Hey all, Just wanted to let you all in what looks to be a great product for Gen2 audio. It's called the VentureMP3 and it is on sale now till Oct 11, 2011. What it does is take the place of the CD Changer and is much smaller. With a 4GB SD card, it allows you to store and control up to 594 MP3 songs. It is controlled your standard audio head on the left handlebar and works just like the CD Changer, but now instead of 6 CD's you'll now have 6 folders, which each can contain up to 99 songs. Their web site is: http://www.venturemp3.com/ Mike

A while back there was a thread about a MP3 player that interfaced with the radio and was controlled by the radio controls. Although I was hesitant because of a lack of info I took advantage of the sale that was going on and ordered one. I installed it today and thought I would try to get some more info out about it. Here is a video I made of it operating. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aj3bAjEdPOc]Venture MP3 install - YouTube[/ame] Here are a couple of pictures. http://i932.photobucket.com/albums/ad166/midnightventure/CIMG1418.jpg http://i932.photobucket.com/albums/ad166/midnightventure/CIMG1414.jpg Even though I had a cold I couldn't resist going for a ride and trying it out. Rode about 35 miles on some rough paved roads and about a mile on gravel. It worked perfect on the pavement but it did quit and I had to cycle through AUX,FM1,FM2 and back to CD and it took right off were it left off. So far I am satisfied with it but I wish that I had felt better so I could have rode 100 miles. The directions state to load the songs for the first CD directly to the SD card and then create 5 more folders called CD02 through CD06. You can load 99 songs to each folder. Total of 594 songs. Also it says to make sure there are no odd symbols like ')in the titles. I had already gone through and fixed all my titles and ended up with 2 1/2 SD cards full. It plays MP3 and WMA. If you pop one SD card out and put nin another it starts at the same disc and song number it was on before. Long pushes on the switch changes Cds (folders) and quick pushs change songs. It creates CD01 soon as it fires up.

Anybody heard of that famous Willy Nelson song On the Side of the Road Again? :-(

Don just got a Zumo 660 and I downloaded music to it because it said I could. Then the GPS wouldn't stay on. Everytime I would turn it on to see if the music was ok, it would turn itself off in 5 seconds. Frustrating!! So then I deleted all but 2 songs and now it stays on and plays those 2 songs. I couldn't figure out why I couldn't download more songs. I finally downloaded the manual to my computer (since NOTHING comes with a manual anymore). It MENTIONS a 4 GB micro SD card. ???? So why in the world does it NOT come with one??? Just another dang accessory you have to buy I guess. So now my question is: Can I just go to Wal Mart or Radio Shack and buy a "card" or does it have to be the one from Garmin, which by the way costs $33 (plus shipping I am sure) and says takes 2-3 weeks before it will ship? Any ideas or suggestions? Patti

With all the white stuff flying around here, I thought I would take this opprotunity to save some of my LP albums I collected in the 60s and 70s to my computer. These records have been in storage for 30 years. This is good stuff. Been looking forward to this for quite some time now because I have songs by artists you don't ever hear any more. Drug out my old player, found some adapters and the software, ready to begin..... For some strange reason none of those songs sound quite as good as I remember them sounding. And I realized why there are a few artists you never hear any more. Really disapointing. A few of the songs brought back great memories, but the rest.......

I have an IPOD with a number of songs on it and the wife has the Shuffle with fewer songs on this. She would like to get a few songs off my IPOD to her Shuffle but I'm not sure if or how this can be done. Can I open my i tunes and unclick all of the songs then let her choose the ones she wants then hook hers to sync?

After reading through the post on the online station, it gave me some really good suggestions for songs to download to my MP3. Then I thought it would be a great thread. Be specific on the song name. As you guys recommend them, I'm gonna download the ones I like. Thanks in advance.... Already downloaded lots of CCR, Black Betty, Danger Zone, etc. Keep em coming.

Where do most of you download your songs from? (legally?) Currently using Pirate Bay (UTorrent) is there better one's??????

I've just purchased a Nuvi 780 which has MP3 capabilities. I was just wondering where most of you guys got your MP3 audio from. I have well over 1000 songs in Itunes, but it is my understanding that those files will only work on my IPod. Is that correct. I've tried Limewire, but that stupid thing carries lots of bugs and really slows the puter down as it wants to run all the time. I'm sure there has to be a good place to get the songs I want.

