A guy wants to trade either a 2003 Harley Sportster 1200 Anniversary with 16000 miles or a 2009 V-star 950 with 2000 miles for my 91 Trans Am. I am leaning towards the V-star if we made the trade. Seems to be worth more. Any thoughts?

Just listed my Venture in the classifieds. I think I am giving up touring.. since I was sick in the hospital two years ago I have had tons more trouble with my sinuses and pollen and junk in the air affect me much more, I often find myself with light head aches needing to take sinus meds, and with or with out the meds I am often light headed. I just don't feel safe taking long trips on bike anymore. I also have my Sportster listed, but if I sell the Venture I will probably keep the Sportster for around town and short trips. At this point I plan on switching to a sports car of some sort.

I replaced my tires with new E3's. The rear was almost shot so discarded it but I kept the front coz there's still lots of wear left. It's a Bridgestone Spitfire II. Now, my son has an '03 Sportster 1200 and his rear tire is shot. Turns out my front tire is the same size as his rear tire. The question is, can a guy put a front tire on the rear? ... and if so, should I change the rotation direction?

I'm still trying to get used to my "new" ride (only had it for three weeks), and I'm a little concerned about how the bike behaves "at speed" on the superslab. Just putting around the back roads and city streets the bike is fine, but when I'm out on the superslab the bike is all over the place and it gets worse when the wind is blowing, or when I get blasted by another vehicle's slip stream. What freaks me out is this bike gets blown around more than my Harley Sportster, and the Sportster is 200 pounds lighter than the Venture. Another thing I've noticed is the bike is real sensitive to steering inputs (leaning into turns). The only way I can think of to describe this is to say the bike is 'twitchy,' almost like the center of gravity is off (higher than it should be ?). At first I thought the tire pressures were too low, but both front and rear are at 32 psi as per the label in the travel trunk. I realize that with the fairing, wind shield and such this bike has more "sail area," but this behavior is real scary, and I have a feeling it will get worse once I have a passenger onboard. Is this an inherent charistaric of the breed, am I just too light for this bike (I tip the scales at 140# or so) or is there something seriously wrong? TIA... Y'All Ride Safe....

Buzman sent me this pic that his wife found of my 86 VR and my kids. Thought I would share. Should have said this was an old pic. He rides a sportster now and she rides a Yam 650 twin.

Well, as of a few minutes ago, Jan is taking off to spend a little more than a week in the Big Apple! Last year work took by to NYC and Jan was able to go with me. We had a blast visiting sites, going to a play and seeing her brother and sister-in-law that live there. Jan managed to do a little shopping etc while I worked. For Christmas, Jan asked to go again and visit and hopes to be able to take in as many plays as she can. So now, what to do with myself. Maybe I'll get her engine guard installed on her sportster that she doesn't know about (the engine guard, not the sportster). Think, think, think..... Dave

Hi Folks, I have a real problem. My husband is a Harley guy. He never wanted me to buy my VStar from the beginning. Now because he hangs out with his Harley friends he wants me to get rid of my VStar which I really love. He wants me to get a Sportster, which I really do not care for. I do not think this is fair to me, when I love my VStar. Any suggestions would be appreciated. highwaypeg:crying:
