It was probably about a year ago that I picked up a used trunk spoiler. I think I'm going to finally install it and have a question for any of you that have added the Yamaha spoiler to your trunks. It came with rubber washers and flat washers. Does the rubber washer go on top of the trunk or do both go inside?

Here's my dilemna...I purchased the Trunk spoiler for my 08 RSV (haven't installed it). The general feedback here is that the lights in the spoiler aren't all that bright. Then the thought hits me....LEDs! Has anyone done a mod to the spoiler that replaces the standard lights in the spoiler with some "super brite" LEDs? I'm willing spend a little $$ to get a flexible bright RED LED strip and work through the installation process. What kinds of things should I consider when I start down this path? Are the lights both running lights and brakes? Are there any special considerations for using LEDs in a dual-intensity situation like this? Or am I all wet here? Certainly don't want to lay down track if someone has already blazed a trail here!

I have 3 questions. Is there a way to make my back blinkers stay on all the time like the front blinkers do. I also have a lighted spoiler on my trunk. I would like to know if there is a way to make that blink, with my blinkers. Also is there a way to make led light in the spoiler and the brake light flash when I apply the brake. Any help would be appreciated. Ironhead

I'm really amazed at the amount of valuable information and suggestions that I have read on this forum within just this year. I keep itemized notes of every important item that I may want to reference in the future. I truly thank all of you members for this! And then to top it off, my trunk spoiler had a section of lights which weren't working and from a previous thread, "Andrew of ablumny," had noted that a friend of his had repaired his. I contacted Andrew and he said to send it out to him. I did that and he got it repaired beautifully and sent it back to me. I say Thank You, Thank You, and I feel eternally indebted for this act of kindness and hope he is repaid many times from either my help or others! This made my day! Owen.

About 1/3 of the lights are out in the trunk rear spoiler on my 04 midnight. Anyone know were I can order the diode strip without having to replace the whole thing?

I created this disaster myself, since I removed the lighted spoiler from the trunk, yesterday, to see if I could determine why 3 of the lights, in the strip, were not working. I couldn't see a way to repair the problem, so I put it back on, using loctite on the screws. After returning from a short ride today, of an hour or so, I saw the light strip dangling from the wires and the spoiler was gone. We back tracked the route with the car right away, but never found it. I loved the looks with that spoiler on the trunk, now it looks naked! I now need to get another one. If any of you know of any place that I can buy one, please let me know. The color is like Plum or purple, but what ever color that is available, I'm sure it can be painted. I need your help! Thanks, Owen.

I finally got a chrome luggage rack for my 07 Venture. Before I start drilling holes I figure I should ask for any tips. Is there a trick to figuring out where to position it? In the future, I thought I may get the lighted spoiler that Yamaha sells. I have seen somewhere on this site that you can have both if wanted. I don't want to position the rack in the wrong place as to rule out the spoiler in the future. Do any of you have any tips? I plan to start drilling the holes tomorrow morning. Thanks in advance, craigr

Hey guys, I need more light on the back of the Venture. Do they make a spoiler with a light on it and how hard is it to install. I'd like to stiffen-up that flimsy trunk lid while I'm at it. I love the bike, it just doesn't put out enough light for safety's sake. Eddie

Hey guys, help me out here if I've missed something, but why is it I've seen in the Yamaha catalog rear LED spoilers already painted for EVERY color they are EXCEPT the Black Cherry?!!!!! And even in the VOTE FOR FAVORITE COLOR forum, you didn't even mention BLACK CHERRY!! Whats up? Does people NOT reconize the 2006 Black Cherry?!! Is there a pre-painted spoiler somewhere out there? Help! mid life crisis
