch, clean and synch carbs, adjust valves and replace valve cover gaskets. install a stebel horn and find out why his 12 v soket is not working. most is done. i need to remove the tank again because I know I forgot to reinstall tovacuum lines on the carb, they may be vent lines. need to find out how to make a bracket for the stebel horn and where the fuse is for the accersory plug. his is the 99 venture. First off the bike feel considerably heavier.Seems to have a slight bit more grunt but doesnt pull like my 96 tc. I really enjoyed the radio system and decided that i do not like the handle bar risers. Great arm position until it was time for a u turn and my elbow kept jabbing me in the tummy. had to make it llike an unexperience K turner.

I installed a Stebel air horn last year and worked fine up until last November. All of a sudden, it quit working. It will work if I direct connect it to the battery to test it. Rechecked connections and replaced air horn relay. Still nothing when I hit the horn button. The front horn still works. Any suggestions?

Hi fellow riders. I just installed the Stebel horn in place of the stock horn on the lower right side of my 07 RSV. I used Carbon One's bracket and it works fine. The chrome plastic cover does touch the clutch housing and the exhaust shield. I have not taken it out for a ride yet, was wondering if anyone has had any melting on the chrome plastic cover with this installation. Thanks in advance for your replies.

Has anyone gone with the black Stebel Nautilus and mounted it as the second horn under the front fairing, and would it accomplish the same thing? My OEM is already chrome so buying one of the Stebel chromes, and mounting it on the right side would only get me a louder horn...not add to the bling... The blacks Stebels have a better price, and wonder if anyone has gone that direction and the result...??

Cagers just don't LOOK, and especially at this time of year when biking season is just beginning. Not only that but it seems cagers are getting more and more "lax" at having any consideration at all of others. They ride their brakes for no reason, go slow in the passing lane, run red lights, turn left in front of you, make right hand turns on a red without stopping first.... the list is endless. One of the other things they do is change lanes without signalling or looking. I am SO GLAD I installed my Stebel Air horn!!! Took the day off yesterday to do some riding as the weatherman blessed us with a nice warm sunny day amidst a lot of cool, rainy ones. TWICE I had to BLAST the Stebel at cagers attempting to change into my lane without realizing I was there. No signalling, no looking over their right shoulder ..... GGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR what's wrong with people these days??? There are more and more bikers on the road every year yet peoples driving habits seem to be getting worse and worse ... especially here in "Hongcouver"! OK.... I'm done venting now.

I wanted to get a louder horn for my RSV and didn't have the extra cash to swing for a Stebel. I had read a few comments on here that the Bad Boy's were quiet a bit louder than the stock horn, but not quiet as loud as the Stebel. I got my Bad Boy today and hooked it up. Got all excited and hit the button and no where near as loud as the stock horn. I'm very disappointed, I could have used that money on something else for the bike.

Has anyone tried out these horns? I have been looking at the Stebel Magnum and seen these. They look like they would have a better fit in the stock location. Sound level is advertised to be the same as the Magnums. I have read the posts about the Magnums sticking out farther but not being a problem, but I think these may work better. Any imput from others that have these particular horns (TM80) would be appreciated.

Back in July I bought a chrome Stebel air horn from Hornblasters.com. I also bought the Carbon One wiring harness and mounting bracket. Last weekend I finally got around to install the horn but the horn I received was the Nova Chrome version. This horn has a chromed plastic cover that looks great but because of the cover it's a little larger. Needless to say it doesn't fit in the space where the factory horn goes without some modification. The first thing I had to do was add a spacer (1/4") between the mount on the back of the horn and the Carbon One mounting bracket. Then I had to trim some of the plastic cover from the upper right side of the compressor so the horn wouldn't touch the engine. I used a dremel tool . Lastly I had to change the clips on the wiring harness that go the the horn. This horn has the electrical connections coming out of the bottom of the compressor. I changed the wiring harness connectors from straight to 90 degree other wise the wires would have touched the pipes. Moral to the story, when you by parts online make sure you get what you thought you ordered. Also, if you are going to add a Stebel horn make sure you don't get the Nova version.

Question for those of you out there that have installed the Stebel Air Horn. Got mine installed today, and its a pretty tight fit. The upper left edge of the plastic "chrome" is practically touching the exhaust pipe. I realize this is the shiny cover and not the actual pipe, but it does get hot. Was wondering if any of you have had trouble with the plastic chrome melting? Also, in case you were wondering... the "SuperChrome" version of the Stebel is actually just shinier chromed plastic. Looks nice, but still not really chrome. Not exactly what I'd expect for $140. Thought I'd throw that out there for the benefit of others... Thanks in advance for your thoughts on the pipes/horn cover. Bob

We just got back from a 12-day, 5,000 mile trip from Utah to Canada down the PCH and back to Utah. Everything about the trip was completely awesome - except for the rain we experienced in Canada. Oh my gosh! We were rained on for about 10 hours (500+ miles), and that just drowned my Stebel Nautilus horn. So, this evening while researching another Stebel replacement, I discovered an all black one called the NAUTILUS COMPACT TUNING BLACK. This looks like an improved finish over the poor-quality plastic chrome coating which my current Nautilus has. From a few reviews I have found, the Compact Tuning version might also be a little louder. My question is ..., does anyone have experience with (specifically) the Nautilus Compact Tuning model? Also, I am looking for the best price to find one of these. The vendor where I purchased my Stebel Nautilus, doesn't appear to carry their horns anymore. I am aware that there are many similar and less expensive alternatives to the Stebel brand horns and that they are easy to find at local auto parts stores, etc. However, I am still looking for info on this specific horn is anyone can offer me any personal eperience reviews or recommendations on where to find a Stebel Nautilus Compact Tuning Black model. Thanks guys & Be Safe! Pete.

After some prodding by fellow members I'm offering my Stebel air horn bracket for those who wish to have one. It's made from 1/8" stainless steel and nicely polished. Pics below of it on the air horn and in the mounted position. It replaces the stock horn on the right side of the bike, and tucks in very good as well. The horn doesn't stick out beyond the exhaust pipes because of that. Price of the bracket is $15 which will include shipping priority mail. Payments can be made by PayPal at lskeels@wowway or use the same address to get my home address if sending a money order. Larry
