Can't seem to find the specs for the brace bolts eitehr in the owners or the shop manual. I am replacing mine with a SuperBrace (Thanks to Golf&Venture) & I see on various posts 14 - 15 ft Lbs is assumed so I've set mine to that. Just want to make sure it's correct.

Good Day: I have an '07 Venture and was searching for the thickness specs of the brake rotors. (I found the specs for the 96-'01 Royal Stars, but not specific to the Venture.) I plan on replacing my front tire this weekend, and if I had to replace the rotors, I would do so at the same time. I have 19,700 miles on the bike. I already replaced the rear tire and brake pads around 14,000 miles. Thanks!

Anybody here have any experience with rebuilding them? I tore up the spider gears in my 78 this spring. I had bought a new ring and pinion to change the ratio from the 3.25:1 that was in it to go to 3.89:1 so it would be more ideal with the transmission gearing, peak horsepower, and tire size I would be running a while back. Now is a good time to get them in while I was replacing the diff case seeing as how the original one had holes punched through it. But now that I have everything together, I need to set the rotational force on my pinion and carrier bearings. But I don't have a torqometer, and a spanner wrench would also come in handy. Would anybody happen to have either of these and be willing to lend them or help out who lives in the Thorp/Eau Claire/ Chippewa Falls/ Abbotsford , WI. area? Anybody have any tips or hints that I should be aware of? Anybody have the proper torque specs? I've found several places on the net with them, but they vary a bit from one to the other. One says to set the preload on the pinion to 22-32 inch lbs., which definitely feels way to tight. I just don't want to go through all the money and trouble just to have the thing melt down or explode on me. Thanks for any assistance, Bill

I need to replace my mufflers and I am considering putting on a set of aftermarkets that a friend is giving me. I was told at one time someone posted specs of a pipe to make for between the collector and an aftermarket muffler. Specs would consist of pipe size (diameter), length, location of bend, and degree of bend. Does anyone have these specs or can they direct me where to find them at? Also, are there any ideas of how to cover this pipe to make it look nice such as chroming it, heat paint, powder coat, etc.? And, is there by chance any way to get this pipe already fabricated and chromed? Thanks for your help.

Well since I got my 05 RSV I hit reserve and then fuel up and can not get more than 4 to 4 1/2 gal in it? The specs say > Fuel Capacity (gal/l) 6 / 23 Fuel Capacity Reserve (gal/l) 1 / 3.5 If the specs are right then why do I run out & need reserve at 4 gal? The fuel light comes on in 1 to 2 miles after turning to reserve. Do I really have 2 gal left? When I fill the tank I will sit on bike and hold it up right and wiggle the bike and fill it as full as I can get and still after 4 to 4 1/4 gal I am hitting reserve again. Any suggestions?

Put on new pipes and bike was back firing, had a friend said he new how to fix it, didn't work. Does anyone know how many turns the pilot jets should be turned out to be close to factory specs. Like to have it close so it doesn't blow up before I can get it in to the shop. Thanks

I signed up over on yamaha-motor.com in the "My Star" section. When I put my 99 under the my vehicle section it came up with some interesting documents. One of them what the attached Service Spec. pdf. file. I thought it had some interesting information in it so I thought I'd post it. I think it will be a handy guide for some torquing specs without having to page through the manual. It also has the plug number, some fluid type and capacity info etc. It covers the RSV and the RSTD.
