Who would of thunk? The other day the LEO's and Humane Society folks removed snakes from an Omaha family home. Not pets by my standards but poisonous ones. So far they have over 30 of them including 18 rattesnakes, 6 cobras, a few vipers and even a mamba. They are still working on identifying several others that they have no idea of what they are. They found tanks all over the house and even in the childrens rooms. So the snakes got removed and he got cited by the Humane Socitety for no permit for non-domestic animals. But the LEO's are looking at him has he has previous charges for terroristic threats and gun violations. Ya gotta wonder about folks sometimes. Guess who ain't a big fan of snakes? Mike

Today has been a bummer all the way around!! Came in for another break. Garage stuff not going well this morning. Warden walked into the bedroom and heard a noise and saw a picture starting to fall off the dresser. Tried to grab it and found herself nose to nose with a 5' blacksnake!!! I hate snakes!! Scared me and I was watching from next room!! Put my welding gloves on and took him outside!! He didn't seem to mind. I didn't care for it. I was looking for gun in headboard of bed when I first saw him. Warden may not have liked that in her new bedroom suite. What makes a blacksnake have the stripes on it? It was a blacksnake but had faint strips showing on it. When he was in dark corner first thought was Copperhead!! Now that we know our hearts are working......

the wife and i were taking a nice leisurely ride on a familiar road - make a left at the intersection - got a decent lean going and the front tire moves out from underneath me about 3-4 inches - i then realize new tar snakes - and about that time it slides again - very unnerving feeling to loose the front tire - wife said she thought we had a flat. i know i've recently seen other threads concerning these snakes - they work well for the DOT but wreak havoc on us bikers.....

I just came back from a nice ride South on State Route 43 in Ohio. We went from Malvern thru Carrollton and down to Amsterdam. There are some really nice twisties in the 47 mile round trip and all were equipped with tar snakes. I happy to report that conditions were such that the snakes were of no consequence to affect riding at all. The temperature was 75 plus and the snakes were all older ( as in not recent) but I couldn't feel them at all. I starting to REALLY like my KUMHO !!

Yesterday was a sad day for the Darksiders. I mounted up my spare wheel yesterday. It came with a Dunlop E3 on it. Im going to run this tire out. But anywho, riding around the last 2 days, Ive noticed tar snakes again. I didn't feel them with the car tire on, but today, I'd go over one and the rear tire felt like it'd try to pass me. Hopefully this tire will be worn out in a couple of months and I'll be back to the darkside. Has anyone else noticed that you don't feel the tar snakes with the car tire on?

I've removed and greased the front and rear suspensions, replaced the front and rear tires, monitor tire and suspension air pressures and my 84 now handles much better. But today it's in the 90's and the tar snakes are "wet". As we turned out of a picnic rest area I drove over a parallel to the road tar snake, for a very brief period it felt like my SO and I were going to go down. None of my other bikes do this. Any one else have this problem?

these pictures were taken on "mother's day" this month. the location is "matqagorda island, texas", just about 40 miles up the road from me. in fact it is only about 3 miles across the bay, from the "warriors wekend", gathering place. YES folks warm weather came early this year, and with it comes the danger of snakes. i have personally seen these guys swimming from island to mainland, although NOT in these large numbers. going to the beach, stay alert, and stay back away from the "dunes". just jt
