It happened last nite just before going to bed, Charlene had made a nice big pot of homemade chicken noodle soup, and wanted me to put it downstairs in the fridge. So I am heading downstairs holding on to the pot with both hands, a thought runs through my mind that this would make a really big mess if I was to drop it or fall while going down, I make it to the landing after navigating the first set of steps ok, make the turn to the second set of steps, everthing is okay until I hit the second step from the top and my heal hits the edge of the step, slips off and next thing I know I am bouncing my but off of the next four steps till I hit the closed door at the bottom of the stairway. I still have the pot of soup in one hand, the lid is on the floor, there is soup about 4 feet up the wall, soup all over me, and 95% of it on the floor by the door. Charlene was in bed until she heard me bouncing my butt off the steps. I guess its sorta like when riding a mc, you go where you look, in this case is you do what you think might happen. I now am having a hard time getting comfortable sitting and laying down, every time I moved last night I woke up in agony, and its hard to get comfortable while sitting. Thank goodness I have meds that will help with that. I guess I am lucky I didnt break anything besides my pride when I fell, I aint getting any younger.

Wedding is now History. Our oldest daughter got married yesterday. The Story is a redneck story. Daughter is now married to her ex husbands wife's ex. Her ex husband got married last month to husbands ex girlfriend that he has 3 kids with. Now we have a new son-in-law and 3 step grandchildren. Front arch was a deer feeder. Targets and leaves 7mm mag casings all part of the decor. Menu was Brown Beans, Cornbread, Vegetable Soup, Chili, and Potato Soup. Wedding Cake, pumpkin pie and apple pie. Sweet tea lemonade and coffee. Frogman took his skinning knife in case of a fight.

I just noticed the sun has once again slipped between the south corridor of trees on the property shooting a narrow path of sunlight across the prairie grass, a sure sigh of coming color changes. The apples are ripening, although few, I guess I'll leave them for the deer. I'm not ready for the fuel oil bill although it appears we'll pay less this year ($4.20gal last Jan). Time to change oil in the car and truck, tune up the plow, move all the "yard art" out of the way. Maybe spend the rest of the fall doing "color rides" on the bike. Make some thick hardy soup.......and CHILI ! Maybe sign up for NETFLEX, enjoy the new 55in flatscreen/surround sound w/ lotsa popcorn. Wait for the sun to slide back to a more acceptable arc above the peak of the house.... OH WHY OH WHY DO I LIVE IN MINNESOTA ?,,,,,,,,maybe it's the air....... Renne
