    When setting still the speedometer reading jumps around and doesnt work going down the road cleaned up contacts but it was coverd with fork oil, Shorted out would be my guess, Any other ideas. Thanks Orlin

    I have my 89 VR at Earl's home and he is doing some mechanical work on the engine and rebuilding the brakes, etc.. Yesterday he informed me by e-mail that my CMU has shorted out. And the Reserve Lighting unit is also DOA. The PO put a battery sensor mod in the bike and did not do it correctly. Consequently, the wiring shorted out and burned up the CMU. Does anyone have a CMU or RLU they are willing to sell? Thanks Jim

    Was starting bike for the first time and it roared right up. Was going to put it on a couple blocks so I could get a jack underneath to change tire and it flat out died. Nothing. I had taken the saddlebags off and had the wires hanging from the amp and figured I had shorted out a fuse when it died. I mean dead, nothing turns on at all. Checked the fuses and their fine. Any suggestions for my 05RSTD? God Bless. Mike
