It was sure great to see the Midnight Venture there! It might not be New but it's still cool....and had lots of lookers and setters.....I don't know what year it came back but the bright black dash sure looks good being shiny black again....when did that happen? I think Yamaha had the biggest area there too.:Venture:I was kinda hoping they'd replace the cassette with an 8 track but nooooo!

I like a nice shiny bike and i love the look of the amourall type of protectants on the tires to make them all nice and black and shiny, BUT I wont use it on the bike because I dont want to find out that the silicone has gotten onto the tire's tread by sliding out in a corner. I have found this new stuff that made in the US that claims they are motorcycle safe and are silicone free. Has anyone tried it? I was going to order some and try it out. http://www.renewprotect.com/main.html A you tube video on it too [ame=http://www.youtube.com/user/renewprotectvideo#p/u/6/hGmCdlGxBKc]YouTube - renewprotectvideo's Channel[/ame] Brian

Well, I did it. Took momma's car in for service and while I was there I walked across the street to a Kaw/Honda/KTM/Triumph dealer to look at the new Thunderbird. (It's not too bad by the way). Anyway, long story short a shiny new Titanium Goldwind caught my eye. I was just looking at it for a minute and the salesman comes up and starts talking, shortly thereafter I'm on a test ride on the GW demo. Went back the next day with the wife to let her try it on and wound up riding my shiny new Wing home. I really enjoyed my Venture, but I was absolutely "shocked" at the difference between it and the wing. In all fairness, the last wing I rode was a 1200 back in the day, but gee, what a ride this new puppy is! All the weight's down low, torque out the wazoo and handling that reminds me of my old FJR. I LOVE it. Wife and I are leaving Sunday for the Blue Ridge parkway on the Wing!! I can't wait!!

I recently bought a couple lower fairing legs as I was told the finish was shiny. Actually the paint finish is dull with a more "satin" like finish compared to the high gloss on the other pieces of my bike. Color is good, just not shiny at all. Has anyone had any luck bringing back the shine with wax or spray gloss clear coat? I really don't want to take them to a body shop. Thanks

I'm wondering if those shiny covers found on the RSTD and/or the RSV would fit a 1st gen 1300 engine. I'm referring to things like the clutch cover, water pump, etc and how about those "fake fins" ... would they fit on a 1st gen? anyone know?

I got Sharon a new Nolan helmet, but couldn't find one that fits my square head better than the one I have. So I'll just need to paint it shiny black. Does anyone know what type of paint, primer, prep, etc., I should use ??

I got My 86 VR going Sat. that I bought 2 wks ago. It had no clutch, no foot brake, and ran rough, so without a test drive I bought what I thought was a cozy, feature laden touring bike (which it is). After some maint. and minor tuning I was able to take it out for a ride. Holy smokes! These have the heart of a muscle bike. The next day my 20 yr old son & his girl came by with his 02 HD softtail - very shiny, loud, and impressive -, and he asks "Hey gramps, ya wanna go for a burn?" Yah, I spose, heh heh. It looked sort of like a comical mismatch - black leather with a shiny chrome rumbling Harley, and grandma & grandpa on their quiet, not yet polished luxamobile. We took alot of rural back roads and several times at various speeds he tried to show ol gramps his tail lights. But the 86 ate him like an snack, big time. I told him that maybe he should take up shuffle board. Gary
