It is time to replace my rear tire. AS I have been looking around and planning to purchase a Metzler, I noticed there is a "stage 1" upgrade for RSV that changes the size of the tire to a Metzler 180/70hr-15. It states this goes on the same rim..... Is this true? Has anyone actually done this?? If you have done this does it make any difference good or bad? Any input would be greatly appreciated here as the tire needs to be replaced very soon. Thanks JM

Tonight I was lucky enough to be the emcee for a variety show put on by the students in our high school orchestra. Varied levels of skill and talent were on display in instrumental music, singing , and dancing. What struck me was not just the talent and courage on display (one young lady froze up mid-song and left the stage in tears, but came back 3 acts later and did her whole song) but the level of support and courtesy the kids showed each other. No heckling the lesser talents, no jeering at the mistakes and recoveries, just honest appreciation and applause for what it takes to get up there on the stage and lay it on the line. It was humbling; and gives one a glimmer of hope for our future. They even laughed at some of my jokes!

I was at a long on ramp entering the freeway. A friend was directly behind me and the road ahead was clear. So I just couldn't resist and I got on it. I heard his pipes open up so I new he was on it to. When we talked later He said he was going to blow by me but it turned out he was loosing ground instead. Thing is I didn't have the throttle cranked all the way. One or two of my horses were still in the stable in reserve. His bike is an 09 Ultra Classic. He spent a considerable amount of money for a 103 stage 2 kit plus a new ignition computer, Screamin' Eagle mufflers and extra dyno time. In his defense though I have put a lot of extra chrome on my RSV. And everybody knows chrome makes them faster I just didn't realize how much until now. Mike

NOT REALLY NOTICING MUCH CHANGE FROM STAGE 2 TO 3 WITH THE ROADKINGS I TOOK THE STEPS OF OPENING THE OUTLET END BY PUNCHING 4 HOLES INTO THE METAL SURROUNDING THE INNER BAFFLE. SIMILAR TO DRILLING THE INLET END.; USED A POINTED TAPERED TOOL AND DROVE IT IN UNTIL THE HOLE WAS ABOUT 3/8 OR SO IN DIAMETER. TOOK ALL OF 1 MINUTE PER SIDE NOW SOUNDS MUCH BETTER AT ALL SPEEDS, LIKE A GROWL BUT STILL NOT AFTERMARKET LOUD..

Don!!......Its nice to be Loved by You and Your Venturerider Family First of all... Don .... You have reached a new stage in your life....... The Old Fart Stage. ...... I hope to God your diapers held after saying all those nice things about me and of course they are all true, I wont deny it The 2nd Gen still looks like a Harley fitted with lazy boy cushions and It took me at little longer to actually reach the Old Fart Stage and with you folks The Trailer , I still wont back down what I said From my post in 2007 The only reason I purchase the Trailer, It looks pretty sharp behind the scoot and he wouldnt sell it separate Now that you are an Old Fart:rotfl:Your primary trailer usage is storing plenty of Viagra and Depends in it The GPS... I wont back down on it either.. A useless piece of device..No adventure at all ... Now that you are an OLD Fart ...You will use it to find the nearest Washroom quickly I Don Oh!! :doh:By the way, If I didnt purchase this 2nd Gen, Your site would have died from BOREDOM!!!

On Long Island we have a place called Jones Beach theater where lots of concerts are held (Last night I saw the Alman Brothers and they Sucked!). Well a few times a year my Pipeband gets to play by invitation in the VIP and common area. Just a little entertainment to fill and we get the benefit of seeing the show. Well 2 weeks ago we did this at a Police concert and one of Mr Stewarts reps was there checking out the venue. First question was "Are they gonna be here that night?". We could be! Well we are. It was already set to do the same as always but now we are to be on stage when Rod comes out and play just before he comes on stage!!! How cool is that. Not bad for a little Pipe band!!! Hi Guys and Gals, I have recently purchased some R/K mufflers. They look almost like the Ventures. However, although I have seen several people talking about modifying them, i'm not quite sure what they mean about stage 1,2,3,&4 modifications. I do better with pictures than words. On the mufflers I got, I am able to look directly through the center and see what is on the other side. There are baffles in them that I can see, but I can still look through the center of them. My question is how do I know what stage they are, and what can I do to modify them for more sound. Thanks, Big Mike:15_8_211[1]:

A lot of tire talk lately but have not heard anything about rear tires. I was wondering if anyone has put a 170/80/15 or 180/70/15 on. I'm interested but the clearance is so close to driveshaft on stock size I wonder how they will fit? I have read a number of people have installed the 170's and more interesting Metzler shows the stage 1 upgrade for the RSV to the 180's. My main interest to change is to get whitewalls other then Dunlop 404's. They claim better mileage, smoother ride and handling.
