Before I start, I have done a bit of seaching this site looking for the problem I am experiencing with my cruise control but have not been successful. Not that I use it much, I am a little anal about things and if it is there, I want it to work as designed. Anyway, my cruise has always functioned until this weekend. My cruise would set and all seemed fine except this time, and several attempts afterwards. It would set but the speed would very slowly decel and after about 7 or so mph, the cruise would simply disconnect; not turn off, just cancel. I am not very spun up on this system and thought I'd ask around first if anyone has experienced this same problem and what they may have done to fix theirs. If anyone has any advise, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks all,

With my car that is. Coming home about 6:30pm. Fairly heavy traffic for a Saturday on GA 400 northbound just after dark. 4 lanes divided, limited access. Doing 75 in a 65 mph zone, I'm in the left lane. motorcycle comes up behind me. I'm just following the car in front and not a lot of open space anywhere. Slowly pass the car in the right lane and there's a small hole, so I flip on my blinker when I see the car in my right hand mirror and slowly start to pull into the right hand lane. Good thing I didn't switch lanes faster, cause mr ina hurry must have goosed it as soon as he saw an inch between me and the car in the right lane. I quickly stopped my lane change as I straddled the line divider. If I'd pulled over quick or not checked my mirrors again, I'd have gotten him.

Seems I now have a '99 pogo stick
wes0778 posted a topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I guess ALL the oil is now out of my rear shock. This is NO FUN!!! A good while back, someone posted a cut-a-way drawing of the shock. Can anyone help me find that post? I'm wondering about drilling into the shock to make a "refill" hole. Yeah I know the oil will just leak back out, but in my case it seems to leak slowly, as I have suspected my shock was dying for almost a year now. I'm just thinking maybe I could add oil before each trip. Circumstances right now are such that a new shock is out of the question. -
Ok, so my 83 Venture started messing up and it seemed like it just might be the battery, but I'm starting to think I was wrong in my initial assesment. It started with the battery voltage meter looking lower than normal, then when I stopped for gas, it would not start back up, turn over slowly then went dark, nothing at all showing up, no fuel pump clicks nothing. I thought maybe a bad connection or the fuse blown but thats not it, anything else it might be? Any help would be appreciated.

A little old man shuffled slowly into an ice cream parlor and pulled himself slowly, painfully, up onto a stool. After catching his breath, he ordered a banana split. The waitress asked kindly, 'Crushed nuts?' 'No,' he replied, 'Arthritis.'

have an 88 royale pita, have done all normal things, cleaned carbs, new battery cables, cleaned starter, fixed oil leaks from stator and p/ucoil wires, had it running good on all 4,then after about 10 minutes tach started going up and down ,neutral light faded out, then it would drop no 2 cyl.then slowly die out.try to start back-up sometimes it will, and sometimes you have to play with all switches, clutch, sidestand, etc.then will start right up and run good for a few more minutes.charges at 13.6-13.8-goes to 13.1 when fan kicks on,it acts like its losing or shorting to ground, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Puchased the Harbor Freight Motorcycle lift, rated at 1500#, today and tried it out with the Carbon One adapter. The url for the lift= http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/Displayitem.taf?itemnumber=2792 I had to pay $75 for the lift but it is worth it. The design is sturdy and the two step release to lower the bike works great - kinda odd because you have to press all the way down on the release lever to get it to lower slowly - normally you would think it would go faster all the way down - or maybe it is just me. Of course the adaptor worked just like everyone has stated before - perfect. The combination allows the task to be a solo adventure with no worries - just go slowly when lifting and allow the bike to stabilize before raising off the floor. I'm a satisfied customer. Jinksy

Well, I rode about 120 miles yesterday. Longest trip so far on the 04. I'm wanting to make darn good and sure she don't have an issues that I need to know about. Well, I started to have troubles with my hands going numb. Starting with my little fingers and slowly spreading to the rest of my hand and fingers. I don't think it is from vibrations because I don't feel any. What you guys think? I'm worried it is the position of my hands in relation the my heart.

Greetings... Went to Wally World yesterday. Was parking under the overhang between the Garden center and the part of the store where they park the shopping carts, where most of the cycle riders park. Backing in, there was a somewhat drunk middle aged woman with a scooter talking on her cell phone, wandering around. As I backed under the overhang to get in the shade, I caught a whiff of nasty sewage, looking down was an uncovered hole in the concrete right under where I'd parked. I commented about it to her, and procceeded to move over a bit so I wasn't directly over it. For some reason, this prompted her to move her little scooter too - she slowly backed it out (she had put it in - nose first) standing on the RIGHT side. I was still in the process of backing, preparing to shut down, when her center stand clipped the edge of a bench, put her off-balance, and down she went - slowly, dropping her scooter (to the left of course)- then slowly falling on top of it, as only a practiced drunk can, deftfully rolling over it backwards, heels over head. As she rolled over it, she muttered something like " sorry, I have a broken elbow" The little scooter exploded into a pile of plastic and metal parts!! It litterally disintegrated!! Completely out of proportion to the slow drop - The seat came off - apparently the main stowage - and cloths, drink bottles, basicly everything a woman would normall carry in her purse - all spilled out. Front wheel came off, instument panel seperated, mirrors, muffler, the chrome ring around the headlight, the headlight itself - everything!! I was stunned at the almost total destruction! I walked around trying to help her collect the carnage, and trying to help her piece it all back together - she wouldn't let me! Each time I'd hand her a piece, she'd grab it and growl like I was trying to steal it, then put it in the pile - and all the while she's trying to apologize and reassure me that she's "Not a weirdo" What can you say to that? - I thought it was downright scary! Like something you would see on some old BBC comedy program, only in real life!! The Benny Hill jingle started playing in my head!! When I got into the store, I had to pause and look back out - and all I could say was Whoa! The whole encounter was just so bizarre, weird and well into sureal territory. I was only in the store for about 10 minutes, and when I came out - she and her scooter, and all the parts were gone. I shudder to think that this is probably at least a daily occurance for her. That thing's going to kill her!

This happened about a month ago just outside a little town in the mountains of Tennessee, and while it sounds like an Alfred Hitchcock tale, it's real. A guy was on the side of the road hitchhiking on a really dark night in the middle of a thunder storm. Time passed slowly and no cars went by. It was raining so hard he could hardly see his hand in front of his face. Suddenly he saw a car moving slowly, approaching and appearing ghostlike in the rain. It slowly crept toward him and stopped. Wanting a ride really bad, the guy jumped in the car and closed the door, only then did he realize that there was nobody behind the wheel. The car slowly started moving and the guy was terrified, too scared to think of jumping out and running. The guy saw that the car was slowly approaching a sharp curve, still too scared to jump out, he started to pray and begging for his life; he was sure the ghost car would go off the road and into the marsh and he would surely drown, when just before the curve, a hand appeared through the driver's window and turned the steering wheel, guiding the car safely around the bend. Paralyzed with fear, the guy watched the hand reappear every time they reached a curve. Finally the guy, scared to near death, had all he could take and jumped out of the car and ran to town. Wet and in shock, he went into a bar and voice quavering, ordered two shots of whiskey, then told everybody about his supernatural experience. A silence enveloped and everybody got goose bumps when they realized the guy was telling the truth and was not just some drunk. About half an hour later two guys walked into the bar and one says to the other: "Look Bubba, there's that idiot who rode in our car as we were pushing it in the rain."
