I see a lot of members traveling all over the place. I for one would have loved to know that other then sleeping on the welcome center Between Norfolk VA and Dismal swamp state park in NC. There were members houses, near by ( a warm Bed or even a place to pop open a tent. ) would have been better then sleeping curb side. Is there a way to log in on a map, (Google maps) plot your route. and see if anyone, would offer a room or a place to drop your tent )? Like to anyone that was riding through, Vero Beach FL, my home is a VR House. I know there is a List of were people live, But I was thinking from an offering stand point, other then having to call someone, out of the blue.

So what is a good small, good sleeping bag to pack on a bike. I've been packing the same one for years, and is big and bulky. I'd like one that is much smaller, but doesn't cost a ton. Not a winter bag, spring thru fall. Price does matter! Suggestions?

If you think people can't see you on your bike, then watch this. They can't even see the lights or large objects in front of them. People driving must be either daydreaming, on the cell, sleeping, on drugs, or something serious enough to distract them from the obvious. Sorry, if this has already been posted before. http://www.youtube.com/watch_popup?v=-qvXbIenivk

I was on I-85 about 20 miles north of Montgomery and parked. A bike rode up and as the fellow was checking his map, I queried about his bike. It was a '99 RSV that he bought for his trip. He had put on 13,000 miles riding around the United States trying to decide where he wanted to move to from Florida. Maybe one of you has seen him in his travels; a silver '99 loaded up with sleeping bag, etc. and a guitar case sticking straight up from the passenger seat and strapped against the pass. backrest. I gave him the web address to this site so maybe he'll look us up.

Ok...not exactly 'riding gear'...but I found a source on the net for camping gear, mainly tents and sleeping bags and pads, made especially for bikers who camp! I have placed an order, and when one item was out of stock, one of the owners emailed me to offer alternatives, and then invited me to visit him at their booth in Sturgis when I get there....not a big deal, but hey, so many internet vendors have automated email and this was a nice change. Here is the link: http://www.fullthrottlecamping.com They have a nice selection of oversize bags, and pads that slip into a sleeve on the sleeping bag, so you dont slide off your air matress onto the cold hard tent floor! Cool! This is not a discount house, just good stuff at reasonable prices. Good place to spend that Economic Incentive Check! I look forward to using the gear I purchased....I'll let yall know how it turns out.