OK, I am not the sharpest tack in the box so someone out there should be able to help me with this. I have the 550 and I know that you can store music on this thing to listen to--I have a 2 gig SD card and can not figure out how to keep my CD's together when I put the songs on the card. I have a 3 disk series of George Jones and want to keep each disk's songs together but when I load the disks on the SD card all the songs load by the song number. All the 01 songs are together then the 02--03 etc. How do I load the disks and keep them as they are on the CD? Is this confusing enough???

Thought some of you might be interested in this. Its posted at "thinkgeeks.com" Looks like a niceclean and portable MO3 solution for the Venture antiquated cassette ? http://www.thinkgeek.com/images/products/front/standalone_or_car_cassette_mp3_player.jpg http://www.thinkgeek.com/images/alt-image-zoom.gifZoom http://www.thinkgeek.com/images/alt-image-more.gifMore Images Will the cassette tape ever die? In between the beloved LP record and the now familiar CD, there was another music media format - the cassette tape. It was very popular during the 80's and one thing that definitely made it standout was that, unlike a LP, you could easily record onto a cassette tape. Before that your recording options were primarily limited to reel-to-reel tape machines, which were usually pretty large and sometimes not so friendly. Being able to record onto cassette tape also lead to the ever popular "mix tape" - which was usually a collection of kick ass songs you'd give to your wannabe girlfriend or someone else you were trying to impress. http://www.thinkgeek.com/images/products/other/standalone_or_car_cassette_mp3_player_embed.jpg This MP3 player is built into a standard cassette tape, letting you use it as either a uniquely old-school-style MP3 player, or with any car cassette or cassette player to play your music. You will have no problems listening to hours of your favorite songs via the built-in SD card slot, and you can easily change to different songs if you have multiple SD Cards. If you are into retro style looks but with a new technology upgrade, this is a MP3 player worth adding to your gear.

Had problems with my Zumo after I "Upgraded" to the new 3.8 Software Version. After about 2 weeks fighting it, contacting Garmin and consulting the Zumo Forum (http://www.zumoforums.com) I finally got it working normal again and I am a happy Camper. The solution was found thru the forum and not Garmin support. I wanted to share with you because I know many use the Zumo and it may keep you from stressing out for 2 weeks like I did on the problem. After Installing the 3.8 Software and adding new songs to my SD card for a total of 650 songs I started having problems. Problem 1: Occasionally I would get a screen saying Updating Bluetooth and would have to shut the Zumo Down and start it back up to get going. Bluetooth would connect to my phone but would disconnect within 30 seconds, I would have to go to the settings and select the phone connection again then it would go thru the cycle again. Problem 2: When turning the Zumo on, it would go thru the bootup screens, etc and when you select view map it would take 6 minutes for the map to display on the screen, the MP3 player would not list the songs on the zumo until after the map was displayed. Solution to Problem 1: Removed the new version 3.0 bluetooth software, downloaded the previous 2.4 version and installed it as per this forum link: http://www.zumoforums.com/index.php?topic=3598.0 Solution to Problem 2: Reorganized my music files into folders with no more than 25 songs in a folder. I originally had all the songs (650) in 1 folder. This is what was causing the delay in displaying the map. This forum link explains the problem and give pointers on how to fix it. http://www.zumoforums.com/index.php?topic=3268.0

Don't kill me, I know the question has been out about songs...they would be helpful, but I need some other guidance. I just bought an MP3 with 4 gig memory, I loaded all the songs I want from my CD's I own but ain't even touched 1 gig. There are alot more songs I want but don't want to buy full CD's at 14 bucks each just to get ONE song. Is there a place to get them that is trust worthy? I thought about getting a card from Wal-Mart, but all they had were Itunes and Napster. And got different reports from my teenage sons on those. Any suggestions?? And if this is a repost from someone else's question, I am sorry. Thank yall :bighug:group hug.

Hi, I was sent this site from a USA riding friend, It is great if you put your cursor on the songs that show on the juke box from the years 1956/57/58/59/60 The music is the real thing,it brings back many thoughts of pulling into a resturant putting in a quater and getting 5 songs, and ordering a soft drink and a hotdog, but the time and the music is much different today, but for anyone who would like to reminise or to just get a taste of the music from the past now is your chance. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do. > mobile http://www.bobforrest.com/JukeBox.htm

Ok, got the Zumo. Installed a 1 gig card. I decided to get Napster since it is MP3 compatible. Had to get Windows Media Player so Napster would move songs to a device. I bought songs on Napster. Tried to synch by following directions. Windows Media Player can "see" my Garmin Zumo and the SD card. NOTHING will transfer to the card -- not even the songs I "paid for". What am I missing? Many thnx, DREBBIN
