Just took my RSV out of the shop after winter upgrades. It is running great, however, ..... When I hit it hard, the darn clutch slips. I have an upgraded Skydoc17 spring and have done the Freebird mod. If I drive normally, it doesn't slip. But if I really hammer it, the clutch slips in second and third gear. I was travelling too fast at the time to see if it would also slip in fourth, but I'm sure it will. I am looking for a solution so I don't have to deal with this every couple of years. OK, the question is: Barnett clutch with coil springs? Is that the most solid solution? Getting to the point that I don't care about the cost. RR

My clutch works great until after I ride the bike for about twenty minutes, then it slips so bad I can hardley get the bike moving. I replaced the clutch and springs about two years ago. Could it be too much fluid in the reservoir or the oil level too high??? I think that I used wal-mart 10W40 when I changed the oil over the winter and I have never had problems with this oil before. Any help much appreciated! Tim

Ok who can help me out there. I have a 83 1200 and 2nd gear slips. All others work just fine. Could it just be a simple adjustment?

Here we go again. We now have a new clutch, new slave, plenty of pull on the handle, no air in the lines, clear return hole, scuffed the metal plates, and still the thing slips. The only thing that isn't new on the thing is the pressure plate. The only positive is that it doesn't seem to slip quite as bad. Now I'm wondering, would it help if I replaced a couple of the (cork) plates with steel ones? Or do I go with an aftermarket clutch spring? As I'm at a complete loss of ideas, how about some more of that advice?
