Hey everyone... Feedback on intercoms solved!!! Well, at least my issue. I have headsets that clip on to the helmet. There are three wires that need to be reconnected when moving from one helmet to another. They only fit one way... or so it seemed. I was getting a ear shattering feedback loop with intercoms. Happened more than once. And what I discovered was that the microphone cable from the connector can easily get connected to a speaker input! That's the issue!! No wonder I was getting feedback- check to see that you're not connecting your mic DIRECTLY TO THE POWERED SPEAKER CONNECTIONS! That'll do it every time. There follow your mic connection to the clip with the connecting wires. I'm pretty familiar with cables and fancy myself a pretty good troubleshooter, but there's something about the way that the cables are coming off of that connector with the mic attached that makes it easy to connect to the wrong spot. After you get it right. Mark the mic connectors with colored tape. Problem solved! I have a half-helmet with the speakers in the removable curtain. Removing them would cause this connection problem every time! Not any more!!!

Has anyone tried these type brake pads on their Venture?? They're ceramic. One of my friends has a Goldwing and he tried them and said the squeal. Anyone else had similar experience?? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Yamaha-XVZ-1300-Royal-Star-Venture-99-09-Brake-Pads-/280513806134?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item414fecff36

My front right brake has recently begun to squeal quite loudly when I use it. The pads aren't that old. I can't recall what manufacture they are but they were a quality item recommended by a trustworthy wrench at the time of a tire purchase. The rotor looks ok but I have yet to get a measurement of its thickness. Perhaps tomorrow. Assuming the thickness is ok, I am thinking of swapping inboard and outboard pads one for the other on that side. Suggestions? Thanks, Brian H.

I have a pair of J&M headsets (584s I think). Often times, when I plug in the lower cable, and turn the ignition switch to ON, I get a loud SQUEAL through the IC (no...it's not the wife)! Sometimes I get the squeal if my wife disconnects her lower before I turn the bike off. When cruising, I have to turn the IC up to > 15 in order to hear my wife (don't say it). Three questions: 1) Has / is anyone else expperiencing this annoying squeal? 2) What kinds of things should I check? Could it be an issue with the radio? 3) When I turn up the IC loud enough so I can hear my wife, I hear what appears to be alternator noise. Is this "normal"? Most times, the IC volume has to be 18 in order to be able to have a conversation. Any help / suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The plug broke off inside the auxillary input on the 2007 RSV. Can't get to it from the front. Will I have to take off fairing to get at it from the back? Will I be able to get it out from the back or not be able to use ? Also have a squeal in the sound system when only the front headset is plugged in. Sometimes it will squeal all the time sometimes only when you go over a bump. When the wife plugs in in never squeals. Dealer said it was mic feedback but it doesn't go away when I cover up the mic. Thanks

I posted this before...tried a couple things..problem still exists. First of all, it ain't the woman on the back coz I've had 3 different ones and I really can't believe they all squeal exactly the same and at exactly the same time! Here's the problem... when doing a tight right curve such as one of those you'd find in a freeway on/off ramp at a good clip (around 100 km/h), I get this squealing/whining sound. It only appears under this condition and it seems that if I'm not leaning quite enough or leaning too far, it goes away. In other words, while making the corner, I change the lean angle of the bike and the squeal goes away...put the lean angle back to what it was and there's the squeal again. This doesn't happen in a left curve. It's also less obvious without a passenger (but still exists). It also doesn't happen doing the same curve at a slower speed. Here's what I've done... changed both front and rear wheel bearings. Changed rear rotor. Cleaned and re-greased rear wheel. All internal components in rear wheel appear in good shape. Anyone experience this and/or have any clue what might be causing this? Thanks.

I have a 06 RSTD, with 500 miles on it. I have noticed the front brakes squeal alot. I thought I might have sand in them, so the last time I cleaned the bike, I sprayed water up into the pads. No soap or cleaners, just water. Still squealing. Is this common, or do I have a problem the dealer needs to look into? BTW, I am having the 600 mile break in service done next week.
